Here I am, an old woman living in a big city who has not swum in the sea since childhood, judging people for their lack of sense... and binging on Bondi Rescue.
I lived in Sydney (Paddington near Bondi) for a few years and got to know a few of these guys a bit. Bondi can get pretty crazy at times, tough job on a bad day. I miss Australia:(
It makes me upset that people don’t thank the people who rescue them. Like does it take the end of your life to say “thank you” ? Apparently not. Plus they are risking the life guards life. I mean... Jeez!!
I’m going to be a bondi lifeguard when I grow up bc I love the ocean and my sister is a lifeguard at a pool so she can teach me a few things but I have to practice a lot but I can deal big waves because I do surf in a area where there are big waves I hope u see this comment

I dont think that was the point. They just dont see them again after theyve been taken away in an ambulance. The serious cases. Other times I can imagine people are embarrassed or just too shook up to say thanks.

The natural disasters in Australia are usually really weak (besides bushfires) in fairness. We usually get cyclones, and even then they're barely even cyclones....

I’m in the US and I live in tornado alley, and today there was just a tornado in Nashville that killed over 20 people and was on the ground for several miles, tornadoes can be scary
