This is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I love the spooky but since I’ve been walking a more Christian path I thought I may have to give it up. This helps me stay in line and still get that little spookiness. Great recommendations! Can’t wait to get reading/listening to some of these! Subbed!!
Thank you for all these great suggestions! From your suggestion last October, I listened to Awakening Book One on Hoopla. Thank you for that recommendation. I enjoyed it, so I listened to Gifted Book Two. I agree with you, it was a great book, but it does move a bit slower. I thought it was just me! I can’t wait for Book Three! Many blessings for you ladies. 😊
Thank you for the great recommendations. If you want to see a spooky movie, watch "Nefarious". Exorcist Fr. Carlos Martins says it is the most true to life movie as far as showing the tactics of the demons. Most of the movie is a conversation between a possessed man and a lawyer. Like the book you recommended, this is a movie you don't want to watch at night.
The Exorcism Files might just be a better substitute than The Exorcist. 😅 I tried giving it a read, and although I’m amazed with the writing style and wanted to study it in a more literature perspective but I’m nervous to progress more in the novel as I know what it contains.
For teens ( and even adults ) we love the books over at the Catholic Teen books website. For adults we have found fiction very hit or miss. Some of the highly recommended Catholic fiction we have read we did not enjoy. “ Tortured Soul” by Theresa Linden is a fiction book we highly enjoyed. We also loved Death comes for the Archbishop by Willa Cather. Hope that helps!
Usually if a person is on the track to sainthood, the church will exhume his body as part of the canonization process. There are several reasons for this, so we found an article for you that explains all here: www.simplycatholic.com/saintly-exhumations/. Hope that helps!
There is no incorupt saints the ones that look like that are wax and other stuff. Saints are named by humans why you guys think praying to them like gods does anything.
Hi, Jon- as St. Bernadette ( who is incorrupt) said, “ It is not my job to convince you. It is my job to tell you””. We are keeping you in our prayers!
As a Catholic who is goth, I really appreciate solid recommendations like these -- may I also recommend "The Exorcist Files" on the Father Carlos Martins youtube page? Definitely older teens and up, but a great counter to shows like "A Haunting" or "Celebrity Ghost Stories" etc ✝🎃🪦🦇

I'm a wimp. I avoid reading scary books because they . . . scare me.
That is a very good reason, lol

No occult for me. That stuff always terrified me. This time of year I do like to reflect on death and purgatory though.
Us too- it’s not something we even like thinking about 😬 Reflection is great! Very important and it’s a good time of year like you said
These sound great!
Great suggestions

I agree about exorcism books 😂❤.

lol- you are braver than we are. Let us know how you do with it!
If you’re looking for spooky fiction by a Catholic there’s Peace by Gene Wolfe.
I never heard of that- we’ll have to check it out!
I want them all😂😂😂😂 not a spookie fan here but they all sound so interesting.
They really were, and all in different ways. When fall rolls around, we do like a spooky book 😁
Hi! Just curious. Do you have anyplace in particular where you go to find good Catholic fiction books?
For teens ( and even adults ) we love the books over at the Catholic Teen books website. For adults we have found fiction very hit or miss. Some of the highly recommended Catholic fiction we have read we did not enjoy. “ Tortured Soul” by Theresa Linden is a fiction book we highly enjoyed. What about Corinna Turner's book " The three Last things" and Theresa Linden's "Tortured Soul"? These are good too :)
We loved “Tortured Soul”- it was one of our featured spooky books a year or so ago. We have not read the other book- thanks for the recommendation!
Could you always add what is a child minimum age for those book in your opinion? Thank you
How does the Church decide who to exhume and why?

I don't like spooky anything. I'm watching for ideas for Nat. Lol.
lol- moms will go the extra mile for their kids every time ❤️
