"Tap to run" is now in the Scene menu of the app, not the Smart menu and the wizard in "Tap to run" is different. Once you've found it, you need to "add task" in the "Then" section of the screen. I think the other instructions are the same as the video.

Finally some example on smart life on iOS interacting with shortcuts! Nice information, wasn't sure to go for smart life accesories having an iphone and no alexa/google hub.

Have you tried and been able to hook up your MYQ garage door opener to the Smart Life app?
I’ve been able to add it to a MYQ & MyRing app, but I can’t seem to get it added to my Smart Life app. where all my other devices are.

i just find it funny, you dont have to hey siri everytime, just say your command lol. hey siri is only needed when you cant reach your phone.

Would it work with a HomePod?
so if you create the shortcut on the smart life app on a n iPhone, can it be used by the same person but on an iPad without smart life installed, or could the shortcut be invoked by a HomePod?
I'm assuming the shortcut requires the device the smart life app is on and the shortcut was created on to actually perform the shortcut action. Please let me know if that is a correct assumption.

Nice tips. I have all my lights all suporting apple homekit natively but with these tips i got my nedis smartlife AC unit to turn on and off via Siri, eg. "set AC on" etc 🤓

Hey David, I used my ipad Home app for my KNX smart apartment in a different country. Now in Africa, I have fully automated my house and it works flawlessly with Alexa and Google, I tried Siri by adding Tap to Run but kept saying did you mean the light in my home, I have created another home in the Home app but still the same.. What's the solution ? I doubt Tuya app to smartlife would make any difference as I added all my devices using the Tuya

Does anyone know if it’s possible to use Siri on the Apple watch to make the commands? I can’t seem to get that to work
FWIW: I suggest you "call" these things something a bit unusual. "turn lights on" may run into issues with other Siri based commands ... instead "porch light on" or "reading lamp 1" may be better (at least for me....).

Yes, I just did it today. Make sure to have the HomePod set up on your Home app and it'll automatically work if your phone is on the same wifi.

Now, am I right that you still lose the ability for more integrated control of the Smart Life devices when using an iOS device? Ie. I still can’t say “turn the colour to yellow” or “turn the light to 50%” like I can with my Pixel device

I gotchu so first make sure you’re doing it on the app that says “smart life” not LITEdge. Then once everything is connected on smart life go threw the process what the dude did but make sure you have Wifi ON

Any ideas why the add to Siri tab is not showing for me?
I changed my router and had to re-connect all my plugs. They seem to be working when I use the app but I can’t export them to Siri because that tab doesn’t exist.
I don't know! I believe they have updated/changed things since this video! We don't use Smart Life much anymore as I have been sucked into the Alexa ecosystem lol

Digital David I’ve tried but don’t work. Duno why, i think it only work on siri iphone only.
Mine works on my Apple Watch series 4. It may not work on older versions of the watch though. Just make sure you’ve got the app on your watch. Enable the commands and ensure you share the instruction to Siri. I just raise my wrist and say lights and they’re all set to come in in my living room. Repeat till turn off. Easy.

This doesnt work. Ive set up the shortcuts, but when I ask siri to trigger them, it tries to run them using the apple home app, which has nothing on it, and prompts to set something up, which i cant, because they arent apple devices...
I was having the same problem. First you need to have "Shortcuts" app installed on your iPhone. Then you have to enter the "Shortcuts" app and activate the shortcuts you made in Smart life app.

I was having the same issue as many people. When I tried to use Siri it was telling me to use HomeKit. To get around this I changed the action to Reverse. So I would just set my bulb to light 1, light 2, etc. When I say “Hey Siri light 1” it just make s it the opposite of the state it is currently in. Works perfectly. Hope this can help someone.

for those that are getting the homekit error: make sure you have installed the "shortcut" app on you iphone and it should fix the problem. the smart life app is setting these up as shortcut commands and if you dont have it installed, it defaults to homekit (which this is not compatible with)

do: "Add to Siri" twice at Tap-to-run screen. 1st save for Siri and 2nd save to shortcut. Make sure you have "shortcuts" app on your iphone.
