The reason why your DIY devices cannot be turned off is because you only recorded the 'Turn On' IR signal in the DIY mode. Most IR remotes have 2 different signals for on and off even though its using the same button. The on/off signal is alternated each time you press the button. So for DIY mode, you should record the on/off button signal twice

Really cool video. Btw I would recommend a smart plug with energy monitoring for your TV. You could check if the TV is on or off by checking the current energy usage, then only toggle the power via IR if it’s currently above a certain threshold.

Another work around to get your devices to show on google home is to not do the DIY remote as full custom learning but to select DIY and then selecting an appliance closest to your device i.e choosing air purifier and then programming your remote on a brand that works best. Once this is done your device will sync over to google home

How does this compare with broadlink in terms of working with Google? I have the smart life/tuya one as in the video and have crested routines in Google home app and tap to run in smart life to make commands easy to work
Can you use this to make inputs on a remote that would effect a TV as an example to them trigger other things? Say I press on with the remote can it then trigger the TV to turn on and use that input as a trigger to also set the lights to a certain level in that room?

I have an Aqara Hub and also an Switchbot Hub, both with IR-blasters. But non of them works with my costum made control for my IR controlled led candles when using Google Home. Will this one work with Google Home with costum made remote controls?

i just bought it and when i chose DIY then temprature light (mine is a celing light) and i try to teach it the buttons it doesn't detect the signals

yes either but i havent been able to get all voice commands to work. only on/off for the aircon and on/off, volume up/down for tv
hi this seems to work mostly well but can anyone tell me why only a few voice commands work with google assistant via a google home mini?

Nice review. But i still don't understand how it works. Do all the appliances the device controls need to be in a straight line to the module? Is it that the module sends and IR command to the appliance?

I'm not able to configure it for my ceiling fan. It sometimes does and does not detect signal, but when it does, the button does not work.

My device tuya only blink blue light. Not red/ orange light.. try many time light didn't come out. Is it faulty?

i have had little sucess with anything beyond on/off which is a shame as my aircon defaults to cool
Yes. I have used the DIY to work with Google Voice, but used work arounds with two to run in smart life. The key word is 'activate' to activate a tap to run on Google

to fix your tv turning on add a smart plug socket the tv goes into stand by mode when off or you may have setting on tv to turn it fully off

Just the physical remote of the appliance and the smart IR control itself should be near to each other when creating a DIY remote control for your Appliance.

Hi. Can this be used to appliances w/o remote controller? How do you connect your Electricfan? And your lights?
This device will work only for those appliances that can be controlled with an IR remote control, like TV, air conditioner etc.
For electric fan you can use smart plug po. For the lights you can connect it using smart switch or you can get smart bulb.

No, you need to have the Device pointing (360) and Near 10 mts from the IR Smart Device (no remote needed after configured)

When I tap on the button on my phone, all the ACs will turn on (or off). Is there a way of setting up and separating the signal control to the different ACs? All the units are of the same brand and can be controlled by the same remote control.
you cant , the IR controller can only control a single AC , because as you said it is the same signal
