That's very true. I think except hindi specially bollywood no states forget their roots like south, bengali, haryana etc. That's so good.
Whoever is giving you punjabi recommendations should be fired, for the other side of Punjabi podcast, he suggested songs of the same side which were little slower than the actual ones😭 There are many different types of Punjab folk, sufi, bhangra, gidha, jhoomer, religious etc
Even though Diljit Dosanjh got worldwide fame mainly due to his Punjabi Rap songs, he is an artist to the bone. He is a fan of literature, and an amazing actor as well. He has played a plethora of characters ranging from emotional and strong (In movies like Punjab 1984, Soorma) to extremely funny and stupid characters in movies like good newz and honsla rakh. To top it all off he's a gem of a human being.An artist actually worth diving deeper into.

That person who is giving you punjabi recommendations should really be fired. There is a lot in punjabi culture and music but you are unable to explore that because of your fixed thoughts. There are a lot of gems in punjabi music industry. Punjabi music is leading the world right now. You people just watch 1-2 clips and make quick decision based on that. At least explore everything first.

With classical singers too, you feel the pressure on diaphragm in those positions but the daily rehearsal culture and accuracy that the scale demands here, that with enough practice, breath economy and become siting positions become natural. It also helps that cross-legged is the most common sitting position and the default in traditional singing lessons.
