How wide is the top of the rack, from the inside of the rails? I'd really like to be able to haul 4x8 sheets of plywood, but is it -exactly- 48 inches, a little smaller, or a little bigger?
The crossbars are 48" on the Rack Height Version for the 2nd and 3rd Gen Tacoma. So the overall width with the addition of the 2 1/4" side plates is 48.5" wide.
For anybody looking to order this…… my order got delayed several weeks for hardware then I still didn’t get all the hardware and am having to source it locally….. full honest install and review will be on my channel soon.

@@sherpaec it got worse 😩 I got the hardware situated began install and the side panels for the cross bars are also missing. This video is gonna be an absolute mess for me and yall. Actually don’t even know how I’m going to edit it at this point.
@@sherpaec just got the email. Hoping they make it before the weekend I was supposed to collab with a local company here Saturday on a rooftop tent. Probably missing that opportunity now.
@@smileysadventures3776 If you are mounting a rooftop tent to it you actually don't need the side plates and additional crossbars to mount it. You'll be mounting the rooftop tent onto the sheet metal crossbars of the bed rack itself. Our team is getting those side plates packed and overnighted today.
What bed stiffeners do you guys recommend?
There are a lot of great brands out there making them. RCI Offroad, Bell Fabrication, ATH Offroad, and the list goes on.
Can’t wait to get mine. What bed stiffeners do you recommend with this rack?
RCI Offroad makes solid bed stiffeners that are local to us here in Colorado!
This offered in a 2004 ram 2500?
Not yet, be sure to fill out our vehicle request form on the website!
Can you put a bed cover in addition to this looks like it blocks the bed lining with how it’s mounted?
We hope to make a fitment option that allows bed covers in the future.
First like! Great job sherpa!
Thank you very much!
