So is it possible to make money in intraday?
I lost 34% of my capital within my first 2 months. Now, after 4 years, I still have days where I end with net losses but on an average, considering on a monthly term, I usually end up in profits.
I'd say Intraday is 70% about controlling emotions and the rest is strategy and action.

Firstly, there is no written rule for trading. Intraday trades are mostly based on extrapolation of previous patterns (e.g, this situation occured before in this stock and the stock made an upward move like incase of a breakout and the next time when that situation occurs again, we expect the stock to move in the upward direction ( "history tends to repeat by itself")). So we expect the stock to move that way.
Stock movements are ultimately based on the demand and supply. Demand and supply is caused by the collective actions of all the traders (some well informed and others not). So, we can't expect everyone to take the same position as we did. Even if the technical indicators and the volume was in our favour, a trade can go wrong. It does not matter how many years one has spend trading in the market, the person cannot predict the moves 100% accurately. Even 75% seems unrealistic.
My postions have only around 60-65% accuracy even though I use many technical indicators and price action to position a trade. I always set targets at 1.5 to 2 times of the stop loss. So, in effect, after some number of trades, the weighted probability of ending in a profit is much higher. Despite all these, there could be days where most of the trades go wrong. Discipline is always the key.
@@dilipkuldeep9718 I trade mostly based on price action. I found it more reliable than others. People might have different opinions on indicators to use. I personally use ADX, RSI, MACD, Bollinger bands and Vol ROC along with charts.
No need to hit six on every ball... Even staying not out matters a lot.. Motivate to stay rather killing dreams.

6. A strategy with good success rate.... success rate can be defined in two ways
1. 8:2,7:3 trades ratio with 1:2 profit ratio.
2. 5:5 trades ratio with 1:3,4 profit ratio.

@@sureshpolali4616 if this is case with you than should practice hard and reach to the perfection with the strategy of 8:2 trade ratio with 1:2 profit ratio. With this you can do frequent trading in Market.
PS : one thing you must have to follow in this strategy is stick to one script Only..for example become perfect either in Nifty, banknifty or crude oil if you trade in commodity..

Once I traded in reliance and made small loss of 200 , to recover the loss I tried a lot and made 2000 loss (my capital was 10000) so it wiped my 20% of capital in single day .... I am aiming for only 400 profit initially

Donot accept markets to behave in your favor insted flow with markets direction. Donot aim for top and bottoms, just identify the trend, mark your Stop Loss and then size yoyr positiin and plan exit. Initially donot trade with a Risk Reward of more than 1:2 build by practice & risk small when practicing
I am doing with the same balance, but i have chosen a risk:reward of 2:1.5, so risk of 200/- and reward of 100 to 150 only, aim is to grow the account in very small steps. even if you have winning % of 25, you can get 8-12%(after charges) per month.

I lost 3000 in a single day buy doing short sell. I had learnt about short sell that day itself! I got too excited by the fact that you can make money even when markets are falling ! I was in profits initially . But I didn't exit! I waited for more returns eventually green became red . I didn't have a stop loss also. Even when it came to red loss was small , But I didn't exit. It came to green for few seconds, But still I wanted it go up still! And after it came full down I exited. The price went up after I exited . This roller coaster always happens. Stay calm . Don't be greedy . Don't be fearful .

Loved your statements made, I totally agree, aggression & patience, both are bad, timing is the taste , along with proper set up.
To cover a loss of 7k I ended up loosing 20k.... Thank God I myself understood from that great lesson and now I just close the trade for the day or take a break , write down my strategy or rules again and patiently wait for that exact point to enter. I control my urge from entering the trade blindly.
Stoploss is very strictly followed without fail. Even if my strategy didn't work for that trade ,I'll be at a happy loss rather than some big big losses.
Since then I reduced my capital to just 10k though my actual capital is 1lac.
Stopped using huge margins or many lots. Now a days I only trade with one lot.
My max loss I'm ready to take is max 1k ..... Happy loss ... I'll exit the trade and accept the loss.
@@arnoldshmitt4969 Actually, the previous day my 20k profit went into -10k... The next day I made a revenge trade for 7k to end up loosing 20k. That's when it struck me that something wrong is happening, so I stopped trading for few days , went through mental tips like these, realised my mistakes and then made a solid strategy of entry and exit.

Yes sir. I was making 500₹ per day in equity and I took some options trade .. got 1000 rs in some minutes . After 2-3 profits I made 5 days of 5k loss every day .. then I quit trading for few months

Strongly agree with you sir... Market won't give profit every day. It will teach new lesson every day. Share market can continue to be overbought/oversold until u go bankrupt. So don't predict/assume the market trend.

No need to say that you described it perfectly. I would like to mention you are a good speaker. Your tone and pitch of voice is very well balanced. Books behind you speaks that you are a learner and a reader. A good reader is always calm and balanced. But one thing I have a question with, How do you get time to read all these books ? A trader is a full time job. I can't .... I tried but I just can't read as much as I want to.
I tried to follow 5 different people for intraday trading , all of them are duping people by showing them big dreams of making money by intraday trading, only 2% make money in intraday ,you can win for 2/ 3 days but one loss and it is gone, I have lost lot of money in intraday , I have stopped it, now I am doing swing trading and I am making good money in it , main thing is restrict your losses and even if u are 50% right you can still make money in swing trading. When chances if loosing are very high in intraday why do it , one must preserve your capital and not loose it , better avoid intraday trading and future and options.

Absolutely what u said is right. I have made continuously money in a week but due to the Fixed target in my mind to make money everyday I lost one week profit in a single day. Now I'm very strict about risk management. Once I lose 1% of my capital I will stop trading for the day. We need to follow our rules and process not on following money.

Intraday is Full-time Job - But if mastered it is rewarding - From 8 AM to 7 PM one need to work every day without any boss - Variable Income which can be very rewarding in few cases
Looking at charts and understanding is really skill which can be gained
I am new to trading, when I started trading I came upon options trading and started doing options trading on intraday basis, I the first few trades I made good money but in subsequent trades I started losing money, but I always had in mind the loss which I can bear,, so when hit the last point from where I couldn't take further loses I paused for few days and started observing and I observed that in options trading i am losing money but in stock trading I am not losing money and making steady income... So I started doing what I am good at... Now I study the stock wait till the right time comes and enter.. And stay till I meet my target and exit
..stay cool wait and play.. I still get tempted in doing options trade... But I refrained my self from taking the step.. And just wait till I have good opportunity... U will find opportunities every day... So just keep looking ...in stock market you should always look on compounding your profits,,, in the Same the losses are also compounding...

Exactly, I made 4.3k on the frst day of option trading and I blew 8k the very next day (4k from my capital I started with). I could have stopped at 560 loss or the next 750 profit but I thought I can catch the trend and lost 8k...
Then for days I didn't trade and only trying to learn as much as possible. And writing down the rules I need to follow while trading on paper.

When I started as an amateur I lost money and then kept on trying to make up my loss by taking blind trades out of frustration and eventually blew my small cap. So the suggestion to new amateurs is that do not believe in hoax TH-cam vids saying u can make a certain amount of money by using this/that strategy cuz it never works, once u may get lucky and then you'll blow your acc. So stay focused keep learning and one day you'll surely become profitable 🙏🏼
Regarding the uncertainty...In my experience it is also applicable for target and stop loss. Stoploss or profits should not be based on percentage. It should be according to what the charts are telling that day..I use pivot levels...And if the market proves you wrong , take the loss and exit...
The hardest part of being a trader is to live with the uncertainty.... It's not as easy as we say....It takes experience , good and bad, to accept that market is uncertain.

Dear sir, you coated golden words, even I my self am an intraday Trader trading with NSE & commodities mcx etc. Even I am getting frustrated when I hear about making every day profits of 10 thousand & fifteen thousands on daily basis on TH-cam from those small chaps, I fail to understand why they are doing this. I have 12 years of experience in Intraday Trading even I have never made every day profits, my policy is if you trade for every 20 days in a month you end up earning 13 days in profit & maybe 7 days with loses, it is personally what I believe in my 12 years experience & of course being a professional Trader you must be knowing that it is a game of operators so how can everyone earn everyday I fail to understand as per my experience. I believe no successful Trader shares their recipe the way these chaps do. Moreover I liked your speech very much & the facts you presented were absolutely upto mark & according to my mindset.

Right, so how does one operate without having any target? I think a day trader should target around 1% of the capital as profit and the .50% as loss.

Very valuable advice TQ. My humble opinion to all investors especially to beginners is to stay away from intraday trading. It will kill your desire to trade in the stock market. One can make more money doing other stock trading without loss and heartache.
I made 4k profit in my 1st 3 days of trading by shorting M&M shares... On 4th day i made 1250 by 11 am and lost 1k in my trade which i took by 2.30... And i got nervous. So i saw some strategies on youtube and giving up my approach i traded with those strategies on 5th day with lot of unclarity...
Initially by shorting 300 shares of TechM i made 1k Rs. Loss and hold the share hoping to recover it... When my loss went up to 3k i exit from that trade. Again after some time i traded in same share to recover those loss and my loss went up to 4k and i exit from the trade again...
Finally i tried last tym and end up loosing ₹5780/- in total on that dat more than what i had made from trading...
That was the worst day of my life when i thought of quiting... But after watching some youtubers and reading comments i realized most of the trader makes such losses bcuz we are not willing to accept loss from market.
Now i m working on how can i limit my losses rather than focusing on how can i make lakhs from market.

journey of last 4+ years. Appreciate bringing up this great video. I used to take as high as 10trades per day and was making the broking company rich and I lost in all format of intraday trading(options, equity, future). What I repent most is the time any money I wasted in OPTION buying for 3years which was always giving me Loss.
Same applies for mutual funds as well. Certainty of returns/profit is not guaranteed, mutual funds can also make loss.
I have lost more than 10 lacs. But I still can't resist from taking trade after a few months....
Accepting losses is NOT accepting failure...Learnt at a cost of 8k.

I am Algo Trader and I have done all sorts of combinations of most of the available momentum indicators and all the time frames including 4 seconds,10,15,30 seconds, and multi time frame charts. Though I know it is not possible too be profitable each and every day, i just wanted to give a try and test my algorithmic skills. I say this from my experience. THERE IS NO WAY ANY ONE CAN MAKE PROFIT EACH AND EVERY DAY. every one who claims are lying.
Last week,I made a profit of 630 out of 7000 in Bank Nifty on Expiry,But at the End of the day,To roundoff the profit to 1000 I made a wrong entry and lossed about 3600 rs out of 7000 Capital.🧐
