Not much can replace the hand trap brigade, but I feel that. Been playing DD Crow in bootleg Zoo Tri because it's technically searchable but it's still a super rare, I just happened to have 2 copies I think. Also playing Chalice since I only have one Droplets.
Another fun fact about Paleozoic Dinomischus is that targeting is the cost, you discard on actual resolution so if the opponent tries to negate it you wont discard a card.
I would like to mention Book of Moon as a good R rarity staple quick play spell card, though it does not work on link monsters since they cannot be put on face down defense position. But using it on the right monster/combo starter is so satisfying.
wack card. what's so OP about flipping a monster face down? you can destroy it, banish it, return to hand.. etc flipping it only negates it's effects for one turn so it's not really that useful.
QUICK NOTES: You get 3 Mystical Space Typhoons for free just playing solo mode (as well as Monster Reborn and Raigeki). Ash Blossom, Solemn Judgment, and Lightning Storm also have cheap bundles that give you some random cards that may or may not be mentioned in this list that would help. Most to everything he's mentioning should be filler cards, go for the better cards first and then come back to fixing your deck with these cards

Reptilianne Servant. An ineffective floodgate, and only against Normal Summoning (cause you can't have a Normal Summonable Last Warrior in the game, duh) BUT it only has 100 ATK, blows itself up if your opponent plays ANY card, and its stats prevent it from synergizing with the rest of the archetype's antisupport of 0 ATK monsters.

ROYAL KNIGHT OF THE FUCKING ICE BARRIER. Although to be fair entire early batches of ice barrier seems to have no synergy but at least there's some semblances of "playstyle" where they usually being minor to mediocre floodgates. Royal Knight of the Ice Barrier wasn't even one and if you play wetlands turbo (which was probably the only way to play ice barrier back then) that token can overpower the summoner. Oh yeah also it gives your opponent a token that cannot be tributed but it is a synchro era, you gave them token for synchro summoning and maybe spit out Trishula just to salt your wounds.
Adding to this list: Broken Line is a counter trap that negates any spell, trap or monster effect in the same column as itself. A good alternative to the solemns when you don't have the resources for those. Set it in the columns of the extra monster zones and you'll usually get a good use out of it. If you only have one you can block the other EMZ with your own link monsters. It has won me a ton of games playing Altergeist, some of those even against meta decks like Tri-Brigade because the opponent happened to set their Revolt in the Broken Line column. Book of Moon. In case anyone doesn't know it, it's a quick-play spell that sets an opponents monster face-down. It has lost some power in the link era, since links can't be changed to defense position. However sometimes setting the first monster your opponent summons face-down already ends their turn as they can't link their monster off. Another card that I'm not sure if it's a R or N in Master Duel, but that's probably not that well known and can be useful is Appointer of the Red Lotus. This trap lets you pay 2000 LP and reveal your hand to look at your opponent's hand and banish one card from it until their End Phase. It's a bit worse in Master Duel due to the best of 1 format, as the card is most powerful when you're going first and get to activate it in their draw phase to banish something like a lightning storm or a starter and play with full knowledge of what they have. I play it (again) in my Altergeist deck and sometimes it just instantly wins you the game by banishing the only playable card in their hand. Worst case the card lets you see that the opponent is going to kill you this turn regardless of what you do and you can surrender and get into the next game faster. Light Imprisoning Mirror: A continuous trap that negates the activated effects of all LIGHT attribute monsters on the field or in the GYs. It is very targeted, but cards and decks this card counters include Drytron, Eldlich, Invoked Mechaba, El Shaddoll Construct, Cyber Dragon, Blue-Eyes, Galaxy-Eyes, Numeron OTK, Zeus and all of the Utopias of Bird-up Tri-Brigade variants and ZW Utopia decks. So there is quite a few decks that are going to have trouble playing under this. Shadow Imprisoning Mirror: It's the DARK version of the Light Imprisoning Mirror. Decks and cards that get countered by this are all of the Borrel and Topologic Extra Deck monsters, Accesscode Talker, Draglubion, Phantom Knights, Shaddoll main deck monsters, Aleister, Dark Magician, Orcust, True King of All Calamities, I:P Masquerena, Red Supernova Dragon. So, probably not as good as the Light Imprisoning Mirror currently, but still a good list of cards.
I don't think they've added Appointer of the Red Lotus to Master Duel yet. Some cards are still missing from the game. EDIT: Appointer of the Red Lotus is in fact in the game, and its on Normal rarity so is very accessible to everyone. Apologies for the original comment, I must have made a mistake when searching for it last time.
Appointer of the red lotus is pretty well known if you watched this channel regularly, it kept popping out in his lists. But yeah it's not in MD yet sadly.

I know top 10s are your bread and butter, but I would love to see breakdowns of different archetypes found in Master Duel. I remember hearing you mention that your target audience is newer/returning players rather than enfranchised ones so this seems like it's a perfect fit for your audience. For example, I like the idea of Ghostrick cards but have no idea which cards are good/bad or even if the archetype is worth trying.
I actually really like the editing in this video. Adding those little subtle quips "from" the cards ("don't forget little ol' me") kinda made the screen text a bit more engaging. I enjoy the videos edited by your main YGH as well but this gave it a little more oomf.
I like to use Gardarla in my Blue-Eyes deck in case I don't have any of the other level 8 Blue-Eyes monsters in my hand and I need to use a level 8 monster for Trade In.
Little detail id like to mention, BIG fan of you using the arrows to highlight the point you are trying to make on specific cards. While i personally can understand your points already without them (im a yugioh sweat lmao), i still love the added touch of them to fill in people who have less knowledge. One interesting idea for a video could be most used Meta decks in master duel and how to at least disrupt them. I've been playing yugioh for a while so the borrels and ash blossoms don't bother me but it would be cool to see a video about what the eldlich and other meta decks do along with at what point should you try to negate the setup or with what.
honorable mention is Dust Tornado, it's basically trap version Mystical Space Typhoon, it's less versatile because it's a trap but it can beat Imperial Order which is one of the staple card in Eldlich Deck

One of my duels, I was playing Traptrix, the other guy was using Eldlich and had Torrential Tribute on his side. I got second, as always, place mantis, he ash my effect, I link into Traptrix Sera and he use TT, but some Traptrix monsters, like Sera, have trap immunity. So Sera live a torrential and because TT is a normal trap, Sera trigger to special summon a traptrix monster front the deck.
Oh hey! I just Started using Gadarla in my Lunalight deck! It helped get rid of my friends' monsters that kept negating my poly. Really caught them off guard too! Definitely using lost wind with my Lunalights!
There's another reason why people use the Gadarla Kaiju, it's because the Wind Barrier Statue is being played in the current Meta and Gadarla isn't affected by it because it's also a Wind Monster
You forgot to mention that the Synchro structure deck comes with 3 copies of MST. The best part is that it's one of the 3 starter decks you can get in the beginning or unlock from missions.
Gandarla is also good tech against tribrigade because you can tribute off the barrier statue if they go first and make simorgh. same goes for any wind deck that can make that play

I have two ideas for a future list. First is one I have mentioned before, modern cards that rely on the current meta to be useful. As in, if these had been released back in the day they would have been far less useful. And of course, I am not talking about those that require archetype specifics to work. Just general cards. Second, and sticking with Master Duel. What about a list of off-meta decks or playstyles that are just fun to play with or play against? Basically decks that play like we all want YuGiOh to play. Not having a single round of solitaire, but going on for several turns with all kinds of twists and turns. Those kinds of decks.
You could make a "worst or best hidden packs to start with" since thats something all new players would benefit from knowing, you could even make it so that you include synchro, xyz, link, etc focused packs in each spot.
Another plus for Gadarla is that is Wind so you can still use it to get rid of Statue barrier of Storms, a combo that Tribrigade can pull off easy on their first turn
I would have given honorable mention to Jizukiru, The Star Destroying Kaiju alongside the Kaiju you mentioned. Sure, it has pretty high ATK among the Kaijus, but in being a Machine/Light monster, it has a lot of counters. Machine decks that run Cyber Dragon can easily use Jizukiru over Gadarla because of their very easy means to remove other Machine monsters as well as monsters in the extra zones.
Also Jizukiru is a nice addition to have if you have a small kaiju engine on an archetype with railcars and big numbers choo choo express aka rank 10 trains. (definitely inspired by Rank10YGO)
Additional note for your Damage Step explanation, for any players not aware: monster Quick Effects that negate activations are another category that can be used during the Damage Step, which most commonly played "negates" fall into. Abyss doesn't work because he doesn't actually negate activations, but rather targets a face-up card and then negates that. But stuff like Apollousa, Savage Dragon, Herald, etc. can and will activate during the Damage Step.
The best part about Paleozoic Dinomischus is that the discard is part of the effect, so if it is negated you don't need to discard a card, and you can use it to trigger effects like "When this card is sent to the graveyard by card effect" or even Dark world effects
Good top 10! Surprised most of these are only rares in Master Duel. Something else worth mentioning about Dinomischus have over Raigeki Break / Karma Cut is that it doesn't discard as a cost.
"Target 1 face-up card on the field, DISCARD 1 CARD, and if you do, banish it." Normally the cost is put at the start of the sentence, but yea, still discards.
If you could make a MD deck using only N/R cards, that would be really cool. It doesn’t have to be the most consistent or good deck but I think it’d be a fun challenge
Shoutouts to the Danger monsters for being good generic extenders in combo decks. Other than Bigfoot, all of them are SR or below rarity. Mothman in particular is noteworthy for being a good level 4 extender that’s a N rarity card
I'm interested in what archetypes have the least/most SR and UR cards. Sky Strikers and Witchcrafters seem really cheap because a lot of their SR and UR cards are either limited in some way or you just don't play them much. Some archetypes have way too many high rarity cards though.
Crusadia is super cheap, the only UR Crusadia card is a staple link that the Crusadia deck doesn't really need to play (Avramax), and it only has two SRs in the Link monsters Magius and Equimax, and since they're both Link monsters and Crusadia often shoots for OTKs, you don't * need * playsets of them
Crusadia is absurdly cheap since only Magius and Equimax are SR and the rest is all R or N, and both are Extra Deck and can perfectly be ran at one each. My noob deck was Six Samurai but I wouldn't call it cheap, it has a lot of URs and SRs especially in the Extra Deck, so it was more a matter of me getting lucky and pulling the Shi Ens and Battle Shoguns I needed, but the Isolde/Bamboo Sword engine alone has set me back like 30 UR and 150 SR CPs. Still, it was the deck that carried me up to Gold with very little investment and now I upgraded it into a lockdown machine that still serves me in Platinum, which counts I guess.
It suprises me that planet pathfinder is both at 3 and not limited in any way. Its broken in numeron decks, which also have a SR that activates the field spell as a quick effect on either turn.
Just one feedback. The red horizontal line with the spot no usually makes it hard to read the card itself until it fades. Maybe a left aligned vertical one that doesn’t overlap with card layout? Just a thought! Do see perhaps a nicer to do it. Helps reading card much better!
About that "Small Attack Raise" of forbidden chalice, you won't think it's little when I drop it on my Knight Express Night for a 3400 atk beatstick. 😜

Top 10 Rogue Deck Boss Monsters. Cause Blackwing Full Armor Master exists. Uneffected by all cards. And can steal your opponents monsters. Or destroy them. It's beautiful. And I love it in Master Duel.
Gadarla is also useful because it's more flexible than Gameciel. Barrier Statues lock out special summons of anything but the attribute they're for, and Barrier Statue of Stormwinds is the most commonly played one in stuff like Lyrilusc decks that turbo out Simorgh to bring out the Barrier Statue. Since Gadarla is wind, it can still be special summoned using the Barrier Statue as an out to the floodgate. And honestly the attack power is generally not that much concern because you more often use kaijus to remove stuff with oppressive effects over impressive statlines, since they have no protection on their own.
nice list, I can say from experience using a kaiju can totally ruins someone's day. I currently use "The Star Destroying Kaiju" slightly as a small flex because attacking over it is not hard, and because it's a lvl 10 machine.
I'm surprised that Black Horn of Heaven is not mentioned. Because that card works almost the same as UR Solemn Strike (minus the monster effect activation). Using it at the right moment it's even better than Torrential Tribute because it's a counter trap so only other counter trap can response chain to it. Negating Dragonmaid Sheou is pretty satisfying.
I have some list suggestions of you don't mind: Best generic Polymerization alternatives. Top 10 generic pendulum cards. Top 10 "trap" cards. (Cards that seem good at first glance but aren't really that good. Top 10 parody cards. Top 10 cards based on other Konami games. Top 10 special conditions in the games. More Rescue Rabbit, please.
I love using forbidden chalice in my Rank 10 Train deck because I have an option to chalice my main monster train to reset it's attack so I can beat opponent monster with 3400 or 3200 atk if I somehow can't xyz summon that turn
The main reason for Gadarla is so popular not only because it is low rarity. Because it is useful against meta wind deck which usually play the statue that force only wind special summon.

Book of Moon is another one of those staples that will always be good.
I love running it. A Winda with a book of moon on your opponent’s turn is just back breaking when they’re going second.

Most negates negate an effect for one turn or once that turn.

Gadarla sees play specifically because it’s wind and people are afraid of barrier statue of the stormwinds locking them from summoning.
Tbf most dont even run the barrior Statue anymore. Apex avian is just so much better

I like how floodgate trap hole is R here while in Duelinks you need to dig a box 3 times to get a playset

I actually really like the editing in this video. Adding those little subtle quips "from" the cards ("don't forget little ol' me") kinda made the screen text a bit more engaging. I enjoy the videos edited by your main YGH as well but this gave it a little more oomf.
The insect kaiju has been really useful to me, also danger mothman, so insects are here to save f2p players
I like to use Gardarla in my Blue-Eyes deck in case I don't have any of the other level 8 Blue-Eyes monsters in my hand and I need to use a level 8 monster for Trade In.
Gardarla is becoming more useful than any other Kaiju due Tribrigrades using the Wind Statue to shutdown most summons.
Insects are here to save f2p Players, but at least we aren't Weevil/Haga.

Little detail id like to mention, BIG fan of you using the arrows to highlight the point you are trying to make on specific cards. While i personally can understand your points already without them (im a yugioh sweat lmao), i still love the added touch of them to fill in people who have less knowledge. Just wanted to bring some attention to that since i guarantee its gonna go underappreciated.

One interesting idea for a video could be most used Meta decks in master duel and how to at least disrupt them. I've been playing yugioh for a while so the borrels and ash blossoms don't bother me but it would be cool to see a video about what the eldlich and other meta decks do along with at what point should you try to negate the setup or with what.
That one yugi-tuber who does the progression series made videos in the past on how decks work. Their combos and the like. Miss those videos.
honorable mention is Dust Tornado, it's basically trap version Mystical Space Typhoon, it's less versatile because it's a trap but it can beat Imperial Order which is one of the staple card in Eldlich Deck

One of my duels, I was playing Traptrix, the other guy was using Eldlich and had Torrential Tribute on his side. I got second, as always, place mantis, he ash my effect, I link into Traptrix Sera and he use TT, but some Traptrix monsters, like Sera, have trap immunity. So Sera live a torrential and because TT is a normal trap, Sera trigger to special summon a traptrix monster front the deck.

Oh hey! I just Started using Gadarla in my Lunalight deck! It helped get rid of my friends' monsters that kept negating my poly. Really caught them off guard too!
Definitely using lost wind with my Lunalights!
There's another reason why people use the Gadarla Kaiju, it's because the Wind Barrier Statue is being played in the current Meta and Gadarla isn't affected by it because it's also a Wind Monster

In tribrigade format, gadarla may even be better than gameciel because barrier statue of the wind
You forgot to mention that the Synchro structure deck comes with 3 copies of MST. The best part is that it's one of the 3 starter decks you can get in the beginning or unlock from missions.
Gandarla is also good tech against tribrigade because you can tribute off the barrier statue if they go first and make simorgh. same goes for any wind deck that can make that play
All I got to say is thank you for Lost Wind is has come in handy on the early grind and has come in handy even as if lately on rank matches.
With the N/R festival, a lot of these will see play.

I have two ideas for a future list.
First is one I have mentioned before, modern cards that rely on the current meta to be useful. As in, if these had been released back in the day they would have been far less useful. And of course, I am not talking about those that require archetype specifics to work. Just general cards.
Second, and sticking with Master Duel. What about a list of off-meta decks or playstyles that are just fun to play with or play against? Basically decks that play like we all want YuGiOh to play. Not having a single round of solitaire, but going on for several turns with all kinds of twists and turns. Those kinds of decks.
You could make a "worst or best hidden packs to start with" since thats something all new players would benefit from knowing, you could even make it so that you include synchro, xyz, link, etc focused packs in each spot.

Another plus for Gadarla is that is Wind so you can still use it to get rid of Statue barrier of Storms, a combo that Tribrigade can pull off easy on their first turn

I would have given honorable mention to Jizukiru, The Star Destroying Kaiju alongside the Kaiju you mentioned. Sure, it has pretty high ATK among the Kaijus, but in being a Machine/Light monster, it has a lot of counters.
Machine decks that run Cyber Dragon can easily use Jizukiru over Gadarla because of their very easy means to remove other Machine monsters as well as monsters in the extra zones.
Shaddoll can also use super poly to make a construct from it
Also Jizukiru is a nice addition to have if you have a small kaiju engine on an archetype with railcars and big numbers choo choo express aka rank 10 trains.

Additional note for your Damage Step explanation, for any players not aware: monster Quick Effects that negate activations are another category that can be used during the Damage Step, which most commonly played "negates" fall into. Abyss doesn't work because he doesn't actually negate activations, but rather targets a face-up card and then negates that. But stuff like Apollousa, Savage Dragon, Herald, etc. can and will activate during the Damage Step.
Small note that numeron calling is the normal spell, numeron network is the field spell but its an understandable mix up

The best part about Paleozoic Dinomischus is that the discard is part of the effect, so if it is negated you don't need to discard a card, and you can use it to trigger effects like "When this card is sent to the graveyard by card effect" or even Dark world effects
Good top 10! Surprised most of these are only rares in Master Duel.
Something else worth mentioning about Dinomischus have over Raigeki Break / Karma Cut is that it doesn't discard as a cost.
"Target 1 face-up card on the field, DISCARD 1 CARD, and if you do, banish it." Normally the cost is put at the start of the sentence, but yea, still discards.

If you could make a MD deck using only N/R cards, that would be really cool. It doesn’t have to be the most consistent or good deck but I think it’d be a fun challenge

Broken Line is really good for higher levels and lowers levels of play. Mid-Level play is a little harder to use though.
Shoutouts to the Danger monsters for being good generic extenders in combo decks. Other than Bigfoot, all of them are SR or below rarity. Mothman in particular is noteworthy for being a good level 4 extender that’s a N rarity card

I'm interested in what archetypes have the least/most SR and UR cards. Sky Strikers and Witchcrafters seem really cheap because a lot of their SR and UR cards are either limited in some way or you just don't play them much. Some archetypes have way too many high rarity cards though.
HEROES, 100% Lol. Any good HERO cards are stuck behind SR-UR rarities.

Crusadia is super cheap, the only UR Crusadia card is a staple link that the Crusadia deck doesn't really need to play (Avramax), and it only has two SRs in the Link monsters Magius and Equimax, and since they're both Link monsters and Crusadia often shoots for OTKs, you don't * need * playsets of them

Mmmm, that would be hard because most archetypes have their boss monster or a key combo piece as UR or SR
Crusadia is absurdly cheap since only Magius and Equimax are SR and the rest is all R or N, and both are Extra Deck and can perfectly be ran at one each. My noob deck was Six Samurai but I wouldn't call it cheap, it has a lot of URs and SRs especially in the Extra Deck, so it was more a matter of me getting lucky and pulling the Shi Ens and Battle Shoguns I needed, but the Isolde/Bamboo Sword engine alone has set me back like 30 UR and 150 SR CPs. Still, it was the deck that carried me up to Gold with very little investment and now I upgraded it into a lockdown machine that still serves me in Platinum, which counts I guess.

Megalith and Crusadia feel like the most obvious go-tos for cheap decks that can win games, but I'm sure there are others.
It suprises me that planet pathfinder is both at 3 and not limited in any way.
Its broken in numeron decks, which also have a SR that activates the field spell as a quick effect on either turn.

Just one feedback. The red horizontal line with the spot no usually makes it hard to read the card itself until it fades. Maybe a left aligned vertical one that doesn’t overlap with card layout? Just a thought! Do see perhaps a nicer to do it. Helps reading card much better!

Lost wind is so good! Especially in a deck with lots of milling. I was suprised it was only rare. It won me so many games!
Top 10 Rogue Deck Boss Monsters. Cause Blackwing Full Armor Master exists. Uneffected by all cards. And can steal your opponents monsters. Or destroy them. It's beautiful. And I love it in Master Duel.
Gadarla is also useful because it's more flexible than Gameciel. Barrier Statues lock out special summons of anything but the attribute they're for, and Barrier Statue of Stormwinds is the most commonly played one in stuff like Lyrilusc decks that turbo out Simorgh to bring out the Barrier Statue. Since Gadarla is wind, it can still be special summoned using the Barrier Statue as an out to the floodgate. And honestly the attack power is generally not that much concern because you more often use kaijus to remove stuff with oppressive effects over impressive statlines, since they have no protection on their own.
it's good against Floowandereeze mainly, yes. If you hate Flonder get Gadarla.
Funny that Hot Red Abyss is the example card in the #1 demonstration, since I learn recently how useful its effect is.

nice list, I can say from experience using a kaiju can totally ruins someone's day. I currently use "The Star Destroying Kaiju" slightly as a small flex because attacking over it is not hard, and because it's a lvl 10 machine.
That card is the MVP in Cyber Dragon because you can sac it off for Fortress Dragon, and it's searchable with Cyber Repair Plant.
I'm surprised that Black Horn of Heaven is not mentioned.
Because that card works almost the same as UR Solemn Strike (minus the monster effect activation). Using it at the right moment it's even better than Torrential Tribute because it's a counter trap so only other counter trap can response chain to it. Negating Dragonmaid Sheou is pretty satisfying.
It's funny Konami made the traptrix box very cheap making basically all the trapholes R quality when knowing that they are all good

I love using forbidden chalice in my Rank 10 Train deck because I have an option to chalice my main monster train to reset it's attack so I can beat opponent monster with 3400 or 3200 atk if I somehow can't xyz summon that turn

Because it is useful against meta wind deck which usually play the statue that force only wind special summon.
