To start out with, the FAL instruction can be used in RSLogix 5000 and Studio 5000 and can be a very helpful way to transfer information such as arrays of data.
The FAL instruction is often overlooked but is very useful in most application.
Brought to you by Online PLC Support which has been voted the best online PLC training in 2018 but will remain the same in 2019 because of your support and giving me feedback.....Big thanks to my Patreon member's area.

    My note to you:
I know what it is like to struggle in programming and how frustrating it can be so I made Online PLC Support and the several platforms to help you, having a better career and making troubleshooting or programming can be easy.
I have made it easy and if I can do it then anyone can do it. The way I teach is designed to break down very complex programming to a simple process which can take anyone from struggling to being 10 times better in no time.
If you have the effort, I have the video training.
Here is what helps me learn, little chunks a learning a day, not video after video as I often miss the point of the training video. I take small steps forward each day and in my opinion, making a small step each day ends up getting farther in life in the shortest time.
We can't rush learning, the details in programming are a key that can make or break what you can do.
    NOTE:
Below, I have a few options for you and just so you know, you can either keep fighting the world of controls or you can start taking steps forward today with the training I have made or what I recommend.
I have no doubt that you will be 10 times better if you take what I am saying seriously, designed for you so get started today.

We just got a new machine in that uses the FAL instruction for setting up new recipe's so this was very helpful. Thanks!

Good job Shane! I am a automation specialist and you can’t imagine how important stuff like this is to me on a daily basis. I am in middle of a PLC/HMI/Servo drive rebuild that I am having lots of trouble with. Your videos have been there for me. Not sure if you ever dealt with Servostar300 and the TRIO comms cards they used, but my HMI quit talking to the servo a few weeks back and I haven’t been able to get it back. We ordered new HMI from builder and I should be connecting it tomorrow. Hope it works!!!

I do not have experience with Servostar300, sorry about that

@@ShaneWelcher the HMI ended up being the problem after all. Connected it and the comms error went away. Now it’s not homing it’s just continuously spinning until it faults. I need to find how it knows where home is

Hi Shane... Thanks a lot for the video. So can you make the video with instruction "FOR" in text structure to index and problem with plc to fault when index?

Do you mean for structured text?
I ask because I already have a video and section on my website for structured text constants.

How could I move the elements in an array? for example, I have 10 elements and I want to add a new one at position 0 by moving the one that was in 0 towards 1, 1 through 2, 2 through 3 and so on

Just editing to clarify - I don't mean sequential function chart, I mean File Search and Compare instruction. It is very similar to the FAL instruction?
