Yes, I use normal percussion caps. Ammo making is very similar to Chassepot ammo production. I have a video in German where it is explained. But there are lots of vidz in english how you do it.
Nice . . . I want to see moore ! Make a longer video on this very intressting pistol and do a lot of shooting, so we can see the results. Does it have good precision ? I`m waiting for your next video ! Peter in Sweden
I AM a DIY muzzle loader from propellent to paper and all possibles and self gunsmithing. I must admit? I have considered a "Dreyse" system as they are a valued as a historic systems, but hard to enjoy due "in my opinion" to their ammo. I have not done homework for the ammo.
It is really easy to manufacture, as far as you check out the correct cartridge length (bullet included) before building any paper cartridge. But it takes its time. 😅

Hi, the model you're talking about is the earlier M1835 and M1840 Dreyse pistols. I have one of each too. But there were only built about 100-200 pieces of the M1865 pistol. If you want to buy one, you can search for it on gunsinternational. They are incredibly expensive. Dreyse constructed the M1865 for the prussian military as an officers sidearm. But it was abandoned by the military due to its high production costs.
The logo right at the end covers the target before we get a good look!
Yep, sorry for that. Had no time yet to correct it.
Howd you go abour making the ammo? Do you just use a normal percussion cap for the primer?

I'm impressed you actually are almost done with the drawings. Do you have plans to export these to the United States?
Yes, I plan to do so. Thoughest is to find a manufacturer who can and want to produce this gun.

Hi Peter, i will give it a try. But next video will be an awaited build of a Chassepot tuning with a Picatinny rail to mount a scope on. ;)
Caseless ammo perfect "home defense" weapon

That's a good question. I never tried. But I estimate it will be at least similar.

That is not an original. They did not open on the side and the lever was on the side not under
