Very nice guys, I like the clean electronics installation. 1.55s look great as does the bobbed bed. Get some real winch hooks though, what you have on there is awful. I love your products, I use several of them.
Thanks! The winch hooks may look awful, but they never let go! I've yet to find a hook I'm actually happy with, although these don't have any scale appeal, that's for sure. ..
Excellent engineering on the truck, Video, and garage. I had some questions earlier on this truck along with the other Toyota, and a few of my questions were answered here. Again, beautiful work, and future ideas to come...Above top-notch builds and planning, I will have to check out your site and channel after seeing more of your videos. I had to Subscribe on first site of your work...Please keep sending out the great ideas and build videos
This truck was retired a good while ago, although there are hilux mounts now available for SCX chassis, see this link: www.shapeways.com/shops/mod19-rc
How hard would it be to make a cover that goes underneath the truck that make the rear winch look more like a gas tank instead? I have a feeling it would be fairly easy with some styrene. I'm just thinking that way it disguises what it it.
Thanks for the question. In this case, I used a 1.5 inch wide tape, made a line UP and Down right at the back lights. Then I just cut the thing on the tape line both sides, using a bandsaw with the box upside down on the table. This made the cuts all 90 degrees to the bed, and both sides of the tape made an even section removed. Then I just re-glued the back lights/tailgate section to the box once again, as it was, and that's all. The thing is super strong still, also. It was an easy mod.
Awesome thanks a bunch i may attempt this. gives an awesome look as well as better function. This is a very very nice truck by the way. mechanically & also looks freaking AWESOME !
i just shortened my back shocks my using only one of the springs on my stock scx10 shocks, im using wraith shocks in the i mounted my back ones on the frame and got rid of the shock tower in the back but i was getting way too much flex cuz the shafts wer then too long, so i fixed that by using the spacers for the y link that come in the extra parts i put the spacers inside the shock so it only pulls out so far now its like a short shock wich made the truck articulate close to what this one does im wondering how well it works its snowy here and i cant test it out yet
I made up a bracket that bolts into the bumper and upper brace screws in the body front end, and then put 2 holes in the bracket to match the frame front holes (where the usual bumper mount would be)
GCMRacing1 - Scale Truck RC in Canada Just finished a RC4WD K5 Chevy hard body. Would like to purchase a rolling frame on kit to make as scale as possible. Do you have one available if so could you supply a cat. #. If not could you give me a list of product to build . I am Canadian and would love to buy Canadian . Your the only game in Canada that I know of. Thanks in advance if you are possible to help. Bryan.

GCMRacing1 clever idea thanks for sharing
What is the body painted with
red primer
GCMRacing1 - Scale Truck RC in Canada are you able to tell me the exact one you used for the red primer? Thank you, sir
how did you put the 1.55 tires on the 1.9 wheels?
Are you getting the interior and you as a driver from Brian Almeida at exclusive rc / the scale king.
Not for this. This build is very old and long gone.
How much for this car brother
Ahow did you hinge the front end?
