    I watched that crash. I still can't believe you weren't concussed, and kudos to Bell for an awesome design.

      The helmet definently saved me from a serious head injury.

    I crashed with super DH on tarmac at speed of 60km/h , i practically flipped over and slided on my helmet. I had multiple contusions but my head and neck were absolutely ok. Great helmet!

      Glad to hear that you were alright. It's a great helmet and it sounds like it did it's job!

    Just had a big crash yesterday with my Super DH. Hit so hard at first I was in doubt if I broke my skull, but nope head was fine and helmet only a little broken (will replace off course!). Struggling with a long term concussion from an earlier crash 10 years ago, it is always a huge fear to get a new one, but it seems like that Mips Spherical system did it's wonders and saved me this time🙂

    Bought a size S and M, I am surprised by the "play" and increased apparent laxity when I practice thrust my head. Is the intent of the MIPS spherical so that the outer helmet can rotate separately from the internal layer? Doesn't feel as sturdy as my prior helmets which don't shift on my head.

    Recovering from a concussion myself. Very similar spill but I think I was coming around a berm. No memory of that day tho. Anyhow, I’m thinking that DH rated is the only way to go and that a full face would be smart. Have you tried the Bell Full-10? I was interested in the super DH spherical, but I don’t think I’d like the feeling you described of sitting on top of the head. ProFrame looks great. No removable chin bar but that can be seen as a benefit. Getting out for a baby ride tomorrow to see how things go. Thanks!

      @@jefftait7812 Damn, I’m glad you’re ok at least. Big crashes with head injuries are no joke. I’ve never tried the Bell Full-10, but I’d imagine it’s pretty good. ProFrame is a super nice helmet; another helmet to consider is the Smith Mainline, its light enough and has good ventilation to pedal in and it’s also DH rated (it’s my bike park helmet). Good luck on your ride and let me know which helmet you decide on!

    Question: does the warranty only works in USA or does it also works in Canada Amazon?

    • @BikeHombre
      @BikeHombre  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From my understanding for a warranty item I would contact the company that you bought the helmet from. If it's a crash replacement, the website it's only available for US customers. But also says to contact a local Bell distributor about available programs in your region. So if you have a crash replacement I would contact any local bike shop near you that sells Bell helmets and I'm sure they would be able to help you with a replacement with a discount.

    I'm struggling with fit. Do you still have this helmet ? If so, with the strap buckled, and if you push the chinbar up with one finger from below : how much can you lift the helmet ?

    • @BikeHombre
      @BikeHombre  ปีที่แล้ว

      When I have the strap buckled and the helmet tightened the chin bar moves about 1/2”-1”when I push up on it. So there is a tiny bit of movement, but my carbon downhill full face helmet does the same. Hope this helps!

      I originally bought it from JensonUSA.

    I measurred 58cm for my head and ordered a M helmet. I got it today and I got the feeling it will rip my ears of when I try to pull it on or off.
    Also, when I got it on and open my mouth, my cheeks will be pushed between my teeths, so I think I will bite into my own cheeks badly on a crash event. I already put on the smaller pads that was in the package.
    Is this normal with full face helmets or should I try size L instead?
    Thanks for your help!

    • @BikeHombre
      @BikeHombre  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It sounds like it’s too small. I recommend sizing up. The Large will fit 58-62 cm, so you should be ok

      Thanks for your answer. The only thing that worried me was the super thight fit on the cheeks and that they will be pushed right between my teeth as soon as I open my mouth or only got the teeth apart. I fear that I will survive a crash but will bite into my cheeks. Its really tight. I ordered now the L one and see how it comes out. Thanks again!

      It comes with a GoPro mount on the top of the helmet. There might be some lights that have an adapter that fits.

  • @tanakax25
    @tanakax25 ปีที่แล้ว

    Would you recommend it over the Smith?

    • @BikeHombre
      @BikeHombre  ปีที่แล้ว

      Smith makes great helmets; two of my riding buddies have them. If you’re looking for a convertible helmet that can be used as a half helmet or full face then the Bell Super DH would be my choice. But if you’re only looking for a full face, the Smith Mainline is a really nice helmet that is on sale right now. You really can’t lose with either

    • @tanakax25
      @tanakax25 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BikeHombre I just realized the Smith is full face and not convertible lol, I guess I just assumed because they both came up when I searched for the super dh.
      I might just go with the IXS is I go full face all the time. I'm just looking for city ebike protection, not too much trail riding.

    • @BikeHombre
      @BikeHombre  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tanakax25 IXS makes really nice stuff as well. Just throwing in a couple more options: Leatt MTB 1.0 is a nice helmet that is really lightweight and you can buy for $70 on Amazon right now. Also, the 100% Status is on sale at Planet Cyclery for $49 (retails for $175).

    Is there a Lifespan of this helmet

    • @BikeHombre
      @BikeHombre  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      MIPS recommends at least every 3-5 years replacing your helmet due to general wear and tear and exposure to the sun. The Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends between 5-10 years.
