I just got hired on as a field tech. Starting pay is $20.50 unless you get second shift premium for an extra $1.25. My goal is to be a Maintenance Technician.
@@hidros1461 entry level position (field technician 1) is $20 an hour. You can progress by taking courses up to Tech 6. Every time you move up it’s a 10 percent raise. I’ve been doing this for a year and a half and now a tech 5.
This guy is crazy smart, he walked into our class and was just firing from the dome non stop I believe he’s an engineer as well lol oh and they actually start you at $25 then make it $27.50 when you pass the beginner training.
for clarification: Field Tech's make upwards of 38$, before annual raises (That caps around $45). Maintenance is another 5%, plus 20% for the progressions. 5$ is added for overnights. SO, roughly speaking, you'll make 53$/hour. Plus crazy On Call bonus and overtime. All this can achieved in a year if you're an extremely skilled Tech.
$50 an hour for being a line tech for 3 years?? Christ I have been with my cable company 21 years and I am not near $50, above $40 but not near 50. I think maybe it might be time to fine a house in the Spectrum system.
I work for Spectrum but and this position is always full. they almost always want you to have a degree and I have my BA and still waiting on this position. I hope i get it soon.
Yep, all you have to do is pass the test to promote. You can push 50 and hour, crap slow tech or super tech we all get paid the same. There is no incentive to go above and beyond.
He forgot about ft 5 and 6 your best bet is get to a ft 6 before trying to get into maintenance or construction to get the highest pay possible you’ll leave that extra base pay off the percentage on the table if you don’t
Seems like a genuine dude. I wonder if they pay that much in my area
They do if you have at least four years of experience. If more than you need to go make that money.

Should transfer to become an engineer he already has the real life applications

Midnight to 9am?? F THAT!
For $50 an hour though, worth it for the right person
that's an easy schedule and easy money
Less traffic going to work, the remaining morning traffic at 9. AM.
Just got hired for a Spectrum MT position for the same shift after 6 years with the company. Trust me, it's worth it.
they offer morning shifts too for maintenance but the overnight guys get a extra $5 a hour
This guy is awesome 😎
