Holy mother load of information!! This video is amazing! A 30 min video makes my head spin. I have ADD and I kept getting distracted. But once I was able to sit through and watch you go over the feature.. phew! learned a lot! Thank you! For creating this!
Hi, Thank you for excellent video. I learned a lot about commands and use if shift and Alt keys and others that I did not know they existed. For me and as begiñner, you were going a bit too fast and I had to stop and repeat many times. As suggestion, if you can slow down a bit, that would be great. Otherwise, a great tutorial and I really like Rhino. I have studied AutoCad, inventor, fusion 360, solid works and now trying to shift to Rhino simply because I can buy the software instead going to see subscriptions that can add up quickly. The only thing that I did not like so far is extrude of curve using a curve. I do woodworking and typically I draw my profile perpendicular to rectangle and I extrude my profile around the rectangle and I end up with mitered joint at each corner. That is not the case in Rhino. I had to create a cutting curve and do a lot of trimming to get mitered look at each corner. Thank you Mimi
very nice tutorial John, but the same like Jelena I can't find out how to draw a 3D curve in perspective mode. It's makeing me creasy :) HELP and give us the answer. Best regards Piotr
hey, want to say sorry for my english first. u should press ctrl and draw a line, which will be in the same plane until u press lmb, and than u will start to choose height

why don't you just make the curve in front view? Otherwise in perspective , if you move your cursor upwards, it automatically snaps between horizontal and vertical. Also , keep planar mode on. If you have anything else you want to ask.. just ping me on my channel.
... hit the control button ... and KEEP it pressed then draw and see what happens ;-) it took me also a while ... but the line goes into the z direction ...
is it possible to do surface between 2 closed curve ? for example i have a square and a circle and i want to create a surface between them , edge surface doesnt allow me to make this with closed curve , and I can't find the solution :( can some1 help me ?

ok networksrf is a pain in the ass. the mac version is NOTHING like that. you just basically hit networksrt and it did it. mine is not doing anything even though I gave it three different curve! UGH!
***** Unable to create surface. NetworkSrf requires three or more curves in each direction. so freaking done with Rhino mac. Windows look so much easier to work around
one of the best tutorials i have watched for Rhino. Thank you very much, John!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I had a project I could not figure out planar surfaces until I saw it here! Thank you!
Amazing tutorial!!!
Very clear and concise.
Thank you very much John.
this tutorial saved my life. Learning rhino has been so annoying coming from mesh modeling thanbk you so much
Excellent tutorial. Thanks for explaining the basics in a swift and easily digestible manner.
This video of yours helped me a lot. Awesome work. And Thank You.
Great video, you should do more tutorials. you are pretty good at it and at this software!

this has helped me so much, thankyou
nice. you make any videos with organics - flowers or leaves? animals?
lifesaver, thank you
How do you add thickness to a curve polyline? Like how would you extrude that?
appreciate your work. thanks
love the tutorial
might want to get a mic though
I need learne more about control points in sufaces...

Nice job, very helpful!
pretty amazing video :)
How do I take a plane xy surface and control faces on the z plane with control points?
hey, want to say sorry for my english first. u should press ctrl and draw a line, which will be in the same plane until u press lmb, and than u will start to choose height
When you are in the Perspective view, how you draw the curve verticaly (z axis)?
Just turn on "ortho" mode.
my ortho mode is on but the curve is but d curve is in horizontal wht i have 2 do?
why don't you just make the curve in front view?
Otherwise in perspective , if you move your cursor upwards, it automatically snaps between horizontal and vertical. Also , keep planar mode on.
If you have anything else you want to ask.. just ping me on my channel.
If what others suggested doesn't work for you, it could be this: discourse.mcneel.com/t/elevator-mode-on-mac/6262/3
(solved it for me)
... hit the control button ... and KEEP it pressed then draw and see what happens ;-) it took me also a while ... but the line goes into the z direction ...
how do you lift a curve off the plane in presective
Easyto understand the use of commands.
Thanks, can rhino convert surface to solid?
Thank u!

Help please! I cant draw curve in more than one planar (in perspective view), do you know why?

How to find surface area?

Rhino for windows is definitely more intuitive..though I use both!
hitting control does not lock my xy coordinate so that I can move into the z axis. does anybody know how to fix this????
did you firgure out how to do it? I am having the same problem.
Hold ctrl and click at the position you wish to move in the z axis. This can also be combined with the tab and shift functionality.
nice
When i draw all carve in TOP view. I see only one or two carve up and down
i need total shell plate created expansion video :-)
I believe what you call "interpret" curve is actually interpolation curve
Patch it is. Thanks
wHY ISNT RHINO PAYING YOU FOR THIS TUTORIAL?> SERIOUSLY THANKS
invest in a good microphone
Very boring
