Where I fish, a year ago, the 3+ largemouth were crushing topwater. This summer---not so much. So recently, I started throwing a jerkbait (shadow rap 11 in black/silver) and have had great success. I'll retrieve it much like a fluke when they're schooling, and it seems to draw the bigger fish. Just recently, I made a cast, turned to talk to my buddy, and a 4.3 pounder exploded on it while it was just resting on the surface.
Interesting good stuff! I have a schooling video edited up and will be out next week but since then I have caught them on two baits that is not mentioned in the video 🙃🙃. One is a jackall riser.

This morning I had fish hitting a dropshot with a white finesse worm. Got broke off by a big one too.
I’ve caught them in walking baits and buzzbait lately.

@@TheFishingCoach all good, 2nd time its happened in the same creek on lake Lanier. I think there are some big bass and/or maybe striped bass in the creek. I’ve caught some 3+lb spots and largemouths on 10lb. Upped my line to 15lb fluoro when I got home. Switched to a stronger knot as well.

Yeah I noticed that but I have not had an issue at all! There was a social clip on their page where a really good glidebait fisherman picked up one of the rods and mentioned that. He even said this can throw way more then what it says.

The hover rig has been the bait the last 2 weeks. I just see it happening throughout August. Also just going through my experience with this month. When I go back through my pictures and logs…. The crankbait has caught some bigs! The spoon did well for me last august. I did not mention it due to people probably sick of me talking about it 🤣🤣

I own a basscat but I do fish in a Ranger quite a bit. Futrell marine the marine dealer I work with has rangers. A good friend of mine is the one you have seen me in. His son and I fish together often. That clip you speak of was from last august (23) my boat was getting serviced and I used this ranger for a week 👍🏽
