It's amazing how clearly Shakespeare's genius shines through when his work is properly acted and not just recited by bored high school students who could not care less.

Over a year and not one single downvote. Good, I don't have to go medieval on anybody. Allam is an utterly fantastic actor.

I don't know why but I always see this guy around... I live in California and in the last 3 years I've been to the UK twice. Saw him out and about both times. The first time walking around in Oxford, on a break from Endeavour filming I guess, and the second time he was sitting at a table next to me in a restaurant in Soho. :)

Great actor, whether doing comedy (Thick of It) drama (Endeavor) or proper stag acting!

Great voice, great actor. But the register is way too subdued for the actual scene. Lear is a lot crazier and wilder in this scene.

Never liked Shakespeare, please don't tell me that i am getting into it. His collected works have been gathering dust in my library for at least 15 years.

This isn't acting. This is reciting. You might as well be listening to the radio. Where is the emotion other than the one level he "plays" this? This is high school level acting and nothing more. Someone below wrote "chills." Really? Thank you, next!
