In norms last special, Nothing Special, Dave Letterman asks if he had ever done that material before, and I was thinking Yes! Don't you ever go on the TH-camr? Somebody get Dave a computer and get him on the ww . TH-cam .whatever
He had the most oblique sense of humor, no boundaries and no ego. He was brilliant but abided by his theory that Imany comedians try to come off smarter as the audience. He could find humor in some of the most mundane subjects and drive you into hysterious laughter.

What a collection!
Norm mentioned Matlock A LOT. Whenever he needed a TV show to throw into a joke it was always Matlock. I can probably find 20 instances of Norm talking/joking about Matlock.

It remubds me of how i used to listen to Bill Cosby albums in the 60s as a boy. They never got old, like a favorite movie, or tv series like Star Trek or F Troop. But when you become an adult, an older adult, you don't listen to things over and over. But here are these recordings you are presenting, and i know the routines but i still keep coming back. I can't really explain why, other than Norm MacDonald, a guy who was cut down before his time, had something, a soul.
Not to get too deep but In hindsight, so much of his material the last few years was him working things out with own mortality…and wondering what Seth Meyers would do.

I can only refute one thing in this set - Norm claims that no one likes turbulence on planes, but besides takeoff and landing, that's my favorite part. Smooth flying is boring. I absolutely love it when the plane just suddenly drops, or gets all shaky. That's when I feel like the pilot is really earning my fare. Plus all the people around me get concerned, which is fun to witness. If you're so scared of flying, why the hell did you get on an airplane? I'd pay extra if flights advertised one barrel roll per hour, just to keep things interesting.
