- We are a couple traveling full-time through out the USA. We live full time in our Heartland Big Country 29.50 5th wheel. Older video's show our adventures when we lived in our truck camper for 5 years. The move up to the 5th wheel has been an exciting move and our life style has changed just a little over the years of being on the road, all for the better! Have some fun and step back in time to when we first started our nomadic life style and then come join us as we continue to post video's here on TH-cam.
In this video: Once again no map no directions and we're hungry. Follow along as we navigate through the maze of downtown South Haven, Michigan's waterfront only to find out that the restaurant we're trying to find may not really exist or has closed it's doors. And Punkin has gone mad and out of control, lol! Not really but she has decided that when the parents are gone she can do what she wants, lol!

This randomly popped up on my TH-cam so, since I'm from South Haven, I decided to watch it. 😊 For future refrence, the Idler's food is sub par anyway. And the last time we went there, there were spiders and webs hanging down everywhere! 😬 It's not kept up well. South Haven Brew Pub has the best food in that particular area. Their burgers and wings are the best! The mac and cheese burger with sweet chili sauce especially. 😉 Our favorite restaurant in town however, is an Italian place called Maria's- so good! Stick with traditional spaghetti and their homeade meatballs and or Italian sausage- perfect. (And I'm not normally a pasta person.) Also, Taste is amazing and never disappoints either. My favorite foods there are the perfectly cooked steak bites, the beet salad, their hummus, and sushi. 😊 And if you're in the mood for Mexican- you need Los Ranchos' pork carnitas and margaritas! 😁 🍹 😋 Thanks for visiting! Oh! One more important foodie advice, lol, the Golden Brown Bakery has the BEST cream cheese danishes ever! Sadly, I've been gluten free now for about 2 years so can't enjoy much of this stuff now but, Maria's does have GF spaghetti! Woo hoo! 🥰

I just finished watching your video of South Haven, Michigan very neat tour. I did notice Scott did some serious research on the Lighthouse. If you are interested in seeing the inside of a , non-working Lighthouse the Big Sable Lighthouse in Ludington State Park in Ludington Michigan is an awesome tour, I think I mentioned it in an earlier comment I mentioned on your channel? I would check at the State Park registration office to find out if the Lighthouse is open for tours and what hour's it is open. As always I look forward to your next video you post. No wonder the restaurant went out of business. No one could find it, too bad. The lighthouse was very cool.
Thank you for explaining the flag system. Lake MI is a very dangerous lake, the rip currents are deadly. Many tourists die every year, that don't pay attention to the flags. There is a very nice bike path that starts in Van burn St Park and will take you into town South Haven.

Same way the Grand Haven lighthouse is in Grand Haven S.P. About 30 min drive north of Holland, MI. Holland has a lighthouse too at the S.P. there.

Most of the places that we used to go to before the plague are now closed. Places that had been open for decades closed up in small towns and now there is no place open there. Punkin was waiting for you. I use playlist of channels that will do a playlist of all of their videos for our pets entertainment when we are gone. They do not care if the ads play either.

What a nice inviting 'lil town. I rather like the "lost" tours the best. They're fun! Especially when Scotty stops to look at what I thought was a Chevy Nova SS(?) Enjoyed the history about the lighthouse & the structure. Interesting. I thought something was coming coming up out of the water for a second while you were standing there, it was actually a splash. I Love all 3 of you too! Looking forward to your next video. (P.S. I'm getting to see more of Washington state. It's a beautiful place. )

Have only been to Michigan one time ...Explored the St. Joseph and South Haven areas...Was bad weather when i was there where the lake looked like an ocean with waves coming over the cement out by the lighthouse...Went out there but didnt stay long as it made me nervous...Ending up hanging out at a bar up the main street from the lighthouse there...Travel safe, be well...
If your still in the area you need to go to Saugatuck ( artsy and specialty shops with lots of eateries)and St Joseph Michigan.( same thing here and an antique carasel still in use on on lake front) We love these towns. We actually just had lunch in south haven the a couple week’s ago. Enjoy

Didn’t know that you were still in the area during The Blueberry Festival! My friend and I went to South Haven for a daytrip August 12. We didn’t realize that the festival was on. We went to a church book and bake sale and then headed back closer to home when we couldn’t find parking. So had lunch in St Joseph. Loved seeing your adventures.
We had planned on eating at Clementines but we ate at Clementine’s Too in ST Joseph.
im so happy went to south haven, our little slice of heaven in michigan...............Kilwins is known for its chocolates in MI, and their fudge is a must! AND nice to see you did a lighthouse, that is another one of MI's must do list! Those lighthouse walkouts are crazy lookin in the winter. IF you are headiing north along the shore line, REMEMBER MAC DUNE RIDES.......good for all ages........and a historic viewpoint of the dunes!
Really interesting history of the lighthouse and very true the Great Lakes have ferocious storms especially in winter. Nice little town sorry about the blueberries . Love Punkin cam! So funny and sweet you leave the tv on so she hears voices. She is quite the jumper for her petite size. Happy travels you three.

Gee that is a wonderful marina area with all kinds of boats. At least you had a great view where you eat. To bad you couldn't go into the light house as that would have been fun. Down in Corpus Christi, Tx they have built a new light house and when finished I love to go down there and see it. Hopefully a person can go inside. The water up there looks really nice as well as for fishing. Have really enjoyed this and thanks. Great new intro but still emotionaly connected to the very first one. Hugs to Punkin the explorer. Grand Haven's Snug Harbor, Butch's Beach Burritos and the Bel-Mar right on the beach (amazing sunsets)! All easy to find. lol Cool drawbridge! You would love to live in the lighthouse at GH. 💝 Very cool you made it to the boardwalk in SH. Glad you're having a good time!

Beautiful town.☆ Every time I pass on sugar I pat myself on the back. Good choice. My arthritis symptoms increase with too much sugar and fried food. I still Love it, but just like you I have to stay moderate.

It has nice beaches, but its a very expensive tourist town, always along wait for restaurants. Captain Lou's has great food.

Yes, South Haven is very confusing.
I live near by in Paw Paw and have been to South Haven lots with my son. My son knows where to go to eat and drink but I have a hard time just wandering around trying to find places to eat. But it is a tourist town
so everything has real cost and if you want it it will cost you. However walking out on the pier is sometimes safe and other times very unsafe.
