My family spent several vacations in South Haven. I remember the resorts like Fidelman's. There used to be cottage rentals near the beach. The beach on Lake Michigan is great. The penny arcades are long gone. There were nice old fashioned hotels like the Biltmore that are just a memory.
Love my hometown! Our blueberries are the best tasting I have ever had! If you go to Clementine’s, try the Black-Eyed Jack as well (and I know the secret batter but I’m not telling)!
Thanks to John and his team for putting this production together. The timing was great as I will be visiting South Haven and the surrounding area for a few days this week. I was excited about visiting, but having seen this video I cannot wait to visit. While I am mostly visiting as a result of South Haven's history and maritime history, I am DEFINITELY visiting that onion ring place (maybe some Blue Moo after that) lol. Thanks again for sharing and well done.
John I love you and all your show's, I have been to many of the places you have featured and you defiantly have a eye for the communities. The only thing I can say my friend and I know it's part of you, but stop being so touchy feely with people, It's very uncomfortable for some folks. There is a reason the Fonz didn't like being touched.
At 27:30 he cracks a joke “touch me again you’re dead”......he’s a friendly guy but he should really take his own advice. He’s hurting his friendly personality by taking liberties with everyone’s private space.
Here's a suggestion. Put up with it and learn how to tolerate different kinds of people. This "oh my private space' is over the top. In the old days we had little old aunties, friendly neighbours and others who patted your back or stood very close to talk to you. Learn some manners and put up with it. Contrary to popular opinion the world is NOT made up of 'abusers'. Thanking you for your attention. (-:
You are a treasure, John McGivern.
