    Hiya. I need some advice and hoping you can help. I'm seriously considering buying a bike privately without seeing it. I live in West yorkshire and the bikes located in Somerset. What are the dos and don't. I'm totally lost with it

    • @Budget-Cars-And-Bikes
      @Budget-Cars-And-Bikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Firstly... has it had the Manual Camchain Tensioner Modification done? is there any history? when (if ever) did it last have a valve clearance service? how are the tyres? have you checked the old MOT's online yet? (check for advisories) make sure you do a HPi check to make sure it's not been crashed or stolen in the past, ask the seller to send you a good quality walk around video to highlight any negatives, scratches/scuffs/dents or dings, rust issues etc etc, and also ask for a cold start video to listen out for chain rattle when cold. if you need help with a courier give me a shout. Hope this helps, and good luck 😀

      @@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes thank you for your response. It's a triumph 1050. Seller says its had pudding cable upgrade plus reg/rec and stator upgrades done. Not much in way of history. I've asked for a walk around video but he said he's been doing viewings today and tomorrow. If it's still for sale tomorrow I'll ask again. I'll pay for full hpi Check then. I'll definitely need advice with transportation. How and when do u pay money to buyer?

      @@jayfox9779 Sorry I assumed you were buying a VTR1000 - again check to see if it's had a valve clearance service (12k on the 1050 engines) the rear suspension can be a weak point on these too, has it ever been serviced? headstock bearings can also start to get loose, I use www.totalcarcheck.com for my HPi reports, as to when to pay the seller, I never put down any deposit when buying like this, I arrange a courier and do a bank transfer when the courier has arrived at the address and inspected the bike. If you drop my a message on insta or via e-mail I can put you in touch with the guys I use. Should be around £160 for your job 😉(no idea what a "pudding cable upgrade" is!) good to know it's had the reg/rec and stator upgrade, I wonder if there are invoices for that? people tend to say all sorts to sell a bike, but then say they did it all themselves so no proof!

      @jayfox9779 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats why there is the MCCT Mod... that is a must on these! the reg/rectifier can be an issue on pretty much any bike in my experience, but again there is an updated One you can fit in minutes to sort that out 🙂

    • @davapod
      @davapod ปีที่แล้ว

      The auto cct's are notorious, as are the self boiling rectifiers (same with the VFR 800 pre vtec). Luckily mine came with MCCT's and a quality replacement rectifier.👍

      Bottom Line Honda built a motorcycle that only runs to 30,000 MI once they get in that range you're playing Russian roulette every time you hit the start button but what I don't get is Honda's perfectly okay and it seems like everybody is okay with it nobody wants to fight for a recall I just bought one of these fucking motorcycles spent $5,000 on it lasted me 2000 miles bought it with 28,000 thinking that's low soon as they hit 30,000 on my way to Loon Lake clack clack clack clack done look it up it's all over the Internet these are 30,000 Mi bikes unless you modify them but that shouldn't be up to us that should be up to Honda call the recall.... it's unacceptable and I'm not going to stop until Honda makes it right I worked hard for that freaking money 2 years of saving for 2000 miles of enjoyment and then 24 hours of living hell on my way to Loon Lake in the middle of nowhere bear and Mountain Lion Country walking down the Road at 3 in the morning I see a huge bear shit right in the middle of the road I'm still fucking traumatized laugh you think I'm joking it was literally the worst night of my fucking life and Honda's perfectly fine with it

    This is what I don't get we all know that they don't make it past 32 33 thousand miles videos are all over the Internet this is a 30000 mile bike once they hit 30,000 or 33 the timing chain tensioner goes out and they blow up but nobody wants to get behind me on this recall I know they stopped making them an 05 but still does not make it right Honda owes me a motorcycle. I took the best care of that like I do all my bikes I got two thousand miles out of it spent $5,000 nobody wants to get behind me on this Recall why? A bike should last longer than 30,000 miles Honda owes me a bike or Fix-It recall something you can't tell me it's okay to buy a bike at 28,000 miles I write it for a couple thousand and it blows up right at 30,000 miles just like all the videos say but I did not see before my bike blew up I can send them to you this page all day long it is a known fact these bikes do not make it past 30,000 miles unless you change that sh-t out
