Drums and bass are like chocolate and peanut butter. Helps when the melody and harmony is built entirely on bass, the drums don't have to work against anything. Even regardless though Jerome has such tasteful playing, it fits their prog vibe but doesn't feel as overdone as some other bands. That drum sound is also immaculate, the snare is loud and has a ton of pop but is never quite overpowering.
This band has changed my entire view of bassists and what they bring to the table musically. Also the “My cat lets me sleep on the bed” shirt really speaks to me 😂

I love how back in the old days people were shocked to see a triplet on a bass..."like that was so freaking fast!! you can't play fast on a bass"..... and now.... we have the example above. Great job yall, that's hard work paying off! (way more than just trips in there :)
Love the bass VI ending. It'd be cool to pair up a bass VI and piccolo bass and see what you got, with the more guitar-ish sound in the lower register and the bass an octave up.
