LG 21" CRT TV LOUD ARCING OR POPPING NOISE PROBLEM

Troubleshooting a LG 21" CRT TV having a HIGH VOLTAGE, LOUD ARCING around the ANODE CAP. Hopefully this will help some of you GUY'S to save your old CRT TV and must do it safely.

I want to THANK YOU a lot ! I had the exact same problem on a Grundig that I found on the street. It would not turn on and make the same sound. I discharged the tube, cleaned everything with water and soap (except the tube), and follow what you said in your video. And now it is working perfectly. Thank you so much !

Good repair. You can also add some silicone to prevent it in the future.

This is usually what fixes my problems with arcing on CRTs. It's the easiest path to take first, as I hate re-capping board! So tedious -_-

I found one that does turn on, but not only did it have the loud sparking problem, but the sparking is very visible on the edges of the screen (almost electrocuted me), and the whole thing only displays in green color and is VERY blurry. I have a bad feeling about this.
It's still in a random driveway as of now

What about if it makes popping sounds followed by a black line every 30 seconds? I’ve heard that it’s a bad flyback but can it be this as well?

My old lg tv (2009) is constantly making 'shhhh' sound ( at high volume at first switching on and gradually reduces it to a medium sound). Is it danger that I should repair it immediately ?? Please answer sir

Yes its a high voltage leak from the flyback transformer anode cup.. Call a qualified technician for safety measure..

this solution can only work in the dry season not wet season so yes it is part of how to fix it but it can not work when it is wet or cold season

I was just sitting here, letting my PS2 run in attract mode basically, and idk if my CRT overheated or what but it let off a weird high pitched sound almost like steam escaping a pipe, then the screen went blank. Wouldn't turn off, had to unplug from the wall. The next day it turns on and works just fine...
Do these overheat? What can i do to prevent that?

I’m no expert but i know they can overheat but it would have to be on for a long time unless it is not getting the right ventilation check it’s not dusty or it could be an issue with the capacitors not too sure though

I had a TV that had to "warm up" as a kid xD. It would flicker and spat for a half hour so we would turn it on walk off then come back when it was done being stupid lol. Looking back probably wasn't smart it probably could have exploded
