A lot of places in Hawaii look “worn” on the outside. Inside? Yumminess, good people and lots of smiles! Aloha!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NISSHODO CANDY STORE!! 💜💜💕💜
So wonderful to hear this shop has been around for 100 YEARS...amazing!! For a family run business to last 100 years...it's about both the ALoha spirit the family gives to the comunity & the greatness of the food.
maybe get a food truck to sell your wonderful product to the surfers & beach goers?? Maybe NOrth Shore...lots of surfers up there. Check out the Sunrise Shack north shore maybe they can help sell your product to the surf tourist.

I am a retired 68yrs old man. Now just trying to hold on to the good old memories. When time are simple. Now itwill be so different to our next generation . Even swimming and surfing, that we took for granted. Are replaced by restrictions and the different mind set of our youth. Good article. Thank you ☺️

Hawaiian family run food is an endangered National Historical treasure.
Always heard that mochi was made by rabbits pounding with wooden hammers under the full moon. Watching them make it in a steel mixer was a little like finding out your parent are Santa.
    Aloha!

It’s true I’ve seen them....they don’t show themselves to just anyone but if you have the right kind of eyes;)

There was an elderly man called "Tommy" (I never knew his last name), who came to visit my aunt(y)'s store Us Is Nuts in Kokea Center; then later on in City Square Shopping Center, across from the Kapalama Canal bridge area. I think that he worked here !
