We have 39 million people here if it wasn’t for people that come from other places that started looting and robbing houses you know convicts from the south and I don’t mean Mexico I mean, red states… also we don’t have those people hunting the first responders like they did in North Carolina. I would’ve left too. You can’t threaten someone’s life and expect them to hang around.

Even if your house was worth $2,000,000 if you wanted to sell it, your insurance will only pay the cost of materials to rebuild the house. My house (not in California) could sell for $750,000 right now but insurance will only give me $300,000 or less to rebuild a comparable home. The land is still yours and does not figure into insurance which also does not cover the cost to re-landscape.

Adding drama for optics so history can say that they weren't abandoned. Hint, this won't fix the insurance scandals, water shortage, and poor brush control that this fire will be remembered for, in addition to its comparison to Gaza. This doesn't help the way the gov thinks it does.

@@tadah98The only time we have helicopters in Helena, Montana is in the rare event of a forest fire and one weekend a month when the national guard flies NE in the morning and back to Ft. Harrison that night. Unlike California, we do not allow people to rob our stores without consequences. You get caught shoplifting ANYTHING and you are arrested and taken to jail. MANY homeowners are fully armed and there is concealed carry. We don’t have riots. I live 400 feet from the forest and they mitigate the fire hazard by thinning trees and burning brush. Last summer I paid $28,000 to have 200 feet of 5 ft. high junipers removed from my property, new weed cloth put down and rocks replaced to remove the fire danger around my house. Doesn’t help that my neighbor has pine trees higher than his house surrounding his home. If his house burns, mine will too in a forest fire if there is any wind.

Now if these people who rebuild their homes, does not put firehoses (one on each side of the house) like the once they have in schools in a closed. THEN THEY ARE STUPID AND ARE ASKING FOR IT. They have a water connection an 2 hoses like that can save their house. One hose to spray water on the roof and the other hose is used to keep the fire away from the house.

Thank you for documenting this. Despite all the naysayers and negative peeps, a ton of good is clearly also coming out of this awful disaster. Great to see the smiling faces of the helpers, many from out of state. Humanity is amazing. Most people do not want to see their fellow humans suffering and many take action to help out however they can. Much love to the TH-camrs and journalists out there showing different sides of this. We all choose what we consume when it comes to receiving our information. You allow viewers to see with their own eyes what’s actually going down. Some might say that all they see are people standing around doing nothing. All I see are people ready to take action when needed. Since I’m not there, and certainly not in charge of making such calls, I’ll reserve my judgements and opinions on who is called where, when, and why…or why not. Keep up the great work! ❤
