I think the blue looks classy and stylish.
I purchased a SIM2 max about 3 weeks ago. It was time for an upgrade to my driver. I was playing an M2. I must say that this is an impressive driver. Played a round today and did not miss a single fairway with driver today. I absolutely love the feel and sound of this driver. I am a senior golfer. I recently turned 73 and my handicap is 10. I recommend giving this driver a try. MH

Bought the sim 2 recently, first shot was right off the toe tore some paint off things are right around the same as last season so right on par

Why not, further down the line, do a fitting of the Sim2 max for yourself, and show us what you can do to get the spin down and efficiency up. What shaft, what loft, moving the weight in the head etc. Just an idea.
just ordered one yesterday after my first driver fitting. my consistency and distance were the best with the sim 2

The SIM2, Cobra RAD Speed, Mizuno ST-Z and the Callaway Epic Speed will be the drivers to beat in 2021
Another great review michael 👍. You seemed to have a higher swing speed and ball speed with the taylormades then other product releases. Was this the club or do you think you were just swinging a little quicker that day?
No got sim2 max vs epic max video coming very soon and speed was up slightly against epic too.

New ping felt like trash to me was pretty disappointed tbh

Sim 2 receiving a lot of hate in the comments this driver looks sexy and let me tell you it hammers. After I got fitted I had to order one.
I'm using a m6 was thinking of the stealth 2 but got a got price on sim2 max £180 will get for £160 not sure to pay £500 for the stealth 2 or just get the sim max 2
Is the 24gram weight changeable in the sim2 max.

Can’t forget the Srixon ZX drivers pretty underrated
A lot of gimmicky designs out there this year. I like the tsi3. Expensive but looks and feel the best for me. Performance wise they are all about the same
@@Dryd-ck1fd ya every year they are the same just cosmetic design change. I’m leaning towards Rad , Epic speed or Srixon ZX7 , thoughts ?
@@wnfakind9197 true, srixon, mizuno etc very good, just don't get the airtime. Performance seems similar with all of them, guess it boils down to what looks right when you hold it

You hit this great! Very far and consistent. I agree with the bottom, but you can customize with better colors to make it look cool
nice video as usual. Do you think some one with just over 90 MPH swing speed could game the Sim 2 in 10.5 degrees? Will go for a fitting of course, but prefer the lower profile of the sim 2 vs the sim max 2. Thanks.
Yes absolutely, really depends on your club delivery and dynamic loft at impact.
Be interesting to see how they would have compared if you had not sliced all the max driver shots. That would change the spin and ball speed a fair bit.

Wonder what happens if you drop the back weight from the SIM2 into the Max? As well, what numbets do you get if you drop say an 8g weight into the SIM2?
Great review as always, Sir! that color scheme is, well, meh. TM will always market heavily to generate sales; however, the performance always comes down to the person on the other end of the stick and that goes for any brand. . Drivers nowadays are getting ridiculously expensive- with an upgraded shaft you're nearing the cost of a full set of irons. Combine the two and youre close to $2,000 before you even get to woods, wedges and putters..the game is expensive enough and sadly i feel the cost of entry is starting to push people away from the game and not leaving enough $ for lessons with a good coach which will have more of a positive impact on the player.
For someone who wants all the latest and greatest I’d agree. But usually people that want that also have money to blow. For anyone looking to break into golf, there is a very large second hand market for golf. On taylormade website last years sim (which some argue is actually still better) is ~25% less than 2021 prices. Probably can get deeper discounts on eBay. If you combine that discount with avg person keeping a driver on about 5 years (you’re not getting custom shaft if you’re just entering the game), you should have plenty left over for wedges, putter and irons and a few good lessons.
Can't say I have seen any review showing it's better than the sim in anyway. They literally have no new tech beides going year in and year out of removing or readding the moveable weights and visual.

Thanks for the review. I'm 68 with 90mph swing speed. Hit my 10.5 425 Max with stock regular shaft good but with high spin. Tried a 9.0 Sim 2 with Atmos 5R (it was the only TM shaft available to demo.. don't know anything about it) and I picked up 10-15 yards. I'm assuming more roll out. I guess low spinning heads aren't for faster swing speeds? Good reason for players to try everything.
Another great review mike. Not a lover of Taylor made..always have been the shop rack club that tries to attract ppl ( white head drivers, paint scheme's etc)
Seems to be a trend of companies doing the opposite to last year's model... TM no sliding weights this year. The Epic now has sliding weights in all models. Think companies are at a point where they're struggling to find something new ( only so many ways to make a driver) plus all drivers go the same distances if hit out the middle
The Callaway Epic drivers have had sliding weights in every model 2017,2019 and this one 🤷♂️

@@waynedouglas256 most of the range did. The none sliding weight range is the Mavrick which replaced Rogue which replaced XR16
the new epic speed doesn’t have sliding weights as it replaces the sub zero so only 2 out of the 3 do just like the 2019 range of epic drivers

It looks like TM and Callaway were more interested in improving forgiveness. Great review, underwhelming expensive product. Can’t wait to see TM’s fairway woods put to the test. Apparently as good as drivers from a distance perspective.

I was spraying my new one all over the face yesterday and it went at least 250 on most remotely close to centre and the terrible strikes even went straight it was insane

All these are very little use to your average to below golfer
Should look at the Callaway Epic max or Srixon ZX5 .
Or the Cobra radspeed XB
What every you can afford. Better spending on a few lessons than wasting money on a new shiny toy. I have the sim max and I bet there is fuck all difference just a wee paint job and new cover.
Try them all. Only way to find out... try one with plenty of loft if you struggle hitting a driver
Go for a proper fitting mate. I only play off 18 and hit my sim2 max like a dream
The original sim was not attractive, and the second is less attractive than that.
They should just take a step back from putting a new driver out every single year and instead create something that isn’t basically the exact same as last years model..plus the colors are terrible, this is an eye sore..but they won’t do that because people will buy the newest shit every single year
These new releases are good for someone like me. Just upgraded from a 1998 Callaway “Biggest” Bertha 😂 your advice would hurt Taylormades bottom line. I mean they are a business trying to survive.

Moving the ball a little more left to right so that tends to increase spin slightly. Plus miss strike tends to be slightly heel and low, again this increases spin.
His speed has gone up too. Speed always induces a touch more spin. Look at his vids from 1-2 years ago, he’s added 2-3 mph in club head speed.
But starting to dropping back 🙁
In recent tests, looks like speed was up around 3mph with SIM2 on Ping G425 and Epic not sure if was the clubs or the day?

I believe Mizuno might be better, I know they are 200 dollars cheaper!
These two flew essentially the same distance with the same clubhead speed in spite of the excess spin. IMO spin is dramatically overrated in drivers in relation to it's effect on performance. Unless you are spinning the ball up into the mid to high 3s, essentially 3 wood territory, spin makes very little difference for distance.

I'm with you!! Looks 💩💩 and very cheap tacky looking 🤮🤮 I moved away from TM when they brought in the twist face. Just didnt like them. Now there just horrible looking.
I'm with you Ian, I didn't like the new Epic Speed and if anything this looks even worse from the underside
@@banditbaker1675 Ping look to be miles apart with them in looks this year. But the noise ping gives off is ear drum bursting 😮😮 looks and feel, and most importantly distance and stability is amazing with the new G25.
@@TTT-Turbo Yep, looks like PING are the Clubhouse leaders at the moment, luckily I have hearing issues so the PING sounds like the rest of them to me

@@jeremykronk7069 my sim2 ended up cracking at the bottom… got refunded and bought a Ping G425. Ping is by far better for me.
I also changed from M4 reg Atmos to SiM2 Max Ventus blue stiff 😎 Wow more stability, confidence and carry - just what I have been looking 4 👀 Really recommend 👍

I’ve got to say that from underneath this driver looks awful. Especially the max. I can’t buy it because the looks remind me of square heads.
Michael- you hit some huge drives with the SIM 2 - you didn't acknowledge how far you were actually hitting the ball. Is there a reason for this?
i'd like to watch drivers review with headweight a 205 grs ans shaft at 44.5 or 45. all this 45.75 shaft with 192 grs heads is BS
Tm sim 2 looks good,you tend to hit the sim 2 a little further with less spin but you didn't say which shafts you were using as I notice both had different shafts.whats the gimmick here?
