This melody reminds me of some traumatizing memories which I want to forget. My brain tries to cut them and paste parts of good ones. It feels like something's missing, but I can't really think about it too much as I start feeling much worse, so I return again and again to the safe, "improved" version.
This is probably in an Eastern European country. Because those flats look communist. It could also be in China. Most Chinese flats look like this, and they are next to each other in large neighborhoods.
