@MisterCaution There have been a few fairly solid analysis videos highlighting Jones’ inability to play with Bedard including seemingly refusing to pass to him when he’s the obvious and only option available at that time. And I get it, Bedard isn’t exactly Bergeron out there at 200 Feet, but he’s a rookie abs the obvious Face of the Franchise and if ANYONE on this roster should be making it a point to gel with and help being Bedard along the right way it’d be Jones, who came into the league with #1 Overall Hype and benefitted from a supportive group in Nashville. Overall, I’d do what I could to offload the guy for whatever assets I could glean for him. To have to coax him into being a leader at this point is likely a fruitless endeavor. I’m sure Toronto will still need an overpaid RHD and if you guys could swing Matthew Knies+G Hildeby+2nd for Jones I think ya take it all day. Toronto has their goalies not named Woll + Muzzin off the books here soon so it’s not an impossible thought. Beyond them idk anyone who’d be willing to give up assets and not need retention.
@MisterCaution One of many examples of the duo not being on the same page, seemingly stemming from PP1 issues and expanding from there. So in the least, ZERO indication would be somewhat off.

I don't think Kane will be as good next season. From the games that I saw, opposing players took it easy on Kane from a physical standpoint as in checks and going hard on him in the corners. I don't think Kane gets the kid glove treatment next season by opposing players.
I could see Anthony Duclair getting a decent deal as well. While he didn't put up a ton of points with the Sharks, his 9 points in 10 games since going to Tampa shows that he can do well if he is playing with more talented players. He might not crack the top 25 list but he's probably not too far off.
What makes you think the wings won’t resign Kane? He seems very happy here and has been one of their best players. I wouldn’t ever count them out for signing him to an extension.
Agreed, he will stick around. There is no way Yzerman lets go of a high producing top line playmaker like him. I think it will be up to Kane in the end and he will probably stick around the DeBrincat.
He isnt a top 25, but one guy who is going to be a great value signing wherever he goes, is going to be Daniel sprong. Hes a guy who can score big goals in your bottom 6, or excel and score tomely goals in your top 6. Hopefully he stays in Detroit, but hes another who will be in for a good raise as well.
He'll be gone from Detroit. His complete lack of effort on the defensive end his whole career is why he bounces around. Yzerman won't resign him. His points/60 is crazy good! He's on his 5th team and he's only 27. It's because he frustrates on the defensive end.

Breadman already unlocked Laffy so now Laffy can be the RW that Mika and Kreids are missing. Which means now Bread can focus on unlocking Kakko next season. Oh, the Rangers don’t need anyone, I’m just thinking out loud..
Reinhart played junior hockey where I grew up and even at 15 when he started there with his older brother everyone could tell HOW special he was! He absolutely deserves the payday he is going to get!!
As a Yotes fan, I'd love to see OEL win a cup with the Panthers first. Also, Pavelski is turning 40 years old and never looks like he ages. Lastly, if we look at Reinhart's previous seasons, could he become another Huberdeau if he signs for 10 million elsewhere 🤔
I know Kane didn’t work Out well in New York. But I always wanted him to play a whole season there and not just try to gel in the last two months before playoffs with the team. I hope Rangers get him again. Most likely they won’t. But I really want to see him in New York a whole year playing with Panarin. Especially what Panarins been doing this year. It would be like magic with a new coach to have Kane and Panarin play together without so much pressure of that reunited magic they had once. Especially if the Rangers go deep into the playoffs next year out be great to see him back in a Ranger jersey.
I could see Tampa going after Sean Walker. Their right side on defense isn’t the greatest, so adding someone like Walker on a 3 year deal at around 4 million would be great. They can have: hedman cernak, sergachev Walker, raddysh perbix
Raddy and Perby are both right handed shots as well. I know Perby plays left side sometimes but having a D Pairing with both guys shooting the same side isn’t ideal.
@@alex-dj9bx They're on the upswing, but this is a guy who has gotten used to low taxes. Also he'll want to contend in year 1. I was picturing more Boston, Washington, Detroit, Maybe even the Penguins could fit him under the cap, if they need to get younger.
I got a feeling Brisebois will try to lowball Him too much! He easily could've given him the Kopitar contract with less term... yet didn't even make an offer! And despite being near PPG this season... that +/- doesn't look good though... and that might be the deal breaker!
Yzerman has mentioned potentially resigning Kane, but he wants to sign raymond and seider first so he has a better idea of the teams finances next season and the years after.
@Siksdev det has more cap than nyr, det has cat who he’s also really close with so that a wash with panarin. Laf is good but so is Raymond. Det has a better prospect pool and is only going to get better while the rags are kinda already in their window. Kane would likely have a bigger role on the wings than in nyr. Him being from buffalo is def a factor but he also played junior hockey in Michigan so he has ties there as well. I def think nyr is probs his preferred choice if he doesn’t resign on det but it’s not a clear decision that he’s leaving det either
@Siksdev obviously the rags are in a better position now. And probs the next 2 years but one the rags he will be 2nd or 3rd fiddle. On the wings he is a top guy. Also they wings had a very bad flu at the same time larks was out so it wasn’t just one guy getting injured
@Siksdev not saying the rags will be bad in 2 years just that the wings will be in a similar spot. And while the rags have a good prospect pool, the wings have a top 3 prospect pool in the league. Also the wings also got a player on the draft last year who was breaking shl records and putting up numbers similar karlsson did. And I know Kane is from NY and that’s a big factor, just also stating that he spent a good portion of his time growing up in Michigan as well, it’s part of the reason why det was on his short list of teams he was ok joining. Again all of this to say that yzerman has stated he is interested in resigning Kane just wants to sign others first. And I agree that should Kane not resign in det his preferred spot would be back with the rags, it’s just not clear that he for sure won’t be back with the wings
@Siksdev I highly doubt that, he’s playing at a ppg still, also the wings can easily give 5m a year and would be more inclined to give it to him than nyr because they have more cap space to use
@Siksdev Pitt is 3 points behind det, it’s the isles who are 1 point back. Also in yzermans press conference following the TDL and the Rasmussen extension it was asked if he was looking to resign Kane and he specifically said that he was looking at possibly resigning Kane and Perron but that no offer had officially been made because he mainly wants to resign the other RFAs in seider, Raymond and to a lesser extent veleno to fully see how much money was available and he also wanted to see where the team was closer to the end of the season. I’m not saying that Kane is guaranteed to resign in Det either. I’m just saying it’s a guarantee that he’s leaving
You might want to talk to Kings fans regarding Talbot. The King's system is totally constructed to minimize goalie skill. He just isn't consistent but can play solid when on.
As a back-up to Hellybuck he has a smaller sample size, but I think Laurent Brossoit with a .928 Pct. and 2.00 GA. would be a solid pickup in goal. Think I would take him over Talbot, the middle aged man who will be 38 next season.
Monahan to NJ is interesting but They need size, and a LD with experience. depends what monahan wants cuz if he wants 4x6 he can kick rocks, cuz fitzy wasnt gonna pay Toff that.
Max Domi? Bertuzzi? would be interested to see where you rank them. They've both definitely slowed down a bit but you can't deny they're great playoff performers
I want Talbot for the hawks, we can’t put Soderblom out there as a backup, hes not an NHL goalie. Talbot would be pretty dheap and could hopefully give us decent goaltending for a year or maybe 2 until Comesso hopefully comes up or maybe even Gajan eventually
As a Jets fan whose second favourite team is the Carolina Hurricanes I wouldn't mind Tarasenko but I don't know if he would have a place in the top 6. The top 6 is STACKED. In the third line we are good with Martinook, Staal and Fast and for the fourth line as much as Tarasenko isn't fourth line skill as he has top 6 skill but where else would he go? Top 6 has Guentzel, Aho, Necas, Jarvis, Svechy and Teuvo. Most likely won't change lines there. Especially whenever Svech starts going crazy good again. He hasn't been now but when he is not a shot a player like Tarasenko would be in there. I doubt this would happen though but if it does I'm jumping up and down as long as we keep everyone else really. Any of that top 6 I would want to keep. Fourth line though has some people that are worth trading.
I agree. They won't be getting rid of Guentzel or Necas since that's maybe 15-20% of scoring. 35-40% Of assists. Teuvo is obviously not producing the same after he did get that mini injury 15 days ago and has returned with like one assist which is fine but he was first line skill before now maybe third line. Still not bad but for sure if you have players like Necas and Guentzel instead why not. Necas is so underrated on that team it's crazy. He is better than Jarvis and maybe eve Svech when all of them are at full non slump for any.
@agentshadow7456 The only 2 Hurricanes I see leaving are Teuvo and maybe Pesce. Necas will stay. Guentzel will be extended. Skjei and Guentzel are tight, so I don't think Skjei will leave. Brett Pesce is 50/50 with maybe a toe out the door.
When you look at which teams have upward trajectory and cap space, seems like someone of note is liable to end up in Arizona. Maybe Tarasenko or Tanev.
I doubt my Rangers would be able to afford that $7M+ for March. Kakko Lindgren and Schneider are all getting new deals and I expect New York to go after a middle six center (like Wennberg) to fill the Chytil void.
Man oh man I would LOVE March on our team, I think he would be a perfect fit!!!!! They would have to dump Goodrow and use some of Chytil's $ if he doesn't come back to the team. Sad there havent been any updates on him.
He's an RFA, it will go to arbitration and probably sign for 6.4 short term. Nobody will want to pay more than that and have to give up draft picks to grab him.
Stamkos doesn’t strike me as the type of guy who would jump to another team just for more money. I think his loyalties are with the Lightening and really wants to finish his career there even if it is for less money.
I still have faith in lindholm. He’s been playing injured and living out of a hotel and even though the production hasn’t been there he’s been solid defensively. Definitely could be a key player in playoffs IF he gets going.
Why does everyone keep linking Henrique to the Bruins? It's been nearly a decade since the rumors started and it never happens. Also we're trying to get younger, not older.
some interesting predictions but why would the canes sign Marchessault if they can keep Guentzel for almost the same amount ? And in my opinion, Myers will end up in Arizona
If you think Vegas ain’t getting Hanifin or Marchessault back, you are delusional. Vegas is realistically going to sign one or the other at bare minimum.
its already been asked but ill repeat not sure what makes you say "seems unlikely red wings will resign Kane" considering there has been multiple spots saying that would be shocked if Kane leaves including Ken Daniels
If I Wes Kent I would do it, remember when your having fun playing hockey with teammates who all think there line mates are better than them make for depth!! ❤
Stamkos and Taven but make aense on Chicago. Over pay both for 2-3 years and then put Stamkos with Bedard and Tanev with KK to atablize their right side D.
Just basing off the thumbnail and my own fan-base basis I think Stamkos is better in a Red Wings jersey than a penguin jersey based off the rebuild windows
Everyone on this list is a pending UFA. Kakko's going to be an RFA still so most likely he's going back to the Rangers...I don't see a team offer sheeting him, though his rights could potentially be traded. I doubt the Rangers lose his rights by not issuing his 2.4M QO.
I’m surprised you didn’t list Seattle as a spot for any of the people. Seattle desperately needs a high end scoring talent and has money and no income tax in Washington. I have to imagine they’ll be in on one of these guys
Income tax isn’t the be all, end all. Washington state has municipal sales tax. On top of state sales tax. You also have to live amongst a large population of dumb liberals and a grey sky 90% of the time.
I kinda thought your comments about Monahan and Tyfolli being on a struggling jets team seemed odd considering they were just a few points outta first. Now enetering the playoffs on a 8 game win streak. Jets will take a crack at monohan but tyfolli is gonna want a big payday
As a preds fan I’d be so excited to sign guentzel and/or Tiffoli In free agency with the amount of cap space we just got from trading Ryan macdonnah it’s possible
Interesting chicago would be on the radar for guentzel but...out of respect for him I think the hawks would not be good right now for him while he is on his prime right now. Maybe somewhere else like panthers or other nhl playoff teams could use him😊
This is a good list but buuuuuddy your forgetting about Tax Reinhart going to stay at florida for 9.5 because thats like 7 million if he goes to a canada team he can get 11.5 but it be only 6.5 a year
Honestly what I really want is for DAL to win the cup this year, so tanev and pavs get a cup. Then have the sharks pick up both of them by over paying at 5 mill each for the next 2 years. Give Pavs the C again and injects some good veteran presence while our new roster starts to take over.
This video became irrelevant right off the bat. Why would Talbot sign in Florida when they have Bobrovsky and knight? They aren't spending 20 million on 3 goalies lol
I really hope my Oilers find a way to extend Foegele, Desharnais, Perry, Gagner, and Pickard, their contracts end after this season. Edit: Don't forget Henrique and Carrick as well
Detroit needs to buy out Holl and Petry and a couple forwards and bring up another defenceman from Grand rapids or sign Tanev. He is the type of defenceman we need. Detroit fans are concerned with #1 signing Raymond, #2 signing Seider and #3 signing Kane.
Why Eichel in Vegas then? Eichel and Hanifin would be deadly in Vegas. It makes more sense for him to stay on Vegas. Tbh Vegas has a longer cup window than Boston does.

Bro, Arizona isn’t even gonna end up in Arizona lol
I doubt my Rangers would be able to afford that $7M+ for March. Kakko Lindgren and Schneider are all getting new deals and I expect New York to go after a middle six center (like Wennberg) to fill the Chytil void.
Man oh man I would LOVE March on our team, I think he would be a perfect fit!!!!! They would have to dump Goodrow and use some of Chytil's $ if he doesn't come back to the team. Sad there havent been any updates on him.
How about necas I think MTL could be a front runner for him this offseason if CAR doesn’t sign him or he could be involved in a trade with MTL
I doubt Carolina will let him go. Between Necas and Turbo, Turbo is probably gone.
@@jessepressler208 Don't forget Jarvis and Guentzel in the mix, and somes of their Dmans.
He's an RFA, it will go to arbitration and probably sign for 6.4 short term. Nobody will want to pay more than that and have to give up draft picks to grab him.
I could see Tarasenko on the Hurricanes
Hopefully:)
He has a home in Miami. He will be looking to stay with Florida
Chris Tanev will go to Vancouver on a 2 year plus one year option, the Canucks letting Hronek go. I see that as an upgrade to the Canuck defense.
I have a suspicious feeling Raymond goes to the caps for 8×8
Raymond is RFA, can not go anywhere
Tyler Bertuzzi and Patrick Kane...where are they? seriously not in the top 25?
Where is Debrusk on your list. He is not going to be a Bruin next year. You dropped the Ball BIG time on this one
Gimme Marchessault to the habs baby, 2nd line with Newhook & Dach 😌
I hope the Rangers aren’t stupid enough to overpay for Marchesault. Bring up Othman Berard and Sykora and the Rangers will be a very lethal team.
We need to upgrade the defense
Stamkos doesn’t strike me as the type of guy who would jump to another team just for more money. I think his loyalties are with the Lightening and really wants to finish his career there even if it is for less money.
No chance he leaves
I still have faith in lindholm. He’s been playing injured and living out of a hotel and even though the production hasn’t been there he’s been solid defensively. Definitely could be a key player in playoffs IF he gets going.
Stamkos takes a very conservative 1-2 year deal in T.O.
Nope, Broadway.
@@MickeyWicked-dj8zh Will the Rangers even have cap space?
tanev and stamkos - future blackhawks? 81 to 91.
As you listed NYR and LAK for Marchy.... both places would be worse as Nevada has no income tax. He can take less in Vegas and still make more.
Why does everyone keep linking Henrique to the Bruins? It's been nearly a decade since the rumors started and it never happens. Also we're trying to get younger, not older.
Agreed last thing we need is another old third line center
Great Video, as usual, Nathan. A very interesting list.
My prediction list:
1. Stamkos - TBL - 3 x $7M
2. Reinhart - FLA - 6 x $9.5M
3. Marchessault - CAR - 4 x $8M
4. Guentzel - DET - 7 x $7.5M
5. Lindholm - BOS - 5 x $6M
6. Hanifin - SEA - 7 x $7.35M
7. DeBrusk - EDM - 6 x $5M
8. Arvidsson - CHI - 2 x $5M
9. Stephenson - WPG - 5 x $5.5M
10. Montour - CAR - 5 x $6.5M
11. Skjei - CHI - 5 x $6.5M
12. Duchene - DAL - 1 x $4M
13. Monahan - MTL - 4 x $6M
14. Toffoli - ANA - 5 x $5M
15. Bertuzzi - STL - 3 x $4M
16. Teravainen - PIT - 4 x $5M
17. Tanev - OTT - 3 x $3.5M
18. Pesce - BUF - 4 x $4M
19. Tarasenko - FLA - 1 x $3M
20. Henrique - TOR - 2 x $4M
21. Zucker - WSH - 3 x $3M
22. Mantha - ARI - 1 x $4.5M
23. Zadorov - FLA - 3 x $2.5M
24. Roslovic - VGK - 1 x $2.5M
25. Myers - TOR - 1 x $1.5M
some interesting predictions but why would the canes sign Marchessault if they can keep Guentzel for almost the same amount ? And in my opinion, Myers will end up in Arizona
Stamkos to MTL, Marchessault to NYI, Guentzel stay with CAR.
If you think Vegas ain’t getting Hanifin or Marchessault back, you are delusional. Vegas is realistically going to sign one or the other at bare minimum.
I'm a PENS fan...I don't see them signing anyone...+..I don't know WHY anyone would sign with the CAPS...both teams heading downward
Vegas will move other players before letting Marchessault walk.
What do the Rangers do with Chytil, will he play again? Do they need to look for a 3rd line center?
They'll probably re-evaluate him in the offseason and get him back on the ice for camp, probably see what happens then?
Chytil already retired !
Chytil announced his retirement already
I honestly see marchessault staying with Vegas
-> Montréal
I'd love to see Reinhart back in Buffalo!!
He is only putting great # because of Barkov ... Just like Huberdeau... Barkov make decent player into all stars
@davidmatteau7696 He's still a good player, & could score 30+ on a regular basis with Buffalo
Not happening
0.oo chance he comes back... I'm a huge Sabres fan but why would he ?
Love getting Hanafin for 8 years
its already been asked but ill repeat not sure what makes you say "seems unlikely red wings will resign Kane" considering there has been multiple spots saying that would be shocked if Kane leaves including Ken Daniels
Rangers
Reinhart isn’t leaving Florida. $9M in Florida goes a long way than other cities
Also Barkov makes him a lot better... Just like Barkov did with Huberdeau
I can see Monahan and toffoli coming back to Calgary to be honest
Ghost-bear to STL? When they already have both Krug (with a full NTC until 2025) and Perunovich? Don't see it.
Hronek is an RFA, and if he was going to sign for 6.5 he would have already
Tanev will most likely go to Phi or Min
Just basing off the thumbnail and my own fan-base basis I think Stamkos is better in a Red Wings jersey than a penguin jersey based off the rebuild windows
I'm an Habs fan and think Lindholm could be a great fit to consolidate secondary scoring and special units play
Nah id rather sign monahan cheaper and i doubt montreal will draft twice at the next draft so most likely someone else is coming
@@amadeussmith693 Resigning Monahan would be a great move.
Kakko is also gonna be a free agent. Do you think Rangers keep him or will another team pick him up
Everyone on this list is a pending UFA.
Drouin struggle on pressure
He stay with colorado or the other option is Arizona
he has it with the avs so yea why would he leave to try and find it with another team would be stupid on his part
I think Calgary have said they are going to do alot in free agency so I can't see most of the teams get anyone you said to be honest
I kinda thought your comments about Monahan and Tyfolli being on a struggling jets team seemed odd considering they were just a few points outta first. Now enetering the playoffs on a 8 game win streak. Jets will take a crack at monohan but tyfolli is gonna want a big payday
Guentzel is coming home, yes he's a Minnesota boy and will be a wild
As a preds fan I’d be so excited to sign guentzel and/or Tiffoli In free agency with the amount of cap space we just got from trading Ryan macdonnah it’s possible
Interesting chicago would be on the radar for guentzel but...out of respect for him I think the hawks would not be good right now for him while he is on his prime right now. Maybe somewhere else like panthers or other nhl playoff teams could use him😊
I really think Guentzel stays in Carolina.
@jessepressler208 I agree maybe teuravainen walks guentzel stays idk how they can keep both
@@aqaz120 Teuvo is probably gone. Seth could probably use some minutes anyway.
Kane potentially going to toronto is a WILD prediction lmao.
Kane will go back to the Rangers for whatever they offer him.
Outside team..Utah for Stamkos
This is a good list but buuuuuddy your forgetting about Tax Reinhart going to stay at florida for 9.5 because thats like 7 million if he goes to a canada team he can get 11.5 but it be only 6.5 a year
Honestly what I really want is for DAL to win the cup this year, so tanev and pavs get a cup. Then have the sharks pick up both of them by over paying at 5 mill each for the next 2 years. Give Pavs the C again and injects some good veteran presence while our new roster starts to take over.
Why would you say Det won't resign Kane? We got DeBrincat for 4 yrs and Kane has done well, not a lock to depart.
If so, it would be a contract issue.
He’ll sign with the Rangers for almost nothing. Rangers win 2024 Cup and he signs two year deal to help with the three-peat.
@@MickeyWicked-dj8zhlol you’re dreaming
😂@@MickeyWicked-dj8zh
Hope Stamkos stays with the lightning.
There’s no way Kane leaves
Dude thinks everyone is going to Nashville or Columbus LOL. Not even.
This video became irrelevant right off the bat. Why would Talbot sign in Florida when they have Bobrovsky and knight? They aren't spending 20 million on 3 goalies lol
Tarasenko just moved 10 minutes from his wife and kids. Doubt he goes anywhere.
When they back up the armored car to pay Reinhart, there may not be much left for anyone else.
I really hope my Oilers find a way to extend Foegele, Desharnais, Perry, Gagner, and Pickard, their contracts end after this season.
Edit: Don't forget Henrique and Carrick as well
And Holloway
Why extend pickard? That Campbell contract is really anchoring that team !
@@Natashaz1285 Holloway? I just saw him play Friday with the Condors.
Desharnais the goat
@@Natashaz1285Holloway is a rfa so he isn't going anywhere the Oilers will hang onto him.
Stammer and Reino are both Panthers, and Monty is gone
If Detroit isn't going for superstars I'd rather just have them go with the young guns next year
WAIT!!! maybe I missed it, you don’t think the Flyers potentially land any of these FA’s???!!!
Would love to see CBJ sign Reinhart if possible under 10mil. Cut Elvis & gudbranson. New HC and top 5 pick
If Buffalo went all in
RHINO and Stamkos on the Sabres
NO
No FA signing with Montreal?
I hope the Flames sign Ghost with all their extra money to like a 1 year 4 million to help their horrendous PowerPlay.
I think montreal has a good chance to bring Monahan back in
Detroit needs to buy out Holl and Petry and a couple forwards and bring up another defenceman from Grand rapids or sign Tanev. He is the type of defenceman we need.
Detroit fans are concerned with #1 signing Raymond, #2 signing Seider and #3 signing Kane.
I'd flip the priority of Seider and Raymond, but yeah, spot on. It's time to give some of the guys in Grand Rapids a shot in the NHL.
Icing appen when da puck come down bang before the other guys my arm goes up and the play stop and start up again
the hunt for bedsys new linemate lol
I think WPG will try and resign Sean and he is willing to play there that is close to home but he might leave for a bigger pay day
Hope the Stammer stays put.
move the core of pittsburg to mtl to win several more cups!
welcome sid, letang, bring back MAF jsut in case. mtl core is just about ready to be good
Imagine that 44 points means big payday. 😳😳
6'5" 230 lbs 20+ goal scorer. That's what he mean by big pay day, 5-5.5 million average for this type of player
Allegedly, Hanifin wants to play in Boston to be near his family. As a Bruins fan, I fully endorse that decision!
Why Eichel in Vegas then? Eichel and Hanifin would be deadly in Vegas. It makes more sense for him to stay on Vegas. Tbh Vegas has a longer cup window than Boston does.
@@abujachad2774 not sure, maybe Eichel likes it over there a lot. I’ve just heard than Hanifin wants to be near his family
Who should Utah sign?
Kane might stay. If he cared about winning he would've gone somewhere else.
