I cannot thank you enough for your iris tutorial. It is the first one of yours that I have tried and I really enjoyed it. I love your enthusiasm and gentle manner when explaining what to do. I was thinking I had lost my painting mojo due to lack of time to paint, but you have brought it back!

I found your channel a few days ago and have really enjoyed your teaching style. I've set myself a goal to paint the same thing every week to practice the skills I'm learning. This video hit the spot. Hopefully, I'll get better over time when I compare the February paintings. I've learned so much about noticing the subtle color differences which I hadn't noticed before. Thanks so much! And since I've just brushed the surface of your channel, it's hard for me to say what I would like to see - anything I might say is likely to be in one of your videos already. I look forward to exploring!

Also, forgot to mention how much I love your background treatment. I always seem to have difficulty with background backgrounds. Thank you so much for showing this to us!

It’s always a pleasure to watch you turn out watercolor masterpieces with mostly the primary colors. Is the Windsor purple you used the equivalent of doxazine purple? Have an amazing rest of your day.

@@user-nj1si6zv8v I truly believe that it needs observation to draw anything. You start from big shapes as Yong shows it in his videos, and slowly go smaller and smaller with it. The last step is putting the details in place.

To substitute Yong’s Winsor Newton watercolor paints use their pigment code and name as follows: Winsor Red (PR254 Pyrrol Red), Winsor Yellow (PY154 Benzimidazolone Yellow), Winsor Blue RS (PB15 Phthalo Blue RS), Winsor Blue GS (PB 15-3 Phthalo Blue GS), and Winsor Violet (PV23 Dioxazine Violet).

I just discovered you and immediately subscribed. Beautiful iris and your demos are so easy to follow. Have a question: I have a lot of blue paint, and would prefer not having to buy another tube. What blue should I use as a substitute for the Windsor blue red shade.?

Hi! I bought brushes and masking fluid, when I tried to use masking fluid, no matter which kind of brush, it always come out too much, and not fin lines, also problem with that fluid being almost white, so I can’t see where I put it, I tried to mix some color on fluid, then leave color on the paper when I took them out, please give me some tip.
    Thank you in advance!

Use Pebeo brand masking fluid , light blue color. To make really fine lines, you can buy masking fluid in a little pen with a fine point.
