You can use oils with some of my techniques. Look to the alla prima playlist. Acrylic techniques I use will not work with oils because the base areas have to be dry.

I have a close relative who is a professional artist. As I have been learning to paint via TH-cam and other internet platforms and have painted from tutorials from a variety of sources, my relative has watched my journey. When he dropped by one day as I was following a Jansen tutorial, he grabbed a brush and started painting along! He commented that of all the different tutorials he has seen me learn from, Mr. Jansen was the most talented and artistic of the lot. I must say that I agree!
Paint the roses several times. The more you do them, the easier they become. And your techniques will get better as you get use to them. Keep painting! 😊
