As someone with no experience in the field of these games and their genre, if I were to start playing off the bat, these are very solid guidelines to adhere to. Very easy to follow guide, quite well balanced when distributing your knowledge in general (since I now have some sort of idea of what to expect from the game should I ever decide to give it a go!) and overall a very nice flow throughout the video that makes it easy for me to give a 5 star review ^.^
Have already pre-ordered the Founder's Edition. Since this is a Civ game (my primary gaming fandom), I already know I'll be getting all the DLCs, so why not pay slightly less now for those now--plus get the juicy, juicy 5 day head start? For me, it's a no-brainer. But yes, there are a great many other flavors of civ fans out there, and the base game (or even waiting for the base game and DLCs on deep discount a few years down the road) may well be the right option for them. Respect to all Civ fans :)
Even with the conversion of AUD to USD, that still makes it $75 USD for the base. :/ Hopefully it comes down a bit if you're interested in playing the game.
A great vid TY, I feel like I already have one foot in the door to the store to buy the new version. I might just be tempted to dip my toe back in the Civilisation pool again! 🤟
Bought the Deluxe Edition. The 5 days early access with DLC coming in March seems very reasonable. But Founders Edition is basically asking you to wait till September for more content, and what if a sale occurs before then? So no thanks for now!
Thanks. I've been leaning towards base game only preorder (to get Tecumseh, as I have studied him some). Hearing you say it may have sealed it for me. Would be nice to have early access, but it's only 5 days.
I'm going to wait until Civ VIII is coming out and Civ VII and all the DLC will be on deep discount. Probably pay $20. Until then I'll continue to play Civ VI which I got on a deep discount.
Did I buy founders edition? yes Does my wallet hurt? yes Do I regret it? kinda Am I going to cancel my preorder because I know I should have just gotten the base edition? No, cuz I want a fancy palace... I'm not smart
Thanks -- It actually was very helpful. I still am waiting until Modern Age is revealed, I'm concerned that it hasn't been shown yet.
I'm hoping we get that age in the DLC's.
What a wonderful video my friend! Well explained and great pace, plus that voice!!!! Congratulations my friend!! 🎉 let's goooo! CivHype!
@pokemontrainermike1 thanks mate!

This video has made my decision a lot easier. Thanks for your advice 🎉
@@BeccaBooX9 Glad to be of help!
Super Informative, Great video. thank you for taking the time, really looking forward to the release!
Thanks for the great video Brad! Really hyped for release!!
We will be playing this together! 100%.... :D
Thank you for the walk-through! I had lost track of release date, but now I know it is soooon!
It's getting very close!
thanks for the great video, hopefully the dlc's are things with content in them and not just 2 packs of leaders.
I hope so too... haha.
You *rescued* me. Thx for tips!
nice info dude! looking forward to playing :)

That's a great way to put it, especially if you know you're already going to get the DLC's.
you're a Firaxes wet dream
What if I don't like having money?
@@Rand0m_Pers0n_0kay The Collector's edition is for you. Or perhaps in your case, Prismatic Evolutions!
Thanks for the concise overview and advice! :)
Thanks Brad I think ill just go for the base game and get the extras when I want them, good advice. :)
That is what I have done. Hard to justify the full price, less than two weeks after Christmas.
In Australia, the base edition is $120, so Firaxis will be getting exactly 0 of my dollars.
How can it be 120 for base edition?
@@MaxHardcore-p7tdifferent countries have different currency exchanges…..

@@MultiBradx wow... Is the Australian economy that bad?
@@MaxHardcore-p7t I'm from the UK so I don't know. But it is odd that they charge more out there :/
None.
Wait 8years for the legacy edition with all cut content dlc at an affordable price.
Or that trusty 93% steam sale!
@MultiBradx that s if the game fares very poorly. 😅

Glad to have helped. Yeah I understand the feeling.
Think i will take your advice and opt for the base edition. Thanks x
@@TracyDavies-x7t I wish I could follow my own advise haha!
I bought the founders edition. It will be cheaper in the long run, seeing as it includes 2 upcoming dlc.
A good way to look at it!
do we know what the price is gonna be for the DLCs?
probably 30 dollars judging from how they priced the editions. But it might be a bit more as a standalone; so, maybe $40?
We don't know yet, but I think what Montie said would make most sense.

@@BobK58 And Civ VI is a great game, I'm currently playing it as we speak!
@@MultiBradx I agree! I've been playing since the first Civ came out. Jeez, I'm old.

@@MultiBradx Aah a fellow man of culture
No regional pricing for 3rd world countries either.
And if you said no to paying an Early Release with a full game release price tag? No Internet WW2/ Technology Age just to sell a DLC is shameless
It does seem like they're angling a "4th age DLC" doesn't it?
