- Greetings Kindred, welcome to another episode of Metaplot Monday. Victoria Ash was a one hit wonder in the 1980s, a power player in the great jewel of the Ivory Tower, Chicago and nearly the Prince of both Atlanta and New York. Victoria gets around.

she was awesome in the victorian age trilogy and you get to see her relationship with a new childer.
Any thing that gives us background on her personality is amazing. I gotta read the Victorian age books.
According to our ST, I just earned the first point in this loresheet.
Our troupe was a bit light this last session, because two of our members were sick and couldn't attend.
So our ST just pulled out separate personal encounters for us remaining two, on the spot.
Mine was was an impromptu visit from Victoria Ash.
To which Avery, my Brujah and now Prince of Biloxi Mississippi, protested that had Ash announced her coming she'd have organized a rave in her honor.
Victoria, immediately charmed, stated that was a delightfully Brujah gesture.
I actually had never heard of her yet, myself. But after some deliberation, it was decided that my character would know her, at least by reputation if nothing else.
My Avery has always been infamous with the upper echelons of the Camerilla for being a powerful autarkis with the backing of an entire pack of Black Spiral Dancers.
But she spiraled into fame in the sect with what they thought was her recorded demise to the SI in 2009.
When the FBI's SAD would dispatch thirty heavily armed agents in a sting operation to destroy the "blankbodies" within a known kindred highway biker bar in north Mississippi.
Long story short; the operation was a huge faux pas for the grossly unprepared letter agency, who would only end up with six survivors of the original thirty to just my ancient Ancilla and a handful of Neonates.
Avery was presumed destroyed (much to the relief of much of the Cam eldership) as she would be recorded on a body-cam at the scene dispatching many agents before succumbing to a relentless hail of agent fire and going torpid.
A video that was later leaked to the Camarilla, and revealed to now be being used as an anti-celerity user training video for the SI.
Avery would awaken from Torpor in 2014, and Victoria Ash would giggle that the woman had been a regular talking point in the Elysium meetings within the American Gulf Coast ever since (it's now 2021 and the height of the Pandemic in our game) and the whole story had piqued her curiosity.
The two got on oddly swimmingly; much to the chagrin of our also French Toreador Primogen, who worships Ash only to be crushed in finding out the woman had never heard of her (oof, devastating lol).
Ash and Avery discussed everything from recent Cam politics (and their obvious differences in how they regard it), to Theo Bell (and Ash's surprise that the pair had personally "thrown hands" several times), their oddly mutual views on the Antediluvians, to even their taste in men (and occasionally women).
Ash lamented that despite being akin to addressing a coiled rattlesnake in nature, Avery was "refreshingly boring and straightforwardly forthcoming" when compared to the usual cloak and dagger meetings with most other Princes.
At one point, Avery wryly joked that this is hardly how she treats her usual dates.
To which Victoria smiled mischievously and said, "Show me then..."
At that point, our ST faded the scene to black, and he said I now had one point in Victoria Ash's loresheet, and could feel free to "flesh out the details" as I saw fit if I wanted.
Avery isn't the type to kiss and tell, though.
That is a hell of a session. Sounds like you have a lot cut out for you with that ST.
@@VoivodeMekhet Oh, he's performing swimmingly, if I do say so myself. His orchestration and manipulation that got Avery put into the seat of a small Princedom (despite her best efforts, trust me) was masterful.
Most STs won't even let me play Avery, anymore. Because at this point I've been playing her for 20 years, and she's quite powerful. I cut him a break a lot too, though, and we switch to a more grounded street level stories. Where I switch to Avery's Childer instead.
For some reason this reminds me of the dark ages toreador quote. To paraphrase “the toreador are not kingmakers, they have no patience for it, they make barons “
Victoria ash is a very unique force in game with more potential plays than I should elaborate on. Here’s the biggest ones that come to mind
Because most elders and players tend to be locally focused and immobile as they accumulate power resources and influence. She is a power that moves along the story changing things as she goes.
This lore sheet at 4 and 5 means she can show up with a party bus telling a player that she herself “is looking at the damsel in distress”while riding in to the rescue with lasers flashing and bass bumping causing such a spectacle with celebrities and family of influential people that even the s.i. Might have a hesitation to take action.
Alternatively I would use this as a way to plot device explain away how the players woke up in a different city.
Or she decides to bring her favorite and their friends on a “little trip” on an impulse. In short she’s there to rearrange the board and get the players (spcs and player characters) scrambling to adapt. One way I as an st would work with this is that all the ghouls went onto a party bus and vanished to another city…
Was it s.i., was it Victoria Ashe, was it the circulatory system, was it sabbat, was it thin bloods? Or the ghoul(s) in question experience kindness and presence at the same time and want more… (cough lasombra ghouls)
Pretty much get out of jail not free card if the players mess up in one city, disrupting current city politics or status quo, or a Rick and north “it’s your turn we’re going on an adventure “

Personally I don't have a problem kindred fame as long as their willing to do it properly. IE you have a body double that is a ghoul and you accept your career is limited to a couple decades and then you release the ghoul and/or fake your death so you can fade back into the background, until you can build a new mask and likely get a good Tzimitzsce to give you a new face.
Absolutely. I still find it best to attempt to live out of the limelight. The thin-bloods might be good to help with things with the profane herogamos formula though.
Sexy Vampires are not really my cup of tea, but I'm not against it either. I actually have written my own version of beautiful Vampires like the Toreador if they were just pure evil and terrifying Monsters in the Vampire Novel that I am currently writing. I believe you can make Sexy Vampires scary if you make them look and act dangerous. My problem with the "Sexy Vampire" troupe is that there is so much of it in the mainstream already. And that is because of Anne Rice's success. I have nothing against Anne Rice personally, may she rest in peace. My problem is with Hollywood and other Writers who can't think of anything new with Vampires and just decide to copy her. That's why there is more bad Vampire Fiction out there than there is good. The only part of Victoria Ash's story that I find very interesting and dramatic was her encounter with Sacha Vykos has left her traumatized by giving her a scar that will never heal If I am correct. She's not one of the characters that I find interesting like Beckett, Smiling Jack, or Vykos, but I always find her skills and political maneuvering to be enjoyable. I just wish there was more vampire fiction where vampires are Horror monsters and not a kinky sex fetish in general. There is a rule that I go by when writing Vampire fiction and that is make Vampires evil and make them dangerous. Sexy Vampires can be both of those things if the writer gives them an otherworldly beauty where they are so beautiful that it's impossible for a Human to look like. Something like that can be unnerving. Angelic in appearance, but Demonic in behavior. I remember learning about the history of the serial killer Ted Bundy, and by 1970s standards he was considered by many women to be attractive and charming not knowing that he was a real-life Monster underneath those good looks and charm. So that became a template for me and for many writers as well, but I also add that Vampires should stick out like a soar thumb whether they be ugly or pretty. Give them an otherworldly skin color that illuminates their beauty but also still physically possess the underlying dark predatory nature that shows that this is not a Human, but an unnatural predator with claws, long sharp teeth, and otherworldly eyes. That way it gives the reader that Succubus nature where they are alluring and seductive, but you know you will die a horrifying death if you sleep with one. Don't make them look like Calvin Kline Fitness Supermodels with barely noticeable fangs. There is just too much of that already even World of Darkness is guilty of this, but that's just my opinion. I know alt of Vampire fans prefer the sex appeal which I am not against if done right.
I find the concept of Sexuality in Kindred society to be a weapon, not a desire. I've actually gotten into a couple of arguments over this in the past. Sex is just a way they hunt. Humans tend to become aroused when they are in a pray situation. They love to be hunted because they mistake it for sexuality. In the WoD the bite of the vampire induces pleasure so it becomes a tool. Emotional bonds between two (or more) vampires can for and they may see it as "Love" but the companionship and the blood sharing would be the prime aspect of the relationship.
@@VoivodeMekhet If you are bitten by a snake or a wolf do you feel pleasure? no, you feel pain. The whole WOD Kiss thing is that is just one of the bad choices the writers made that make me want to pull my hair out. It comes out like a badly written porno than something that is meant to be unnerving or scary, but that's just me. And it makes ask if a Vampires's bite is pleasurable across the board with the exception of the Giovanni. What about the Nosferatu's bite, or the Nagaraja before the V5 changes? Are their bites supposed to be pleasurable? I've said it before there are things about World of Darkness that I love and things that I hate. It's got flaws and things that don't make sense from a storyteller's perspective. This idea of using sexuality and appeal as a means to hunt prey is common in Vampire fiction, and I'm not entirely against it. But WOD has embraced the Romantic side of Vampires more than they have with the dark and disturbing. That it has become a shadow of what it used to be. And that is because people, in general, prefer their vampires as a fantasy rather than nightmare. I am in the minority where I believe Vampires in fiction should be creatures of horror, because of the many thousands of years of folklore and mythologies from all over the world that encompass that horror.
@@user-lc4xh7ts7h You can't functionally have a Masquerade if the Kiss doesn't cover it up and limits hunting so much that it always has to be in private. Also your plain wrong as most insects and such that drink blood do at least make the victim numb with their bite, meanwhile a whole human latched onto you is hard to ignore so obviously the kiss blissing out makes the most sense for survival.

Just as an aside there is a new Tegyrius VTES card coming out soon. It was previewed about a month ago.
I feel like we need to know more about Tegyrius. I have a distinct feeling that the Inner Circle picked Victoria specifically to whip this guy, but the Banu Haquim might have done the exact same.

I don't think Miss Toreador icon cares much for the Tremere.
I think your take on Celebrity Affectation is maybe a little harsh. it does say that whether you masquerade as any kind of celebrity is up to you, and 'affectation' is a key word. I took it to mean you were acting in the 'poseur' sort of way. Taking on the vibe of being famous, without actually being so. People *don't* know who they are, but you try to give off the vibe of being a 'big deal', and people want to know who you.
I can see that but as you pointed out it says that "it is up to you". In the situation of a vampire actually attempting become famous, much like Miss Ash in the 80s, most princes I would run would be a severe thorn in the characters side. I couldn't care less if they are trying to live in a bus or having a bunch of personal groupies but once they start booking concerts at the Metro dome and trying to pull a Lastat, we're gonna have Masquerade concerns. I love the concept of hiding in plain site such as out dear undisputed Baron of the Valley, Mr. Temple but my Cam princes are going to cause some shit in the proccess.
@@VoivodeMekhet I can see that. I think kindred fame is kind of a bizarre concept as well. It seems odd to me that a predator type like Cleaver comes with a flaw for risking the Masquerade, but something like Osiris doesn't.
Also, from the reading, you could play it as a pure cover for your transport system. It says "The Great and Powerful Mr. AMAZING! Magician and Illusionist!" on the outside, but no one you know has seen Mr. Amazing's act. If you get passed by the truck on the highway, you might think a lot of things idly, but, "Hey! That's a vampire's caravan!" isn't one of them.
I can see all that as very good points. However, as someone who has ST's for as long as I have I do run into the rare player that decides that concerts and talk shows are the way to go and I believe they need a tan.
I’m confused does she have an 8 in humanity, I thought kindred can’t enjoy sex otherwise. I know things like Auspex can help a little, but how does she do it.

She fakes it. From the time Victoria was human she used sex as a tool and a weapon. I really don't see her enjoying it other than just the control she gets from it.
