Yes Chi! This video has just given me the motivation to swap my check straps. Had a look on TH-cam before to find a video and this is the best video I have come across yet! I was stumped after seeing my speakers pop riveted in but but the looks of it I can squeeze my skinny arm up to reach the strap without removing the speaker. Will subscribe, hopefully see more tips and tricks for my lupo gti in the future.
Finally got around to doing it and got scuppered trying to get those two bolts out. My tools don't give me space to turn the bolts so I've gotta get something else :(
not sure if that's wd-40 or not, but your best bet with metal on metal is either white lithium grease or white calcium grease. As a PSA to anyone reading this, WD-40 isn't really a lubricant, it's a penetrant and moisture displacer, it's lubrication will wear away very quickly as it's mainly there for the penetrating/loosening ability.
Hello Chi . I have watched your lovely video but the problem I have on my car is where the check strap fastens to the car (not door) this is moving ? Any ideas on how to fix this as I can find no videos on TH-cam ! Stuart .
Excellent you are, so clear and concise. I am lupo fan, 1.4Tdi for me please, best car I ve ever had, but need to fix that dam door noise, so thank you very much. But where do i buy the part? Please.
It’s actually taken me 1 year to get around to doing it, but yesterday I finally replaced my door strap! No more horrible sound every time I open the door! Thank you for the guide!
I have the same problem at my Lupo, did the door also stuck a little bit at these holding points in your case? Sorry im not english and don't know how to describe it better. Best regards

Saved, gotta do this soon. Was hoping it was just the bolts but you've given me the steps to follow!

Glad the video helped 🙂
Do these parts keep the door open as well? My door doesn't make that noise but feels loose (you open it and it just closes again - very annoying)
Yes, it has 3 door settings that keep the door open, if that makes sense.
thanx a lot Chi!!! Got the same problem and i was hoping in a video like this !!! ciao from germany!

Jai Rai hello, thanks for your comment, my front seats are from a MK4 VW Golf R32, and the rears are the original Lupo seats retrimmed.
My lupo do it too. So i must change it? Can i repare it?
