@@joshthehawk746 I've finished the main story and done a few hard bosses so far... all I have is a full defense bunny, with all resist mods, and a Tamer... which occasionally gets swapped out for Albion Cavalry gun (for SP boost on Reactor - only used for add clear agains Colosi). Just having a large HP pool is enough to survive most encounters in game... In fact, dare I say, that your biggest defensive stat, is HP. Which means you can save one external component of every element, add a mod, and you should be good to go for an elemental boss, having an easier time.
Thanks for the Intro about difficulty increase. That explains all the people complaining, that they managed a boss in private and failed with others, if the new person is that bad, that it cannot compensate the 20% increase.
His comment on 20% difficulty meant simply enemy damage output, right? Didn't he mention he wasn't sure how the health values changed? Enemy health could go up even more. However, it's important to also note that it's not really "compensating" for a person being bad in covering that 20%. That could be the case in regards to their health pool (which is why I think their health may increase more than 20% each person, because you'd need to be REALLY bad to not be able to contribute well over that 20% back). HOWEVER, that 20% damage output is not distributed or compensated for--each individual is taking the full brunt of each increased hit. So, with 4 people, every person has to be able to deal with significantly more damage, regardless if any of them are bad or not.

I tried private mode for the first time today for Hard Executioner because people in public kept getting one shot by that sword and the lightning strikes. I couldn’t believe how easy this fight was in private. I’m convinced People are extremely lazy and don’t prep themselves for an intercept fight. They just want to be carried all the damn time
The boss hp and dmg scales up with more people. Really difficult to even carry anyone since the way the scaling works one person won't be enough to make up for someones lack of dmg on public for hard mode. You either go solo or get people that can pull their own weight to make it work. But do agree that are alot of people that looking for carry instead of grinding out their modules for more dps and survivability
@@raathh it doesn't matter if they are on Bunny. What matter is that I see Dead Bride Hard Shield/HP dropping only when I shoot. I'm used to Pugs not doing damage but dear lord this is not Monster Hunter where you actually can carry three other idiots.

This rant turned longer than expecting, so I put this up here instead of last. Great video and keep up the good work. The information you've been putting out has really helped me solidify my builds. This is a genuine question, why does this phrase exist? The adendem for the whole "do what you want to do" I always find strange. People who play the meta because the meta is fun don't care about that saying (or do, but what they want is the meta). People who will follow that saying would have done so anyway. The only people I find that phrase helps is validating people who want to load into public matchmaking "playing who they want to play" and proceed to fail the activity for other people. Play what you want to play as long as you play by your self. Play what you find most fun but isn't trash when playing with other people. Doesn't have to be "the meta", but I don't want someone who doesn't build for defense because they want bigger number cause haha. In Destiny, there are hunters who don't want to run stillhunt (best dps in the game) but once they are dealing 1/5 the damage they could and are also dying the most, they still refuse to swap. This is an example of them being a detriment but not fixing that issue because "I don't find it fun". I don't find it fun wiping because we keep 3 phasing and you keep dying. If they atleast switched to still hunt they could bump their number and still be bad at surviving.
I've been stuck on the Obstructor Hard mode and regardless of having 7k res or 15k res I still took the same damage. This makes more sense to me and appreciate the video and knowledge to not waste modules space on more elemental Res.
I think the immunity mods are an incredibly cheap way to survive a lot of bosses elemental attacks. The dot damage you take may not seem like a lot but it adds up over the course of a boss fight. You don't even need to upgrade them, just the immunity to status effects gives you a lot of survivability. If you've built into HP and DEF I'd recommend using those mods. Or have a spare resist component of each element and pair them with the mods which is what I do.
Really great video! I love math. I would love to see a test on how maximize skill damage and how MP regeneration works. I will always have questions on this game. Peace and thank you.
Regarding your equation and commentary about 4:30: It appears Defense is immensely more valuable up until diminishing returns, since it's generally easier to get bigger numbers and percentage boosts for Defense. Also, what is the -Attack at the end or your equation, and could you give some example values (maybe not exact boss numbers if you don't have them, but ballpark guesses that make sense)? What are average values on equipment for defense and resistance? If they're equal, I couldn't see the need for any resistance (until diminishing returns, if you still need more survivability after that reduction). But, I guess if an equally "max possible rolled" item can roll with twice the resistance as it can defense, than resistance would be more efficient on equipment.
Okay second video, Ive watched from you, I'm enjoying it, and it has me curious to how you "do the math" because I hope to get good enough to solo bosses and help the community.
In other words , if one does not stack a bunch of resistance but instead have a larger shield+HP values it kinda makes up for it🧐 I am beginning to think that a good mix of all values its probably the best approach for a build 🤔 Many thanks for another great detailed and insightful video 👌 Its a joy to watch your content and explanations! 👊
I want to add two things to this. One that module that adds 600+ resistance to all elements is horrible. Do not use it unless they buff it. (I pray they do.) Secondly higher elemental resistance does affect how quickly an elements ability will proc on you. (Poison tic, fire tic, being frozen, and electrocuted.)

This is surprising. What would the cut off point for health vs resist be? Meaning, with having 12k HP and 5k resist, what amount of HP would be necessary with 0 resist to equal out? Great info, by the way! I've been watching since you started on TFD.
Just to make sure, are you taking into account the amount of DOT that occurs after the initial hit? Cause I remember another one of your videos where you explained the elemental resist as a flat subtractive stat from the damage taken. This flat subtractive amount would actually be extremely important when taking into account the DOT after the hit. This is only our of curiosity, love the content and wouldn't be asking questions about this if you hadn't explained the elemental resist earlier.
Any reason why you didn't just write ATK - DEF - RES at around 4:30? Since if i understood well, they've basically the same effect? Which is wayyy under what i thought it'd be. Thanks for doing the tests for us. I always like to know that stuff, but i like a bit less doing all the testing ahah, until i've to.
I run about 30k defence and 3-4k resist and i rarely get downed. I play Freyna so i can pop my defensive if things do get hairy which usually allows me to go heal up. Regardless, thanks for the info will adjust my build off of this for future proofing..
Not sure any will see this being a bit older vid now... Ever since launch, because of every APRG doing it, I've always paid attention to elemental resists and have always had as high of a resist on each component as I can. Normally (with the blue HP and Defense mods maxed) I've not really had any issue staying alive on colossus fights unless I get hit by an unfamiliar mechanic. But recently every 'best X video' I've watched for descendants they NEVER have resists on components or their descendant. Now that it's 3 weeks later, would you still recommend that base component resist? Or should I look for building into new sets without it and just put it into a free descendant slot as needed? I always assumed random non-colossus fights wound need elemental resists as well because I randomly will get frozen or stunned out in regular fights.
Can you do a video regarding skill damage and what's best to run? What does the most damage? Skill power? Elemental skill power matching your descendant? Skill power modifier? Should you focus on one? Spread it between all types? If I want to focus on boosting the damage of a specific skill, such as bunny's lightning emission which is an electric singular skill, then should I focus on boosting the electric skill power or focus on boosting the singular skill power or both evenly? Or do I just increase regular skill power and skill power modifier? I'm having a hard time figuring out what the best combination of mods is for skill damage.
While i was farming components I made it my goal to get the main stat I wanted with at least the gold resistance stat that corresponded with the piece, so I have 3.6k resistance to all elements with 26k defense and 9.5k hp on a full skill damage viessa with crit build, yes a couple catalysts were used and I seem to tank quite well against all elements and void intercept on hard while having respectable skill damage
Thank you, this is a Great help. :) to me it feels enough to get a purple or yellow resistance roll om component. I am still curious if boss resistances work the same way.
Based on your videos about defense and resistance, can u make a graph that shows combinations of the most optimize defense and resistance,? in my mind there will be a defense curve and resistance curve in one graph (example: if i have 40k def, then i will need 4k resist to achieve 60% damage resist), that'll help us more, thx btw for the vids
@ryechews games PLEASE do a video on how mcuh more dmg we do if we have the right element (weapon mod ) to a boss. cause tehre is weak and VERY WEAK, NORMAL, strong n very strong
Im curious if element attack stacks on weapons as bonus to pure firearm attack... for example electric ATK on gun weapon roll plus the electric gunbarrel + toxic enhancement mod + toxic barrel. Think its very important to know.
I think just farming External components with every res in the purple or gold category you should have 3k to 3.8k for each res and that should be plenty
Even though i actually have the maths knowledge of a 6th grader, these videos are explained clearly enough for a dummy like me to understand❤ glad you growing
I would like to hear some talks about mods, like how much does the mod that gives +62% atk and -fire rate suck when used on certain weapons? When is it worth? Thinks like that, maybe some builds on things without the equivalent of formas, like what are you running on your non formad / potatoed Tamer?
Probably the content creator with the biggest impact on early meta hands down

I play Freyna so i can pop my defensive if things do get hairy which usually allows me to go heal up.
Regardless, thanks for the info will adjust my build off of this for future proofing..
I wanna see the perforator go nuts. But I’m having not luck with it just yet
im working on wave of light, that last piece is hard to get 😅
Not sure any will see this being a bit older vid now...
You're doing the lord's work
While i was farming components I made it my goal to get the main stat I wanted with at least the gold resistance stat that corresponded with the piece, so I have 3.6k resistance to all elements with 26k defense and 9.5k hp on a full skill damage viessa with crit build, yes a couple catalysts were used and I seem to tank quite well against all elements and void intercept on hard while having respectable skill damage
You are a wizard, level 5!
Counterpoint, Kyle.
@ryechews games
PLEASE do a video on how mcuh more dmg we do if we have the right element (weapon mod ) to a boss.
cause tehre is weak and VERY WEAK, NORMAL, strong n very strong
Im curious if element attack stacks on weapons as bonus to pure firearm attack... for example electric ATK on gun weapon roll plus the electric gunbarrel + toxic enhancement mod + toxic barrel. Think its very important to know.
I think just farming External components with every res in the purple or gold category you should have 3k to 3.8k for each res and that should be plenty
Even though i actually have the maths knowledge of a 6th grader, these videos are explained clearly enough for a dummy like me to understand❤ glad you growing
I have dyscalculia so me and numbers just simply don't compute lol.
Having the visual aid makes things so much easier to understand.
hi, very good content, mate! can you please tell about Autoimmunity and Safe Recovery, how works incoming dmg -%
take my sub ive been looking for a creator who plays and tests with numbers and proof.
I would like to hear some talks about mods, like how much does the mod that gives +62% atk and -fire rate suck when used on certain weapons? When is it worth? Thinks like that, maybe some builds on things without the equivalent of formas, like what are you running on your non formad / potatoed Tamer?
