    a black mesh could be a good addition to the look and dust prevention

    • @alaskandonut
      @alaskandonut ปีที่แล้ว +5

      This actually wouldn't be difficult. You can purchase a plate of rigid mesh material, drill holes, use threaded inserts into the edge face of the wood and secure with machine screws. Additionally, round magnets could be used as well with a fine metallic mesh.

    What an awesome build! I love the custom work with the PSU. it's usually one of the things causing the biggest headache in a clean build and even if I have swapped out fans and such, I have never had the guts to shorten the cables. :)

    Pro tip when doing a groove with your router use the rounded part to run against your fence since it's the same distance away from the middle of the router.
    The reason for this is if you use flat part one wrong movement would get you a crooked groove but if you use the rounded part you have some wiggle room before the groove goes crooked.
    Other than that nice project! Good job!

    This looks incredible. The CPU temps were surprisingly high considering its practically open air, still not alarming though. I love how the 6600 xt fits so perfect on the back half of the pc.

    • @mxcbuilds6633
      @mxcbuilds6633  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you! I agree with the temps, that's why I was abit disappointed. I'm positive it's due to the orientation of the heatsink fins. The air flow through them is now restricted by the ram sticks and the IO shield on the other side. And I assume what little air is able to pass through that is immediately sucked back into the fan...

    • @bezbos
      @bezbos ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, those CPU temps are a bit high. I'm not sure if it's going to be any better after a few months of dust build-up 🤔?

    I decided a long time ago that pc cases were a stupid idea because you need so many fans to get the heat out there is hardly any case left so this seems a good compromise and looks vastly better for my tastes. I took things to the next logical step and just mounted all my components to a board with a slide out under my desk, great cooling, low noise, free and invisible.

    Great build including the modification of the PSU! Much better aesthetically but didn't pan out all that well in terms of cooling improvements. Still an entertaining and pleasing build to watch. :)

    Your build is absolutely beautiful, the black and silver pc components really complement the wooden case.
    I have the same GPU and I had to modify the fan curve as it was set pretty aggressively out of the box. My GPU now reaches 80 °C but is much quieter. Might be worth it for you to do that as well as I was remembered of the stock fan curve noise when you showed the full load noise test.
