Hopefully this video will help you all get started on the wonderful path of sticky jumping! I'm actually starting to get addicted to it now that I know how it works. I sticky jump every time I'm done rocket jumping just 'cause it's so much fun. Also, there should totally be another Soldier v. Demoman update where demo gets the gunboats too. Just imagine.

You didn't mention that you can actually sticky jump effectively without actually jumping. Detonating just as you crouch in front of your sticky will give you only a little heigth so it comes in handy when jumping inside buildings and sliding off nearby ramps. It's a technique which enables you to pull off the Kaidus rollout on Process.

Although, if Nate is really "not good" at sticky jumping then i'm straight awful. I can only do simple jumps like what he calls "Speed pogo" in this video and just regular sticky jumps. But then again, i only play casual, don't really play a lot of jump maps.
they do add gunboats for demo in beta (i think) but they removed it
The “WAR!” Update had a competition between Demo and Soldier and soldier won. So, he got the gunboats. If Demo won he would have gotten the gunboats.

I don't want to sound snotty or anything, but the correct way to sticky jump is to jump and THEN crouch. It gives you much more height, once I learned that it blew my mind :D (and it does make a big difference)
Ethan Lin I've heard a few jumpers say crouching a split second before jumping works good too, but I don't even know. I just jump and crouch at the same time anyways, lol.

You can set your movement to other keys. You should really set Captial lock or F as your crouch

for those of you wishing to practice with anything other than the jumper, press '~' and insert these commands into the console
mp_timelimit 9999999 {this tells TF2 to add that much time to the map total}
bind mouse1 "+attack; impulse 101" {this makes it so that when you click the LMB, it not only shoots a sticky/rocket, but also refills your ammo and health, allowing for infinite ammo}
to undo the bind command, just type bind mouse1 "+attack"

I really like your tutorials, they're nicely done; good montage, nice voice and all of necessary content... Since you've done Rocket and Sticky Jumping tutorials, how other jumping techniques ? Like Engineer's Wrangler Jumps on Lv. 3 Sentry and Mini-Sentry and Pyro's Flare Jumps or even even Medic's Quickfix Semi-Jumps ? You could make one video for them all, 'cuz they're using the same basics as Rocket Jumping... Also congrats for almost 20 000 Subscribers

It is possible, but I think it is can be much more difficult than sticky and rocket jumping (depending on the type of jump)

It's funny, a lot of ppl talk about how much harder this is. While I haven't performed advanced maneuvers, I find sticky jumping so much easier than rocket jumping when it comes to mobility. I can rocket jump vertically no problem, but to get speed is very hard for me. With sticky jumping, however, it's a simple matter of shooting a tad later. Thanks for the instructions!

it's possible to sticky jump with 3 and 4 stickys too
you just need booties(or legger if your broke) or overheal for 4

For most jumps i just use 2 stickies, if i need more, i mix in loose cannon jumping.
I found out on attack on mercanery park put two sticks down and you can get all the way to the invisible wall
how to airpogo like a god
1. join tempus advanced server
2. set map to jump_mireal3_final or jump_carrot_a5
3. /tp in chat
4. /speedo in chat
5. horizontal airpogo speed is 860-880 hu/s
6. maintain stable speed
7. airpogo recoveries are god’s gift to this game
8. grind for 350 hours nonstop for best results
9. number 10 is the most important rule
10. tap s when going over 880-940 hu/s, 1000 hu/s isn’t doable for airpogo unless it’s downwards and you know exactly how long to charge your stickies

cl_showpos 1 in console, horizontal airpogo speed with showpos is 910-950
i was a bit stuck on you kind of strafing, because i'm used to holding down crouch, w, a and moving my mouse. So i was confused with your strafinf, and i personally think that mine works better, but Amazing video.
