Praise God someone who is honest, I thought I was the only one that thought I don't want to be sitting here for so long rocking you, I have stuff to do. Don't get me wrong I love my child and I do enjoy spending time with him but I don't always enjoy sitting for two hours or more breastfeeding and trying to get a cranky baby to sleep. Sorry if that makes me a horrible mother, but I'm just being honest. I love my child even if I get tired and frustrated.

After having my baby I felt so overwhelmed. I had my husbands cousin come over for a visit and she asked me how I was doing, and I nearly cried on the spot. It meant so much that she asked me that. No one else had even thought to ask me that. Always check in on your mamma friends 💕

I love that you carry and rock your baby to sleep as opposed to just letting him cry to sleep. You are an incredible mom! People always criticized me for rocking my daughter to sleep and letting her sleep on my chest for the first 7 months of her life. She had terrible reflux and was a helpless infant. I hate when people tell me to let babies cry and make us feel like a terrible mother for holding her all the time. I'm pregnant with my second and I'm terrified that they'll also be horrible sleeper...but If they are...I know I'll hold them tol even though its harrrdd

You’re one of my favorite TH-cam mamas to see a notification from! You show that hey life is not perfect babies are not perfect but we can make it through it all. I also love that I can relate to you I have a 2 year old boy and I am due in May with a baby girl ! It’s super helpful to be able to watch mamas that have kids similar in age to myself

I love how real and honest you are about everything! I love the point about getting stuff done while your baby or toddler is awake. Even if it’s just so you get the chance to relax/sleep while they take a nap and you’re not worrying about the million things that need to get done.

At 9:00, I felt like you started talking about people like me. And I even closed my eyes like “oh nooo”
And then you said your husband is a Virgo. Well snap, so am I. I’m already stressed about having to readjust. I WISH could go with the flow. LOL
I’m 6 months. Your videos are so helpful! I don’t like asking anyone I know for info because it turns out into them telling me what to do rather than suggesting and I may not like their lifestyle to begin with. So it’s nice to just take note 📝 with out being told what to do.

I have a 5 year old boy and am due with our second in May and looking at my son,I can tell you guys that it definitely gets better! Theres a light at the end of the tunnel! I remember being so lonely, depressed and miserable first couple of months postpartum. None of our friends had kids yet, so there was noone to relate to or anyone who understood. The newborn stage was just a stressful blur. I think that's part of the reason we waited so long to have our second. But looking back, I know it gets easier and better. What has helped me is going back to work to doing what I love and having that social aspect back. Also, now, pretty much all of our friends have kids and theres a community of moms who can relate. For those of you with a baby in your hands, just hang in there, it gets better! You will get yourself and your life back. It will never be the same as pre-baby, but you will not imagine it being otherwise. 💗🙌

FTM with a 2 month old. Thank you SO MUCH for keeping it real and being brave enough to talk some truth. My LO cannot stand for me to put him down. I might get 30 minutes in a bouncer, or 1 minute. I might get 45 minutes in a carrier, or 5 minutes. I have so many questions about what is “normal” and what I should be doing/trying. Thank you so much for these tips and for your 24 hr DITL video. His naps range from 5 minutes to 3 hours; is that normal? We definitely DO NOT have a daytime schedule/routine and sometimes he will not allow me to change out of my PJs until 2 pm or later (if at all); is that normal? And I typically wait for him to get sleepy before I put him down for the night; it never occurred to me that I could (should?) rock him to sleep at a set bed time. And getting outside is absolutely fantastic for my mental health; I cannot recommend it enough.

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and have spent just about my entire life around kids -- helping my parents as the oldest kid in my family, babysitting as a teen and in early 20's, helping family take care of nieces and nephews as well as friends kids, etc. But it's always different when they're your own. Thanks for posting this and giving all us new mom some tips!

This is a great video with some fresh perspective! I never thought of the bathtub lol. I think another good piece of advice I was given that was so hard but has helped us that it is ok to take a minute. When I start to feel overwhelmed, it is ok to step into my room, take a deep breath and then step back out. I’m not advocating negligence at all, but two minutes while they are contained and safe is better for them than me getting overwhelmed. Also, if you feel overwhelmed or not like yourself, talk to someone, whether it is a family member or your doctor or someone on here-you don’t have to walk it alone. ❤️ this vid!

Honestly the first tip is great for second time moms too! My first baby was so good at napping and sleeping and then my second baby happened and she would not take a single nap as a newborn!!!!!!! She could stay up straight until 5 PM and I was SHOOK. My expectations on everything were crushed and I wish I would’ve been more prepared to do stuff while everyone was awake!

  • @stephh.8706

Tip for getting baby to sleep longer at night.. is to keep it bright and loud during the day.. and keep baby awake as long as possible leasing up to bed time . swaddle.. white noise.. routine. and the biggest one even my Dr told me was to not really let baby get used to being held while sleeping during the day or he won't at night. My baby would never nap unless I was holding him. I just kept putting him in his crib until he got used it and now sometimes he will even fall asleep on his own in there and esp at night.. no matter how tired you do not co sleep. Plus it's just not safe anyway. I have 4 boys in total.. my last two I co-slept because it was easier and they slept longer but my second child wanted to sleep with me until he was 5 and my now 2.5 year old still wants to sleep with me and doesn't sleep threw the night. Those were my biggest mistakes. My 4th son is now 7 weeks old has been only waking up once in the middle of the night for 2 weeks straight! Every baby and situation is different but sleep training is very important and if you want to ever sleep again you won't give up and keep trying.! Also don't stress too much if you can't get things done. I'd cry cuz my baby would breasr feed for hours or he wont sleep but really babies grow so fast things will get easier.

My oldest daughter turned 2 in November and I just had my second daughter in January so I relate to you so much. I’ve lost it a few times recently. My new baby is a terrible sleeper, even worse than my first was which I didn’t know was possible. My 2 year old is the size of a 4 year old so confining is nearly impossible. I’ll have to try the bathtub trick I’ll keep you updated if she turns the water on or not 😂

Thank you soo much I needed to hear the tip on finding ways to do things with the baby. My baby is 9 months old and crawling and I’ve always been waiting for baby to nap to do things but it doesn’t usually work

My little one is a week old and I already feel like I've lost my sense of identity. No sleep, no time for myself, suddenly only thing in my life is baby. It's like I suddenly have tunnel vision. I am a very independent career oriented woman, and to me the adaptation is REALLY hard!

I'm a first time mom with a 4 month old who is also a terrible sleeper. I've felt so guilty for hating bedtime because sometimes I'm rocking, swaying, bouncing for 2 to 3 hours to get her to go to sleep. I get so frustrated. I'm gonna try the earbud trick! I would have never thought about that 🥰

Omg thank you for this! You made me laugh and definitely what I needed to hear and learn. My baby doesn't really like her moby wrap. Any suggestions on others?
