This is just great. Our forefathers gave up their lives so that future us could completely submit ourselves to hyper Consumerism. What a superb outcome.
Things aren't just black white. If it were then one could say you having kids was ego driven, thinking you genes are so important than they really are. Or you were greedy, you weren't satisfied with what your forefathers gave you, you wanted more so you decided to bring a innocent life to feel more fulfilment in your life. Or your ancestors didn't wanted to have kids probably because it wasn't possible, women didn't really have a choice. Maybe they expected their future generation to make that decesion when the time was right but we here are still having kids in this greedy, ultra capitalism world, where one has to even pay to drink clean water or stick to a job for decades so that they end up homeless. A world where wars still exists, diseases, mental dissablity, physical disability, mental illness, murder, rape, human trafficking, pollution. Suffering in different names basically. Do you still want to have kids? If you were possible to discuss with your ancestors, would they still encourage you to have bring future generation into this broken world?

Maybe this is why modern people aren't happy even after having so much comfort in life. We live a life, comparing things and people. Our concept of happiness has been skewed. This is the main reason people don't want to have kids. Not due to some extraordinary reason but to keep their comfort levels intact. Which is fine with me, who am I to control their lives. 🤐

You absolutely failed in life if you think that you don’t want kids because you can’t afford them.
Although, I agree that shouldn't be the reason, but definitely a concerned factor before family planning which majority of Indians fail to do.
