- I was going to do a video, "What happens if you go to the back of the Aurora?" and then this Reaper comes up and says, "this happens lol" then proceeds to destroy my Cyclops. :(

I'm used to it now. It's like a jump scare but a leviathan DESTROYING What you built. When I first saw that I jumped out my skin and almost had a heart attack.
@@henreebee6561 When gregbrodudeman ("man with a fear of the ocean plays Subnautica" was out with his cyclops in the mountains for the first time... at night... a reaper came at him like that, full speed, next to no warning, in the pitch black. Absolutely terrifying.
He is the kind of person who would collect acid mushrooms with a prawn suit but ride his cyclops to a reapers mouth with half hp.

Anyone else just kind of love the ambience of a Cyclops in danger? I kind of love the various alarms, the verbal warnings, the sound of a crewman frantically trying to fix everything, and then finally the abandon ship alarm. With a loud splash the person evacuates the submarine and runs for safety, chased by the sound of a submarine imploding (and whatever destroyed it).
Yeah some one should make a 10 hour version its weirdly satisfying

Reaper literally gave you a chance and you made it out, then you go right back in
what do you expect he clearly did it for the video
He needed a creature decoy, to understand what noise + that radar to his right means, use SLOW speed, and use silent running. He would've slipped through with ease had he done all of this. Creature decoy and the shield generator are a must if you're going to be this ballsy. With how much most people load their Cyclopses with, they generally chose to do the safer approach mentioned above.
I just hope he saved beforehand

Yeah that was cool as f. Developers really did an amazing job, reaper really rips appart everything.
If you go without a vehicle and you're above the waterline, the reaper can jump out of the water and kill you mid-air.
When I first started the game, I went near the aurora and a reaper leviathan literally jumped out of the water to get me, it didn’t, buts I had no fucking idea it was that powerful
The Cyclops saying "Abandon ship!" Is literally him saying "Save Yourself! "
The amount of fear he’s facing when he exits the Cyclops in the PRAWN knowing he could be snatched is just excessive. The fact that he tries to save the Cyclops moments before it’s destroyed only builds the tension, along with his PRAWN being grabbed twice while he stumbles to escape the crash zone, perfectly defines the terror in this game
It's crazily tense on the whole - but did he skip parts? It shows one attack at 4:30 and suddenly his vessel looks like it's been through WW3 lol

What i've learned from PewDiePie's LP is that if you activate Silent Mode, the Reaper can't hear you BUT you must be careful not to bump into anything cause then it will hear you.

This is why you need the fire suppression system
this is why the fire extinguisher upgrade module is so good. if you are quick enough, you can get out of the cyclops in time and fix the hull outside.

If You want to go safe past a leviatan You have to go in slow mode and sillent running to not make noise .👍

Yes but in some biomes after they Chase the decoy the leviatan is comeing back and is ataking You If You are not in sillent running ,because the biom is big (acid biom) for exemple .

i didn't know a reaper could be THAT big of a threat to your cyclops.
It's why when I got my Cyclops I figured out exactly where reapers spawned, and played it very carefully. Your cyclops being destroyed is a massive loss and set back
This is why ill never go into reaper territory with my cyclops (the main reason im scared of my cyclops getting destroyed is because ill lose all my cyclops upgrades well i acttualy could just grab them before its gets destroyed and its not that hard for me to build another cyclops it just takes a long time because i have to get stalker teeth)
@@inadaly5976 Actually, you can grab the upgrades AFTER it gets destroyed as well, the wreck remains on the map and any items you put inside should survive the explosion (aside from any docked vehicle). Good luck salvaging it when surrounded by reapers, though.

7:45 reaper: where do you think your going?
I have no idea why, but as soon as you get the Cyclops, the game becomes 100x scarier.
1) You now have something big to lose 2) You have a giant target on your back, the cyclops is slow and exposed, at least on foot you might have an easier time hiding. 3) The quietness of the cyclops when inside is kind of scary. You aren't one with the ocean anymore, you're dry inside and all you hear is the creak of titanium, and the sounds of the ship.
I was actually scared by the reaper attacking the Prawn suit outside of water.

A ghost leviathan almost destroyed my sub when i was trying to get kyanite in the active lava zone, if i didn’t have the fire suppression system, i don’t think i would have been bringing my sub back home with me
Ghost's don't spawn in the active lava zone unless you mean the sea dragon

You also have silent mode and emergency speed. The leviathan will only attack you if you are in the sub. And it always circles around after it’s finished with its attack so you have time to repair it on the outside. if you’re a cyclops gets destroyed you can quit the game to the main menu and rejoin, and it will retrace back to your last save. And if you manage to make it happen there is a secret ejection seat, it’s actually just a glitch at the main door that is a circle. someone recorded a video of them, getting ejected miles away from the submarine when they touched their circular door.

Could’ve used rig for silent running on your cyclops. If you saved before venturing out into the dunes after your cyclops got damaged you could’ve quit the game and left off where your cyclops wasn’t damaged.

This was awesome to watch. RIP Cyclops.
Next reaper you see hit him with a full blast of the stasis rifle. I timed it at 29 seconds of pure stabbing time before you have to hit him again. You can very easily keep them in stasis until you stab them to death and they do not re spawn outside of the ecological dead zones. (they can have those) The first one is scary but after that it's just about the rhythm of stasis and stab. Stab on explorers.
