Just ran my personal long run (6.2 miles) of my life yesterday in these shoes. I am choosing them more frequently over my Nimbus 25s. I'm a new runner, started in late February after I turned 40
I'm in the same boat with replacing my speed 3 I've found I've used them less and less so I've gone the other way and gone takumi sen 9 for faster runs and then my superblast for longer runs and using my elite v2 for everything in-between. But may consider the speed 4 when released as I have grown to like the shoe.
I didn’t seriously consider them but I bought them I immediately after putting it on my feet in store. It was a Harry Potter finds his wand moment. I prefer this now over the Mach 5 and Speed 3 for uptempo and daily runs. The plate and stability makes my feet and ankles feel good, and the upper fits my wide, higher volume foot. I want another pair to cover the next year as well.
In this day and age of absolute insanity that infested all the companies in all the areas with a fever for chasing never before seen profits due to sheer price increase of 30%, 40%, 50%, 100% for really not a good reason (the supply chains finally stabilized), it's really refreshing to see the offers of quality products like this one for a reasonable price. I hope the insanity will ebb soon and the prices will drop to some more reasonable levels after the stocks will get full of unsold products, which I guess will happen in the next 6 - 8 months if not sooner. On the other hand, relying on human rational behaviour was always a poor bet. Being intoxicated with alcohol or with success, deserved or undeserved, always ends up the same. By crashing into the tree.
I've had mine for about a month now and honestly, I think it's a great shoe. Is it the best shoe ... no, but for the price you can't beat it. I do find it slips a bit on the heel and I agree, the upper is not the best. I use it for a daily trainer and maybe a fartlek run. I wouldn't use it for speed work.
Love the Rebel, but I’m looking for a bit more stack and wouldn’t mind a the plate (speed doesn’t work for me unfortunately). Thinking about picking up a pair of these. Nice to know you like them
Got this shoe the other day Fordy don't know if it's my running style but they feel a bit clunky. Comparing these to the Endorphin Speeds is like chalk and cheese to me they feel super smooth and light weight compared with the Propel 4s. It might be because im a heel striker as i read somewhere these weren't recommended for heel striker's.
I got a few runs in my Propel v4 now and I quite like them. I'm still fairly new again to running after a decade or so hiatus from running, so don't have many modern shoes to compare them to. But so far they're the best shoes on my shoe rack.
I fitted these on in store and they kind of reminded me of my all time favourite, the OG Glideride. Would you say that the ride is similar? I did however feel a bit cramped in the midfoot, might need to size up a half or loosen the laces a bit.
I followed your advice and grabbed a pair on sale here in New Zealand, to replace my Speed 2's in the rotation. Definitely a lot more attractive price-wise than something like the Speed 3, Deviate 2, or Magic Speed 2. I sized up (US14), but that's something I often need to do in NB anyway.
Good insight fordy! My nike tempos broke apart, zoomx has always been a brittle shoe ... you think propel v4 would be a good alternative? Keep those vids coming! 👍
I just got these for a bargain price of £50 🤣 It was a day only sale. And I remembered this vid and just went ahead and bought it. I'm not exactly the fastest of runners. I'm quite heavy at 98Kgs even. But I tried doing some intervals and a bit fast paced fartleks. I could comfortably stride a 15s 100m easily now as compared to my usual 18-20s 100m strides. These I'd say are just about right for me 🤣
Fordy, looking for mild stability shoe that would pair well with the Tempus. Considering Forever Run or maybe something from your favorite company (Brooks).
@@thejonnybeck Don't mind at all! Relatively early in my amassing of shoes so liked the idea of trying a different brand, but the Guide was absolutely on my mind. I reckon the wide would be a nice easy day piece.
@@elliotendures I’ve been looking at the guide myself, as, like fordy, there are days I feel like I would benefit from a (mild) stability shoe. Love the Velocity Nitro as a daily/easy mile trainer, so the Forever Run is a great contender too. How have you found the Tempus? That’s a solid stability shoe out of the gate, isn’t it? 😄
@@thejonnybeck The Tempus just feels good on the feet.Haven't put a ton of work into 'em, but it has that "oh yeah" when it's on. A lot like a Ghost. People can talk poorly of the Ghost and its limitations are super well documented, but no one can convince me they ain't comfortable on your feet. Anyway, I'm also a heavy guy ('bout 210) who has lifted weights going on two decades, so as it turns out, I should probably be spending a lot of my time in shoes like the Foreverrun. I don't. massively overpronate, but I certainly do a little, especially when I am tired. Probs a lot more info than ya bargained for, but there ya have it. The Guide 15 is probably a very smart buy now that it's under $100.
the fit of the deviate nitro 2 is a little more snug than the propel v4 in the forefoot also. both shoe are great but the ride of the propel v4 is more enjoyable to me. but my deviate seem like they will survive 2or more propel v4 in durability.
@@eodys1193 thanks for youre explanation from youre experience. It's my first time looking for a running shoe with a plate for a daily trainer. Not for race but a little more snap at a higher pace in my daily runs.

Bought them last month after watching your review. They deserve every penny!
Glad you like them!
Bought these last week and had my first run in them yesterday. Fantastic shoe and the plate makes a great difference. Thanks for the review mate!
Glad you liked them
@@FordyRuns shaved over 2 minutes off my half marathon wearing these at Edinburgh yesterday. Brilliant shoes!

Yeah me too
I found this and the Endorphin Speed 2 on discount. Both are new shoes. So which one do you recommend?
Do you reckon this shoe would be suitable for running a marathon in?
Why is no one trying the Mizuno Wave Dual Pro? That looks like the ultimate speed shoe for 5k
I’ve not tried it
