I have a 2018 XF and fortunately it comes with a removable cap in the mudguard so we don't have to do any of that. BUT, went to Halfords (UK), and they couldn't get the bulb out having it in their hands. Now you showed that it's the holder that turns and not the bulb. They were trying to turn the bulb... Thank you so much man, I'll try it myself tomorrow.
Thanks Daniel. I watched another video, and was trying to pull the entire headlight out, which basically meant disassemble the front of the car. I thought this is crazy, why they design it like this. Now you show me how its done. Great.
@@danielsaenz3261 it hasn’t worked out yet. I found your video after I had tried to disassemble my car, and then put it back together. Now I have to buy the right globes and try your method. I will try to make a video.
@@gavinrewell9703 oh ok, well it’s a little uncomfortable but you’ll get the job done if you make room, that’s why you need to take the air intake out and other components but it’s doable. I don’t have that car anymore to make another video but it’s not difficult.
I was super stoked when I came across this video, but it doesn't work for a 2013 XF. Once you remove those parts that you're talking about, the back of the headlight is still blocked by an AC hose and radiator hose that can't be removed.
The other side is easier since you don’t have to remove too many things. I don’t have that car no more but I have the supercharger that came with from factory.
Sorry i didn't see this sooner, around 2wks ago i change my headlight ,the electrician had to pull the entire side of the car to pull out the headlight lol.Next time i will know
The top of the airbox is about seven small hex screws. The pipe it's screwed into - you just loosen the clamp. Move the top to one side.. The air box comes out with one 10mm bolt. It just plugs into a fitting so lift it out. The pipe it's connected to is fastened at the top of the bumper right near the hood latch undo the three little screws and the whole thing lifts out. Now here is the BIG trick. Once you unscrew the cap, that retainer he talked about is REALLY hard to get your fingers around. It will NOT move if you try to shift it from one side but it will move pretty easily if you can get your fingers on both sides. Smaller hands are better. there's also a metal pipe pretty much right in the way but you can take out its retaining bolt and CAREFULLY bend the whole thing a little to the side.

The video was exactly what I needed to get the job done 👌

Thank you so much for this i was going to take light out to do this..
My wife’s bulb went out so I’m glad I found this. What about the other side?

@@danielsaenz3261 This worked out. You saved me a few hundred dollars and a couple hours of labor if I would've followed another video.
