At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

I think for Suleiman this was a power play. He enslaved a princess and made her into his cucumbine. She didn’t want him at first and that set a challenge for him. He was just proving that he can get whoever. Sick? Yes but its the truth. He never actually loved her
In the concept of harem there is a power play. As it is shown in harem only non Muslim women are kept. Later they are converted to islaam. Harem is a golden cage for them. Hurrem herself is daughter of a Orthodox Christian priest. In the case of Isabella it is bigger power play. But he has a soft corner in his heart for Isabella. He saved her life twice and always take care of her

Melike İpek Yalova the actress playing her is Turkish so I'm guessing she learned her lines a few day or months before filming and that's the only Spanish she knows.

She isn't speaking Spanish. It's actually Italian. The Turkish producers of this series seemed to have confused the two languages.
I misread this as "Sultan Suleyman's Worst" and...honestly...I wasn't wrong. The "princess in the harem" remains an unnecessary, badly done trope, but particularly here where it's obvious what little research was done and Isabella's "romance" feels more like Stockholm Syndrome. (Not to mention her writing was just...bad? I have to say it.)
I know I keep saying this but they put the whole arc in one video so....
The Isabella arc has the bones of a good plot. Remove the love triangle and instead replace it with political intrigue and use it as a stepping stone for Suleyman to start including Hurrem his political decisions.
The Isabella arc we got would have worked better for Farya in MC:K. It would have been more believable to watch Murad act the way they had Suleyman act during the Isabella fuckery in this video.
This whole part of it feels like they hired on the soap opera "days of our life" writers...it's laughable 😂

1:12:45 I find this shows that Süleyman lusts for Isabella but he does not love her. He lets Mahidevran and Hürrem sleep in the chamber because he loves them. He might not be in love with Mahidevran but in the early episodes he still has a loving sentiment towards her as the mother of his child and for the time they spent together same with Gülfem he respects and loves her too because of the time they shared and because she used to be the mother of one of his children (though she doesn’t sleep in his chamber)
No woman can stay permanently in the sultan's room. Not even his legal wife. Rule is same for all. They have to go when he called them. Princess was new in harem and was not aware of the rule. So she said to suleman that she wanted to stay in his room forever. Suleman understand that and make an excuse for why she had to stay in different room. Later he said she would learn the rules of harem in time
Isabella did not want to sleep in suleman's room. She wanted to stay in his room for ever which is not a tradition for ottomans. Like hurrem or mahidevran Isabella aslo sleep in suleman's chember. In the next scene suleman was seen sleeping beside her.

I hope you are not the smartest person in your village, that TV show is about Süleyman, guess when he was born ? 1495, when did Vlad Tepes die ? in 1477. Why should they show an event which happened 18 years before be was even born.
