Oof, this is the only one of this series I'm actually invested in. I might sometimes wish she had gotten more to work with, but Nur Fettahoğlu embodied this role perfectly.
I thought a young and inexperienced Kosem going out in front of an angry crowd who demanded to know if Ahmed was dead ( he was ill with smallpox) then getting shot by some jerk, everyone thought she was dead, but she came back because the bullet hit her pendant instead. They called her a witch at first than an angel as she successfully dispersed the crowd. Eat your heart out Hurrem! Kosem was here!! Then when Ahmed and Mustafa were healed by Kosem, Ahmed went after those idiots who tried to put someone else on the throne while he was still breathing. He personal took a sword and in front of everyone chopped off his head. Something that Suleiman did early to a traitor to his realm. Although, I thought Ahmed was too soft on those traitors who try to take his throne! Banishing them! Nah! I would of had the First Brothers and the leaders beheaded. And the janissaries and civilians who stormed the palace demanded their pay or Ahmed's head, all of them would of payed much more severely. Suleiman would of never had let any traitor live, they would of all been executed for treason!!
Yes, she did give Mahidervan quite an evil spiteful witch to the character. But to that other guy who called me ridiculous, we know this is just a semi historical-fictional account of Suleiman's life. When we comment about the series, we do so because the actors and actresses played the parts so well, that it brought them all back to life again. The comments are on how the played certain scenes. They did their characters so well that you can almost forget that this happened more than 500 years ago
She's the proof people who wishes the least doesn't even get the least. And greedy, evil people gets everything. She's one of the saddest character. If a person never gets love will never missed it but when someone gives you their worlds, makes you the happiest and suddenly threw you out of their feelings cause they changed not it's not even your fault. Unlucky in love costed her everything. No women deserves a unfaithful men, a men whose not committed.
I think she was a devil more than an angel. She never really loved the Sultan. She only wanted to see her son become a King which means Sultan Suleiman's death. That is the reason why the Sultan loved Hurrem.
Irl she was much more better as a person than shown in the series. If they made her exactly she was in the history people would have loved Mahidevran more for sure.

this show made me feel that people like Hurrem who think about themselves only, who fight for them, who does so much planning plotting actually lives their life as per their desire and at last also they win.

Ok, but You forget that Hürrem contacted a magician to be a Valide sultan and this shows us that the basic aim of Hurrem is to become a powerful valide sultan. If you watch the series carefully, she firstly craved the place of Mahidevran and secondly craved to rule the Harem like the Valide sultan. She became successful thanks to Suleyman. Therefore, Hürrem not really loved Süleyman, she just loved to benefit from his power, and she knew that when absent of Süleyman, she was nothing. So, Hürrem had to be addicted to Süleyman.

First the actress is awsome she does a good job. Historically medravin (sp) had a very sad life. The show instead of realizing he's moved on her son is heir let not rock the boat. They wrote this like a wife that's been cheated on but wants to keep the man. Using the kid and being petty. And she had the modern day ending.
All these women wanted to be loved. The problem was they forgot that their man was a king with a whole harem belong to him. The king could sleep with different woman everynight if he wanted. When these women started to think they're the only one, thats when their sorrow began

How can you blame Hurrem??? The Sultan wasn't interested in mahidevran when she came to the palace, he moved on already. Mahadevan's pride got in the way, she put herself and her son in harms way by becoming a bully.
The ending showed why Hurrem was the better woman, she put her pride aside and came to Mahidevran her arch enemy and asked for forgiveness. Mahidevran the woman who lied, bullied and hated Hurrem all because the Sultan fell in love with her. In the end both woman did horrible things but only one took accountability, Mahidevran killed Hurrems son and had a chance to ask for forgiveness as well. However, she chose her pride and let that moment slip away. Hurrem will be okay when she meets Allah, can Mahidevran say the same??? Too much hatred in her heart, she loves seeing other suffer and prays for others downfall smh
I am not sure Hurrem was actually the better woman. Just consider the massive damage & loss Hurrem inflicted on the man she purported to love so much. She is largely or at least partly responsible for the deaths of his mother (Hafsa), best friend (Ibrahim), sister (Hatice), eldest son (Mustpaha) and grandson (Mehmed). And the deaths of Mustpaha appear to lead to the deaths of two more of Suleiyman's sons (Chahangir & Bayezid).
I like how Hurrem died with the pain knowing the sons she's trying to save from Mustafa who wouldn't kill them till he was alive in the series but her own sons!! How pity! How devastating she was ! What a pain to be burdened with, mahi from this side was less hurted as her son was respectfully martyred and was killed for his love and loyalty towards his father and not for his greed for throne that caused Hurrem's shehzadas end and death by the hands of own brother.

Every misfortune was a karma/ kifarah from our own sins. Either she was hurt or not by her past trauma and injustice, it was not her right to take someone's life like what she did to Prince Mehmet. And now she needs to pay that with her son's life. In fact everyone in this drama had paid for their sins; Hurrem, Ibrahim, Hatice paid with their lives, and Mahidevran, with her son's life.

Ok, but You forget that Hürrem contacted a magician to be a Valide sultan and this shows us that the basic aim of Hurrem is to become a powerful valide sultan. If you watch the series carefully, she firstly craved the place of Mahidevran and secondly craved to rule the Harem like the Valide sultan. She became successful thanks to Suleyman. Therefore, Hürrem not really loved Süleyman, she just loved to benefit from his power, and she knew that when absent of Süleyman, she was nothing. So, Hürrem had to be addicted to Süleyman.

First the actress is awsome she does a good job. Historically medravin (sp) had a very sad life. The show instead of realizing he's moved on her son is heir let not rock the boat. In the end both woman did horrible things but only one took accountability, Mahidevran killed Hurrems son and had a chance to ask for forgiveness as well. However, she chose her pride and let that moment slip away. Hurrem will be okay when she meets Allah, can Mahidevran say the same??? I am not sure Hurrem was actually the better woman. Just consider the massive damage & loss Hurrem inflicted on the man she purported to love so much. She is largely or at least partly responsible for the deaths of his mother (Hafsa), best friend (Ibrahim), sister (Hatice), eldest son (Mustpaha) and grandson (Mehmed). And the deaths of Mustpaha appear to lead to the deaths of two more of Suleiyman's sons (Chahangir & Bayezid).
