The person I was paying the most attention to was the quiet dude because for the entire game he didn't even vote once but somehow managed to stay alive.
Huge plot error. If Eric had to vote for the unborn child. That also implies any “pregnant” woman should have to vote for herself or the child if they made it to the end. Either way she is getting zapped and thus shouldn’t survive. There shouldn’t be any pregnant women at the end of the movie unless they all faked being pregnant.
My guess is that each spot having a living beeing on it counts, not how many people are on it. The pregnant women falls onto an other red spot therefore the baby activates it.
I'd say it wasn't ACTUALLY considering them as two separate people, but rather whoever was overseeing the experiment chose to prolong it and made that situation arise, after all the only logical reason we have for this entire thing is some kind of behavioral test, and what is a better stressor during a test than being alone with your thoughts for a few minutes after thinking you've won, then being forced to kill essentially a newborn after thinking all the killing is done. Its just another test, not a plot hole

Yeah, at the end of the movie it shows a bunch of pregnant women and some kids come out of the ships/standing around, so needless to say most of humanity chose to go out knowing their chances were screwed rather than directly because responsible for killing a ton of people. The question is- Wouldn't Eric be immediately caught out and cast away from society, as every ship had a pregnant woman and a child so basically, the people left are selfish and opportunistic sociopaths and psychopaths and then pregnant women and kids. I'd definitely say screw it, try to stay aslong as it took to get everyone to hopefully save the woman or kid and then peace out. It's also about living with what you've done- Eric walks out smug. He's clearly a sociopath. I couldn't live knowing I'd killed a pregnant woman or a child to survive (I'm female btw) it seems that most men and women who made it to the end chose to sacrifice themselves and it's kinda beautiful that although our main character was the sociopath, most of humanity focused on morals in the end
Plot twist... the whole game is a Vault Tec experiment. This movie actually was like an experiment in Fallout New Vegas where the vault dwellers had to vote one person as overseer or robots would come out and kill everyone but that person would be killed by firing squad once they won the election. The messed up part was that everyone in the vault but 3 people were left in the end and when they finally refused to vote on a person to die the Vault opened up congratulated them on their noble sacrifice and gave them extra rations and water and said that no one else was going to die. Just messed up man like this movie.
Except they weren't chosen at random. The final scene with the survivors had multiple pregnant women and children, my guess is there's one of each in every group
1 Preg, 1 child minimum. Though ultimately, we don't truly know the alien's motivation, and we're assuming they're aliens. We can REASONABLY assume a lot, but I don't try to guess what film makers are really thinking lol
This would leave the world with a bunch of pregnant women, kids, and strategic opportunists/psychopaths. That actually sounds like an interesting movie premise.

@@arrownoirdon’t be so sure about that. The will to survive can be incredibly strong and make you do things you would never thought yourself capable of and then you’re forced to live with the trauma and the guilt. Most people who have been in survival situations where they for example had to revert to cannibalism have been notoriously ashamed and disgusted by it after being saved. It’s always easy to say that i could never do something like that, but you can’t say what you would actually do until you’re in that situation.
When I first watched this movie, Erik stood out to me the most. I seen what he was doing and how. Part of me was like "Nah...he wouldn't, right?" then I just was seeing too many cracks in his mask and was like "Yeah, no. Bro is a professional manipulator." though, the part where he had to vote again cause of the unborn baby? That I didn't see coming, and tbh, I was like "Uhm...why and or how? Like, the child isn't even born yet. True it's alive but uh...if that's the case, then if the pregnant woman won, wouldn't she be screwed anyhow cause she'd have to vote for her unborn baby?"
If the pregnant woman was the last one, she would have to either vote to off her unborn child, or not vote and off herself. Either way it would be a lose-lose for her and the unborn baby.
someone else raises the excellent theory that each red circle registered life on it, not how many lives. when the pregnant woman died, the fetus triggered the spot she landed on, so it registered another person. it checks out. my theory is that it was just one final test for anyone who outlived a pregnant woman. it was the aliens telling him that he had to commit to it all the way by directly killing the fetus. either way, it's plausible that the pregnant women were all off the hook from making that decision.
Probably not because the game works if theirs someone alive on the circle not how many. Since the woman is already pregnant it still accepts that there's at least one living being there.

10:44 I watched that movie a long time ago, so is it possible that someone (most possibly at the back) still managed to vote, without being seen ? Just a very slight movement of one hand, in a dimly lit environment, especially when everyone is panicking, because of the erratic arrows pattern ? So, was it really a random person who got eliminated ? That's the commonly accepted conclusion among the players, but are we truly sure of that ?
yeah it's definitely not easy but it's "easy" in comparison to a lot of other death games because this at least is a quick and painless death where there's no risk of serious injury or torture or anything so it's a lot more tame even when it has a 2% survival rate
They have some kind of computer like thing in their hand, which is also how they vote, and after they die it pulls them away like a magnet into the darkness behind the circle
Eric was actually the hired human by the aliens that brought people to play the game. He's able to remain alive as long as he brings them people to play
I’d believe that if it wasn’t for his angry rant at the end when he thought they were going to kill him too before revealing he had to vote out the fetus.

Fun fact: The concept of women and children first is not maritime law. In fact, the reason the term is so famous is because of how exceptionally heroic it was for the crew of the Birkenhead to save 100% of all women and children onboard in a time where sailors and male passengers were likely to leave them behind to save themselves. In fact, it was considered so heroic that a writer sensationalized it in a poem. Women and children first was the exception, not the rule.
OMG WHY DID I GET THIS NOTIFICATION SO LATE??? IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO! Edit: When I saw this movie for the first time and saw that a pregnant woman was in it, I immediately had two thoughts: 1. How can you kill a pregnant woman?? 2. How is it gonna work if you kill a pregnant woman (who is seemingly in their third trimester) in the final two? I mean, aliens aren't gonna detect a fetus right?? So yeah, that ending kinda floored me. Like I knew going in the kid and pregnant woman were gonna die (and it was getting pretty obvious around the middle cuz everyone in that circle looked like they'd do it in a heartbeat to save their own ass) but I wasn't expecting aliens to ACTUALLY detect a fucking fetus
My interpretation of the ending was that he was walking up to a group of strangers that hadn't been abducted and didn't know what was going on other than seeing a UFO and he is intentionally signing up to participate in another round of the game because all he fucking cares about is winning period, i even questioned if what we saw was his first game
I LOVED this movie, the ending was just incredible and the way the whole scenario and reactions to said scenario were presented was absolutely enthralling.
I think alien just wanted the most selfish and miserable people to survive so it would be in their terms easier to rule? As they will definitely wont be teamplayers
That was probably just a final test for the winner because of the circumstances, they weren't ACTUALLY planning on letting the unborn fetus win or whatever, they just did it to get more data, as I'm sure thats 99% of the the reason for this in the first place
What if the aliens just abducted the humans just to have a full out riot and see what humans are like when they are fighting and no one actually dies they are just knocked unconscious and they all wake up and think it’s a dream
"Little kids and Pregnant Women are two of the highly valued and protected groups of people in human society" Me and my Pregnant sister almost be killed at the road knowing we are about to cross

As an Eagles fan who lived outside Philly but attended Eagles games every year, I know it doesn’t even take a Dallas fan to start acting out to paint a red target on their back, that happens when they walk in 😂
Actually, I just realized that after he killed the pregnant woman and he didn't vote because he didn't think about the baby still being in the game, (and obviously the baby did not vote) and following how a "No Vote" went previously, it should have been random kill instead of shining the light on both allowing a tie breaking vote.
Yeah, and ultimately that was just a test more than anything, because technically it'd mean a pregnant woman couldn't win which, while we don't know 100%, the ending seems to disprove. So that entire interaction was more likely a test to see if he'd do it again after the elation of thinking he'd won and being alone with his thoughts for the first time since the game started
As fricked up as it might seem I think many people, including me for sure wouldn't make selfless decisions at all. Humans are great at rationalising behaviour like this, especially when it comes to survival.
The minute you decide to abstain or self sacrifice is the minute you decide to let the most ruthless people have their way with things. It's like that saying “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” That alone could keep you going for awhile, the thought that its selfish to decide you don't want to deal with it just because its horrible. But you can bet I'm well aware how rigged these games are, and that the best way to win is to not play by their rules.
ill play devils advocate here but with the humans who survived their games what happen next?> i assume that the aliens just leave the survivors on earth to then survive in the post apocalyptic world. if that is the case then eric probably helped the kid and pregnant lady from a miserable existance afterward yeah there are other kids who survived but they are gonna grow up to be seriously fucked up after the traumatic experience of seeing so many people die half of which were trying to kill you and half of which tried to protect you. On top of that then they have to be with the same types of people who survived their games and try and survive in a destroyed world with likely no friends or family remaining to help you out. You will have to rely on people who don't want you, or want to help you.

The person I was paying the most attention to was the quiet dude because for the entire game he didn't even vote once but somehow managed to stay alive.
that was actually a great strategy. not giving people a reason to like or dislike you and not drawing attention to yourself.
What ERIC is right because at ending you can see There's only one person that can walk outside the Game. So even if he sacrificed himself for that pregnant lady, at end she will have to choose herself and kill the baby.
And at ending outside the ship The pregnent women you all seeing Have dead Baby inside them.
That's all
@@deepakk1347 you don't know that. look at the comment above yours. it makes sense. it also could have just been another test for anyone that outlived the pregnant woman. they had to commit to their decision to kill the unborn directly.
@@deepakk1347 wrong. The pregnant lady when she died fell on a spot that wasn't her original spot. So it's not about there being 2 things alive ar the end. Its abiut the amount of spots with a living being.
Also, they can't vote for the circle they are on.
This is one of my favorite movies. Is it a good movie? Nah, not really, but it's just such an interesting premise and entertaining commentary on society as a whole I will happily rewatch this forever
Thanks 😊
i think it debatably is a good movie, especially considering that it may not have had a huge budget. 99.9% of it was shot in a single room, and it was still fascinating.
Agreed, not a great movie, but the whole concept is compelling. It's like the trolley problem
I would have let my pessimistic side run so hard and remind everyone that nobody knows what the aliens are about with that test and how the world his right now and that succeding the test might just be signing for a whole battery of experimentations, tortures, and being left for dead on a destroyed and deserted planet. Guess most of them would have ask to be voted against after that lol
I'm pretty sure they would vote you
@@MilkGlue-xg5vjMaybe but at least I'll put confusion in their mind for the rest of the trial lmao
@@kyokudonoakuma "jesuuus christ, can somebody zapper the yapper!"
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar I didn't mean as in he will talk alot, it's also in that when everyone would want to vote himself, there is only one that will be unique that's him, so he'll be voted out, to not get voted out you must be average not unique.
I think most people would assume their doomed because it ends in a tie if your not clever like Erik. As such i think most people would probably be decent. If you dont feel like you have a shot anyways youll probably try to go out dignified
They're =/= their. for fucks sake.
"for fuck's sake" you forgot an apostrophe
And the capital F in For.
Just messed up man like this movie.
oh that's a cool theory! I'm stoked for the new Fallout series
Most movies have good endings, making this one much more shocking. That man was a genius. An evil genius, but a genius.
@@mystyc0 And I totally see a world with sentient aliens or an extremely over-reaching gov't entity going ham like this for an experiment. Cool, and terrifying.
The group was so diverse that there’s no way it could have been random. I mean u had people of so many different cultures and backgrounds, a lawful cop to a murderous criminal, extremely religious to extremely atheist, a child up to seniors. This group seems almost “too random” it can’t possibly be random.
@@mystyc0don’t forget the random lucky people!
This is a film i could totally see as a discussion topic in college level social science classes
Anyone who would live would probably be miserable knowing the choices they made to survive.
If you’re willing to do all of that to live, I’m sure your conscience won’t be a problem.
Yea but if u didn't make those choice u wouldnt be alive now so it was a risk worth takin
bro I would rather save myself than a random stranger
@@arrownoirdon’t be so sure about that. The will to survive can be incredibly strong and make you do things you would never thought yourself capable of and then you’re forced to live with the trauma and the guilt. Most people who have been in survival situations where they for example had to revert to cannibalism have been notoriously ashamed and disgusted by it after being saved. It’s always easy to say that i could never do something like that, but you can’t say what you would actually do until you’re in that situation.
not me lol
@@jenniferhamels1176 not necessarily.
someone else raises the excellent theory that each red circle registered life on it, not how many lives. when the pregnant woman died, the fetus triggered the spot she landed on, so it registered another person. it checks out.
my theory is that it was just one final test for anyone who outlived a pregnant woman. it was the aliens telling him that he had to commit to it all the way by directly killing the fetus.
either way, it's plausible that the pregnant women were all off the hook from making that decision.
Probably not because the game works if theirs someone alive on the circle not how many. Since the woman is already pregnant it still accepts that there's at least one living being there.
I wouldn’t have told anyone how it worked & would’ve kept lowkey voting & killing people off 😅🤦🏿♀️

Beating Death Game in Circle isn't as easy as you may think it is. You must be willing to make brutal sacrifices along the way.
*beating death game in circle isn’t as easy as you may think it is*
npc move, gg, here’s a like and ur first reply!
True, but I didn’t think it was easy in the first place 😳😳
No shit 😂
Yeah with people you likely don’t even know it definitely seems a lot better than most of the death games on this channel
yeah it's definitely not easy but it's "easy" in comparison to a lot of other death games because this at least is a quick and painless death where there's no risk of serious injury or torture or anything so it's a lot more tame even when it has a 2% survival rate
Where do the corpses go? Is it ever shown in the movie if they're taken away or something? Because I can't see any dead bodies lying around.
Yeah they kinda just get pulled away. You can't see by what tho
They have some kind of computer like thing in their hand, which is also how they vote, and after they die it pulls them away like a magnet into the darkness behind the circle
I would rather die with my principles intact rather than living as something I would despise.
I'll take that step thank you very much.
Eric was actually the hired human by the aliens that brought people to play the game. He's able to remain alive as long as he brings them people to play
I’d believe that if it wasn’t for his angry rant at the end when he thought they were going to kill him too before revealing he had to vote out the fetus.
@@kitebrethren it's called red herring. They used that as a ploy to make him seem like the rest.

I remember asking myself the same question when watching this movie, and honestly, I'm DOOMED. Not even this video can save my life.
i seen this when it first came out and ive been waiting to see one of these!
THANK YOU!!! I have been waiting forever for this video to happen! :D
This is literally Among us without the imposter and only killing each other with votes 😂😂😂😂

Be interesting to see a group of 50 child contestants... Assuming they're clever enough to figure out how to play.
One armed man: let's go out with some dignity
Zzavid: FUCK DIGNITY. I wanna WALK outta here
My interpretation of the ending was that he was walking up to a group of strangers that hadn't been abducted and didn't know what was going on other than seeing a UFO and he is intentionally signing up to participate in another round of the game because all he fucking cares about is winning period, i even questioned if what we saw was his first game
Man, i remember watching this movie and hating it because of the end. The Quit Man was the true G tho

"fuck around, and find out" ahh movie
I think alien just wanted the most selfish and miserable people to survive so it would be in their terms easier to rule? As they will definitely wont be teamplayers
I would absolutely let the kid live.
This movie was amazing and so intense. And beautifully done. Such an underrated gem.
Makes me wonder. Did the pregnant mothers choose to kill their own children? Considering the light was still on the child at the end.

Actually, I just realized that after he killed the pregnant woman and he didn't vote because he didn't think about the baby still being in the game, (and obviously the baby did not vote) and following how a "No Vote" went previously, it should have been random kill instead of shining the light on both allowing a tie breaking vote.
Yeahhh

It's like that saying “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
That alone could keep you going for awhile, the thought that its selfish to decide you don't want to deal with it just because its horrible.
But you can bet I'm well aware how rigged these games are, and that the best way to win is to not play by their rules.
This is the most genius way to do a low budget Sci fi horror movie. 99% of it is just people in a dark room.
