@luc1ferblack on top of seeing there's a market for it, they'll know its somewhat straightforward and people with those skills exist in the VR community. Hell if Dolphin could get that close to an official Steam release, UEVR injector could make magic for VR having the community work on more obscure games while larger UE games have something like "official profiles" from the devs with things like 3D models and perfect setup available from the source with low effort and commitment from Dev companies. The injector just shows you how little effort devs needed to make games playable in VR. They delibrately flipped switches to disable VR. The Unreal Engine supports VR. All they really need to do is allow hooks so that people can mod the games for VR and let UE do the rest. It wouldn't surprise me if the next thing is these companies sueing PayDog to block his mod.
It is truly truly an incredible start to an incredible journey. With a year or more of testing, profile production, building out infrastructure around it (a legit profile library w/ a separate website perhaps) and having community feedback, I feel UEVR will be an invaluable and automatic part of any VR enthusiast's repertoire. For real. Also, if you can, please contribute to Praydog directly. He and the team deserve TONS of praise for releasing this for FREE to all of us.
Agreed, as I said on Reddit, a measly £5 per month to reward the team and encourage them to keep developing on this with new versions ala Vorpx for years. If you enjoy using it to experience gameworlds in full real scale, and being IN the game you thought you never would see, do the decent thing. Even if it's just a one off payment, it shows the team how grateful we are.
UE4 and 5 have VR support built into the engine. This mod is configuring what's in the engine to actually work properly, as the developers of the games that don't support VR never enabled it and configured it.
Tbh, these games are made to look at great as possible on screen - and that usually means bad VR performance even in top cards. They would need to tweak and test extensively throughout the game to release something properly supported - and that may be more work than the niche VR market may deserve. But who knows, maybe lots of these formidable big full games is what is needed to grow the market until devs feel like officially supporting it
@@VRnamekthere are scalability settings right there in the engine. As the mod shows, it's not too much to enable VR support for the games. Now, enabling motion controls is a different story. That's much more work.
@@randomcheese1719 Yeah, but anyone that has used tools that add VR into non VR games will tell you, devs get lazy and leave things "floating" above the ground and misplaced that you normally would never notice unless you were in VR. They'd have to spend a lot more work making sure that wasn'tthe case, which is a PITA by itself i'm sure.
@@-FAFO-The companies making these games don't enable VR probably because there's not enough return on that investment. Maybe this mod will get enough buzz going so that changes.
What is funny is how many games have an existing unused 3D profile you need to clear out. So somebody at the studio either tried to get it to work officially and the feature got cut, or had some fun on the weekend and didn't clean up their tracks well lol.
Thanks for a realistic perspective on Praydog's brilliant mod. The hype is truly deserved, but many people with poor hardware, a lack of technical knowledge and patience will be disappointed. I hope the majority of us have already or are intending to make a donation to Praydog. Especially people who bought Vorpex, because this is on another level and he deserves remuneration for his work...
At a glance, this mod looks like an actual miracle. I imagine it was already hard enough to get a hmd to work as a camera in every game, but to individually adjust every game object, and add motion controls on top of that? I can't imagine how hard it must have been to create this mod.
that's not at all how it works that would be impossible, that's why a game can come out tomorrow and work as soon as it's released he doesn't individually go into each game and change everything
The profiles system was a stroke of genius. It allows the community to work away, like a colony of ants. The number of quality profiles should rise RAPIDLY. I don't have PCVR, but have always planned to spend the money to get a powerful system specifically for VR. Anyway, this is the first time the cost of PCVR seems well worth it for gaming (for me anyway). It's now a must have. Will I buy tomorrow? No. I'm super cheap. But I will get one eventually.
As someone using a Pimax Crystal, RTX 4090 and an AMD 7950X3D CPU, I can say without a doubt, it ruined 2D gaming for me. I am having a blast playing Lies of P and Stray using a PS5 controller. The visuals are simply amazing, it literally adds a whole new dimension to games!
@@nickg2691 No doubt. The immersive perspective is guaranteed to make the experience better. I'm playing Horizon Fobidden West at the moment (not moddable via UEVR, I know), and can only imagine playing the same game, but WITHIN VR.
@@garmsen666 click on the info section of this video then follow the link next to "Get started with the UEVR mod here" that will open a Google doc with a ton of information, look at the top of the Google doc for the profiles tab. There are only a few for now because the mod was only released a few days ago.
Buy a used meta quest 2, games are great. The 3 wasn’t a big enough jump. I own both. Quest 2 will work with pcvrwith steamlink, you’ll need your pc hooked to wired internet and use wifi for cordless headset. The corded pc is so there’s less interference in the air wave
The "flat gun" issue is likely because the gun model is rendered on a separate pass than other geometry to avoid it from clipping into near geometry (for example when you stand close to a wall). It's a trick that many games use. It might also have been rendered into a texture and then rendered as a flat rectangle mesh on top of existing frame.
The scope of this mod is beyond staggering. But the thing that excites me even more is the potential for what other people can do with it. Imagine if current and future FPS/TPS unreal games could be made to run with all the features of Praydogs Resident Evil mods. Things like STALKER 2, Bloodlines 2, Cyberpunk 2 and the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot with full rendered IK, motion controls and two handed weapon handling. The potential is endless. I'm especially excited for the Witcher remake and sequel. Exploring and interacting with that world and those characters in first person VR will be a dream come true.
We all knew how much modding does, if only for rhythm games like beatsaber or GH/RB/Clone Hero... but this is definitely something else. The customization options and the ability to just dive into all sorts of presets are, uh, unreal, to be annoying about it. This is really, really exciting stuff, and I'd argue that Epic massively benefits from this symbiotic relationship itself. The future is definitely looking bright.
@minhuang8848 Not just epic but devs themselves. I spent over £250 on games the day the injector came out. Plus it only works with legitimately bought games so I imagine a lot of people will be buying games purely for VR that would never have done so otherwise.
Congratulations again Ben on becoming VR creator’s 2023 you earned it keeping us informed on all things VR. See you in virtual reality some day bud. Cheers mate
Thank you for being one of the only TH-cam channels that is being real about this mod. Too many are saying, "Go into any UE game (some are even leaving out the Unreal Engine part!), press inject, and you have perfect VR gaming!" I've been watching those and then leaving comments telling people to temper their excitement as it is not quite that simple. I've only tried 4 or 5 games (Bioshock 2 and the remastered version - don't know if that counts as the same game in people's minds - but neither one worked) and only one worked well and one worked ok. The other three (or two, depending on how you look at it) did not work at all or crashed immediately afterward. Yes, this is certainly exciting, and I look forward to tinkering and downloading some profiles for the games, but it's not all plug and play and I appreciate you being straight about this.
Use this spreadsheet to see which games other testers have tried and the results docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZcjCQwzPOltaRZnpYU5_HPihEDareZq_0Ww1DZQ4USw/htmlview#
@@jonathantate6048 I have read the documentation and I know it works for UE4 and UR5 - I didn’t know (at the time) which UE version Bioshock utilized so I tried it. That’s kind of my point - many TH-camrs are stating any UE game can be converted to VR.
Great video Beardo, and a very netural and insightful take on the hype. So far I've only tested Abzû and a few fighting games, but the mod already blows my socks off. To be able to take a game I love, click a button, and to "be there" in a VR headset seconds later is crazy. Another positive effect this mod might have for PCVR, or VR in general, is that developers and studios might finally see the thrill of playing a 3rd person game in VR. IF you build a game like Tales of Arise, you have an overworld and 3D models of everything. Including VR support should be easy to implement, and will immerse the player so much more than a flat VR-game. Also, camera controls and world scale in the mod is some of my favorite additions. Being able to make a fighting game look like figurines figting infront of you, or getting to inspect your favorite locations or characters is so cool!
This video was excellent, and I was fully engaged throughout.. It even got me to pull out my VR headset that's been collecting dust on my shelf after 2 years.. Never thought I would see the day!
Really well written and explained you showed us exactly why you earned vr content creator of the year. Not just this thing is amazing or this thing sucks.
Maybe studios will get soon that many people dont care for the vr controls, but would love to play their regular games with the view and immersion of the headset. This is a big step in that direction
I'm playing SCORN and it's UNBELIEVABLE on my (sigh) Reverb G2 and Rtx 3090. I already bought many flat titles to mod I didn't have yet. This is a revolution to say the least. It could turn the market of VR upside down imho, In term of both software and hardware.
The Reverb G2 is a really good option for this mod, since it can do 60Hz or 90Hz mode, leaving a lot more room for performance/visual gains with games in UEVR.
Once again, an informative, interesting and well explained video. You are a natural. No stutters or hesitation.... and very interesting. Seeing as this thing has only been around a few days, this piece is above and beyond anything else put out there!
A video like this one shows why you won best VR TH-camr of the year. I watched a few videos on this topic that were all good in their own way. However, yours is the only one I felt like there was the perfect balance of including as much useful information as possible while not going too much into details when not necessary. This mod is a big news for VR, nor so much for my wallet though lol 😅
I'm excited about UEVR, but just playing a game in VR is only part of it. Interacting with the world by grabbing, climbing, and other VR specific actins is waht immerses me. Hope this is all possible with modes. Great video!
I am so thankful for this video! You didn’t sugar coat it, and you helped me set reasonable expectations. I have to admit I whined when you said Days Gone didn’t run great, but that’s why I appreciated it. I would have been even more upset finding out on my own
i've tried it with atomic heart and probably watched a dozen videos by one of the people on his team. it is absolutely amazing on what you can do with it (i am using this game to learn as much as possible). it is so much more than just a mod that lets you play in VR. the future is bright for PCVR! if you told me that 10 fully fledged out PCVR games released at the same time. i would be astounded. this is so much more than that.
Sometimes it's grand to relax and play a seated vr game. I loved Chronos and Edge of nowhere. This looks like it'll allow a seated vr experience with UE games.
I just upgraded my System from the VR minimum to a mid range spec, I went for a 4060Ti as I am a self funded retiree and the higher spec GPU's are just priced so crazy as to be a rip off rather than because of the technology. I am impressed with how good the Native games are for the Q3, let alone to be able to play virtually everything on my PC just blew me away/ Half Life Alyx just amazed me so much I couldn't believe it and I only had the minimum spec at the time and was why I upgraded a little $1500 is a reasonable upgrade as there was no way I was spending $2500 just for a GPU as then the CPU I would need was also over double the price of the CPU I went for. Last time I upgraded it cost me $2500 for everything and that was pretty close to the top spec at the time for a single GPU system. I am really looking forward to the next five years as we are now at the base level for what VR should be and from the way people react to my Q3 after trying it out, I know many more people will be getting into VR now thanks to the Quest 3 and with the Air link or Steam VR ability, it's now where I was hoping it would be 20 years ago :) At least the Q3 is not a huge disappointment that Duke Nukem was after that long wait. SOmethings are worth waiting for, now it can only get better as well as things we may not realise we want or need will get added. Walking platform is my top of the Wish List and at a price that I don't need to Rob a bank would be nice. I would pay $1500 and maybe even $2000 if it was a good and multip person unit, not one of these silly ones that need special shoes as then everyone that uses it needs their own shoes. We are now so close to the future of what we see in Sci-FI movies, the treadmill is the final step :) pun intended.
Found the 4060Ti didn't have enough memory and so changed it for a 4070Ti with 12GB, should have spent a little more and gotten a 16 or 24gb version, at least the Oculus app no longer says I don't have enough memory, it would have helped had the App said it was GPU memory and not just memory.
My other huge argument is - You dont have to pay or wait for the official VR mode which sometimes is a dedicated game copy that costs as much as the standalone version
Unsurprisingly, the best levelheaded explanation and pseudo-review of UEVR so far. SO tired of all the algorithm-focused videos proliferating on YT the last few days. Would have expected nothing less from BB.
I wish somebody would remake the Condemned series - Condemned: Criminal Origins and Bloodshot would be so absolutely perfect for VR - the brutal melee combat, the creepy atmosphere, the investigation/detective mechanics, all of it is so perfect for virtual reality. I hope that series gets remade one day, I would absolutely pay $60 for a ground-up VR remake.
Hi Beardo, yours is definitely the best channel on VR!. Especially because you also greatly appreciate the work done by Luke. Instead, the most well-known Italian commentators who consider themselves VR experts don't talk about it at all... and I asked myself: how can you not appreciate a modder who with his work allows (has allowed!) to play GTAV or RDR2 and have a channel that talks about VR? MYSTERY!!!. I had already appreciated the work done by Praydog with the mod for Resident Evil and I was waiting for this universal mod with great impatience!!!. I'm downloading Ark survival evolved, Way of the hunter, to try this amazing UEmods.....the premises are amazing.
It seems to be a bit game dependent but the OpenXR Toolkit is working with several games as well. I am using it while playing Stray on the Pimax Crystal @ 120Hz. I am using the Pimax Smart Smoothing feature which does frame generation from 60FPS up to the 120FPS so it is important to stay above 60FPS in game. Using the OpenXR Toolkit to turn on Eye Tracked Foveiated rendering as well as the Nvidia resolution upscaler I can reliably keep the frame rate above 60FPS regardless of the scene. Without the toolkit, I was dipping into the upper 40's. It is really amazing to see all this come together to create an absolutely incredible and immersive gaming experience. It honestly lived up to the hype which seems a bit rate these days! Great video, thanks!
What other games are you finding work/don't work with the eye tracked foveated rendering? I was a beta tester for the UEVR mod with the Crystal but gave up on trying as most things were crashing that I tried. Maybe praydog fixed that in an update since I tried.
@@jonathantate6048 So far the only one I have tried is Stray. It seems pretty stable as I haven't crashed yet and it gives me a FPS boost from 47 to about 55 then I use the resolution scaling to 80% to get me to the 65-70 FPS mark and Smart Smoothing does the rest. It is always hard to tell if DFR is actually working but I am looking as far down and to the corner as I can and I cannot see the reduced render quality.
I absolutely understand what you mean when you say you have to go into it with an understanding of your PC limitations. I had to sacrifice to hit 60 frames consistent on my PC when I play Elden ring but it’s totally worth it
If you have the hardware and can't understand UEVR I feel very sorry for you. You're missing out the most impressive, incredible and immersive experience you could have in VR right now.
Wow! Just wow! Tried this out, and there is absolutely adjustments to be made for each game, but that it works so well out of the box... It's kind of insane! I only have a couple of ue4 games, but the basic flow to get a game working well is 1) choose the rendering method. And note that changing method can crash the game... But restart and try again, and save your profile once you get what you like. Seems like most 2D centric games need native, and 3D centric games need one of the alternate rendering options. 2) disable filters. Things like chromatic abberation in jedi fallen order, or the tilt shift effect in octopath traveler was a must as these are often 2D effects drawn on top, or are dependant on 2D assumptions about the view to apply, so it doesn't render the 2nd eye in a coherent way. Some of these are disabled in the game settings, and some are in the tool settings. 3) adjust your zoom/scale for the headset, and zoom/scale for any in-game gui. ... And really, that is about it. The rest is really just preference. That said, the performance issues are real. I'm running a 3090, and high settings did slow things down even for the older games I have. You are effectively rendering the game 3-4 times. One for the on screen display, one for each eye, and if you have the mixed reality app open then it is doing an entirely different render. So stopping the mixed reality preview helps. Setting the game to a small window helps. Turning off filters in the game helps both rendering and 3D weirdness. But having the frame rate in the headset drop too low is nausia inducing, so keeping the in-headset above 80fps is a must. A beautiful game that makes you puke isn't helpful lol. Still, so much fun! Tomorrow I'm going to try and see if I can get it to work with some ue 3.x games as that is most of what I have. I imagine games like xcom would be fun in vr! I really hope we can get something like this for other rendering engines! 3rd person games like final fantasy, or horizon zero dawn would be neat! This really brings a whole breath of fresh air to my VR experience! It's funny to me that the November windows updates and steam vr fixed so many of the tracking issues that prevented me from doing. And then Microsoft announced the end of vr Windows support and development lol. Now we get a tool like this and... Damn... I feel like this is what vr has been missing all this time!
I do need a 4090 though. I tried some of PrayDogs mods and it didn't do it for me. Everything would break immersion. I've also messed around with Vorpx, which was bad too. Nothing more annoying than spending tons of time tweaking settings while trying to straddle an HMD for lackluster results. Not for me.
Beardo, really interesting video buddy, I build PC's to cater to things like this new mod and it was genuinely so refreshing to hear you talking about graphics settings and DLSS etc, its a conversation i have frequently! You hit the nail on the head! you have to adapt, even a 4090 will struggle which at £1800+ just for a GPU it's hard to explain that sometimes.
Look what one capable man can do with some determination and a strong work ethic! I don't have a pc strong enough to benefit from this today, but you can bet the farm when I DO, this will be one of the first things I get going.
I've only dipped my toes in with Abzu, since it was rated as "potato pc" level in the UEVR Steam Winter Sale game list and my RX 6600 XT is perhaps just a bit above that these days. Also it cost $7 AUD, so not something I was going to lose sleep over if I couldn't get it to run. Took a while to get it running mind you, and following the game specific instructions in the discord was the only reason I had the time (took me about 30 minutes including getting UEVR and making an exception for it in my Antivirus software). It required running the game in windowed mode, increasing all the settings to ultra, selecting the synced sequential mode in UEVR, deselecting the "ghosting fix", turning the water reflections to 0 with the console and motion blur to 0 with the UEVR slider. Setting everything to Ultra in the games graphics settings to resolve lighting issues (default is "High", but the light under the plants wasn't working at all, making it a very black game) was a bit counter intuitive and not something the testers and all other players had encountered (there were a couple with the same issue). That took the majority of the time I spent getting everything running. Abzu in VR was excellent. Third person adventures focused on the audio visual experience are definitely a good fit for VR. Only issue is that there's some pop in, as it's culling some of the fish (not all, usually the schools) when they would be outside a flatscreen perspective, but surprisingly it's not completely immersion breaking. I'm certainly impressed, both with the experience and UEVR's potential. UEVR is actually amazingly streamlined for a mod this powerful, feature packed and broadly applicable
Thanks for the balanced view as always. Watched some others but I was waiting for this to get the pros AND cons without the hysteria. The current state is very impressive and it is still officially in beta IIRC. Development by Praydog looks likely to continue, and as stated here, I'm really looking forward to the community adding it's own support to this. (I think this deserves a 😁)
I haven't enough time for UEVR right now but I'm really hyped about its future. If someone can deal with those little issues then that'll be a lot more top quality games that feel like they're native. Till then I have more specific mods and VR native titles to play.
I used Vorpx for several of my favorites, but always found issues that couldn't be overcome. One camera moved in a grid, causing nausea. Visual effects were always floating above the scene. If this works like you say, I'm very excited.
Expertly crafted video on such a broad subject! Mentioned things that I've been wanting to say in regard to expectations, tinkering, and the amount of games that have been actually tested/compatible atm! Well done my good sir! 👊🏻🍺
With RoboCop I had a similar wierd gun problem, I set camera to right hand in the input setting, then scrolled down to the confug setting then imediately my gun was working correctly, I still had to realign my camera to match the gun with my motion controller.
Since you are talking about the hardware and configuration side of VR, especially needed fot for "lower end" systems. Can you recommend some comprehensive compilation of guides and tips? For example i try to use Rift (usb) connection for my Q3, but can't get fpsVR working using steam link over USB (rift). I am trying to read through flat2vr discord, but it is not like a collaborative guide like on fandom or similar wikis. Also i am trying to use ALVR, but was also not able to use the USB reroute. And out of curiosity, how do you use the link? Wifi, dedicated router/wifi stick, ALVR, ..?
Hey Waifu! For anyone that doesn't know - this user waifu enjoyer is one of Praydogs main testers for UEVR and has great videos and user guides on how to use it. I recommend subbing and checking out his channel you intend to use uevr 👍
@@royrogers495 hey 👋 great to see awesome content from the community after launch. Will take some small break with a Holiday to Japan this month but will continue covering new builds’ features and guides.

Great spiel bro I think we’re on a similar page. Hard to really evaluate with such beauty rigs aswell! 😂 Looking forward to making some profiles for the community 🎉
For what it's worth the Robocop issue you showed looks like you have 3DOF aiming instead of 6DOF aiming. Also the way you described moving the cursor around sounds like 3DOF aiming. I think you may have loaded up an older profile that had 3DOF aiming. To my understanding 6 DOF aiming was only added extremely recently (like the last few days before release).
Thanks for a great video @beardobenjo. Could you please touch on these points: 1) Can you play using regular mouse / keyboard controls instead of motion controllers 2) Have you tried any of the popular online FPS's (Fortnite, Apex Legends) Thanks.
The reason that the motion controls are like moving a mouse is bexause they bind to the actual controls. So if you move your aim to the right, it triggers the game's "start looking to the right" binding
I'm so glad you mentioned it being possible to use lower end cards. I have a 2060 and so far have had a great experience with it. Other youtubers have made it sound like if you don't own a 4090 you are going to have a crappy experience and that is certainly not the case.
I spent about 10 hours, trying to get it to work on my brand, new gaming PC. Once I figured out how to allow it, pass the virus scan… Then I kept getting a failed plug-in error. After about two days I finally got it working with the quarry which is what I wanted. By the way, it said it worked well, but my experience was it looked good for a moment, and then it was completely unplayable with a 4080. And unfortunately. I think I’m gonna wait until more profiles come out because I can’t lose all that time again lol. I think it’s going to be great but it definitely doesn’t just work. I put a lot of “learning & researching” time into it and in the end the game didn’t work at all.
Great review man, UEVR really seems a massive gamechanger. Hopefully, from THIS, gamedevs will realize that a "VR gamemode" for their games isn't as crazy as they think it is.
Very very cool. always love your content! As a disabled gamer just a couple of questions. I have cerebral palsy and I can't ever use motion controls, but I've loved using vorpx and lukeross GTA with a gamepad over the years. can I just confirm that use can use a pro controller/xbox gamepad/dualshock etc if you just want to play standard controls for flat games in uevr? also, can you remap the buttons, either with the mod or via steam, if overlay works with it? cheers and keep having fun
omg - i really hope Days Gone gets a VR Boost. It's literally one of my all-time favourite games, and if it gets a VR mod, I can't imagine it'd be possible for me to be more excited. Definitely going to give this a go in the meantime.
It amazes me how well people can make VR as a hobby. Imagine if the Game studios with the time and money to spend actually cared to make VR in their games. Hopefully some day there is enough hype. I am glad this mod exists, because modders are keeping PCVR alive.
Anyone going into this blindly, think of it as a VR emulation trying to get software not ment for VR put actually running that’s the experience everyone going have when playing classic in virtual reality. Going be great year in PC VR.
Out of all the games you showcased, the one I was hoping to work perfectly was Days Gone. Hopefully in the future they can get it up and running, or even Dying light. But hats off to the praydog team, what an awesome Mod!!!
Yes, I want Days Gone. Beardo did a video 3 years ago- How to Play Dying Light VR in VR. Only for Quest. There's a secret switch to turn on. In comments: Start the game once. Comment one month ago: It is important to say that you need to use DirectX 11 with Dying Light VR on Win11, I couldn't get it to launch with my Meta Quest 3 until I forced it with Dx11 then, DL started full VR on the first try. It uses Chrome Engine so won't work with UEVR. I haven't tried it as I found out after a 2nd playthrough and will give a long wait before the VR playthrough.
I used Vorpx a lot but most games required a lot of tweaking to make them run more or less correctly. That what the most exciting thing for me about the UEVR mod - hit Inject and it works. The weaking options are also supereasy to use. It's not perfect yet, like you I did get crashes and other issues, but as a first release it's amazing that it already runs this well. Playing games like Bloodstained, Atomic Heart and Pinball FX in VR is simply fantastic.
So to play something like Returnal reliably, including the price of getting/upgrading to a Quest 3 for best headset performance are we looking at around $1500-2000 here?
Thanks Beardo. Great measured video (without the hyperbole). It all looks very impressive. Slightly disappointed to hear that Days Gone doesn't work in it because that's one of my fave games. Hopefully that might get tweaked and fixed if that's even possible.
I love VR so much. I've wanted this since the 90s when the VFX1 was released! Any other 90s kids out there? I still love my point and click adventures though. Haha. I currently own and Odyssey + and a Reverb G2 V2 both with mods and custom lenses. What are you all running??

Why would it? This converts existing games to VR it has nothing to do with new games being for VR

@@JohanLiebert1That isn't what was said at all. He said individually adjust every game object, which is exactly what is happening

Buy a used meta quest 2, games are great. The 3 wasn’t a big enough jump. I own both. Quest 2 will work with pcvrwith steamlink, you’ll need your pc hooked to wired internet and use wifi for cordless headset. The corded pc is so there’s less interference in the air wave
cant wait to see how this will change and drive VR to new limits great video!
@@Treebsquire Where did you hear that it only works with legit games?
S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 and Cyberpunk 2 in VR is going to be a wet dream. Wet horrofying dream for the first one lol

You need to read the documentation. It doesn't work on UE3 games, only UE4 and 5

@@jonathantate6048 I have read the documentation and I know it works for UE4 and UR5 - I didn’t know (at the time) which UE version Bioshock utilized so I tried it. That’s kind of my point - many TH-camrs are stating any UE game can be converted to VR.
@@tattoodude8946 gotcha, yeah the TH-camrs have to be sensational to get views I guess
I am happy to hear Beardo Benjo's opinion on UEVR mod. Thanks for covering it, Beardo!
Really well written and explained you showed us exactly why you earned vr content creator of the year. Not just this thing is amazing or this thing sucks.
WOW! I'm a fairly avid quest 3 user ... haven't heard squat about UEVR - until I saw this! Downloading this right tf NOW!! 😁😁😁
cool video. what's the game at the 5 minute mark?
warhammer 4000 boltgun
@@comdudeskip Exactly! In 60hz mode I can boost resolution from 2700 * 2700 to 3400 * 3400 px per eye!
Oh the reverb. I don’t miss those controllers lol. 2 aaa batteries done in 4 hours. Amazing resolution tho.

The future of VR is bright!
Sometimes it's grand to relax and play a seated vr game.
I loved Chronos and Edge of nowhere.
This looks like it'll allow a seated vr experience with UE games.
A really helpful and considered look of the reality of UEVR. Completely blown away by it. Thanks for making the video, really useful
I just upgraded my System from the VR minimum to a mid range spec, I went for a 4060Ti as I am a self funded retiree and the higher spec GPU's are just priced so crazy as to be a rip off rather than because of the technology.
I am impressed with how good the Native games are for the Q3, let alone to be able to play virtually everything on my PC just blew me away/
Half Life Alyx just amazed me so much I couldn't believe it and I only had the minimum spec at the time and was why I upgraded a little $1500 is a reasonable upgrade as there was no way I was spending $2500 just for a GPU as then the CPU I would need was also over double the price of the CPU I went for.
Last time I upgraded it cost me $2500 for everything and that was pretty close to the top spec at the time for a single GPU system.
I am really looking forward to the next five years as we are now at the base level for what VR should be and from the way people react to my Q3 after trying it out, I know many more people will be getting into VR now thanks to the Quest 3 and with the Air link or Steam VR ability, it's now where I was hoping it would be 20 years ago :)
At least the Q3 is not a huge disappointment that Duke Nukem was after that long wait.
Jeez! I've just got the Quest 3 as my first experience into VR gaming, this looks incredible! Great video
Finally! seeing you play crash 4 is exactly what I'd love. if VR modes or ground up is expensive... id love 3D cinematic mode or 3rd person VR
A fair and clear review there dude. Its not perfect, but damn is it amazing :)
Also make sure you are using the PimaxXR tool and have "Allow use of the eye tracker" checked.
I absolutely understand what you mean when you say you have to go into it with an understanding of your PC limitations. I had to sacrifice to hit 60 frames consistent on my PC when I play Elden ring but it’s totally worth it
Holy shit, elden freaking ring??? Man!! I'm so jelly.

If you have the hardware and can't understand UEVR I feel very sorry for you.
You're missing out the most impressive, incredible and immersive experience you could have in VR right now.
This sounds great! Love VR and the thought of having more great vr games will be amazing
Wow! Just wow!
Tried this out, and there is absolutely adjustments to be made for each game, but that it works so well out of the box... It's kind of insane!
I only have a couple of ue4 games, but the basic flow to get a game working well is
1) choose the rendering method.
Not for me.
I always wanted my beloved games come to VR and this is amazing process, definitely revolution in VR.
That's amazing. Never even heard of it until I stumbled across this video. The holy grail of VR development.
Not only thousands of games, but also many, many UE demo's that could be experienced in VR. I'm hoping profiles for these demo's will be made.
which UE demos are we talking about?

I can't believe you ran Scorn on this thing, kudos for that lol
Thanks for the balanced view as always. Watched some others but I was waiting for this to get the pros AND cons without the hysteria. The current state is very impressive and it is still officially in beta IIRC. Development by Praydog looks likely to continue, and as stated here, I'm really looking forward to the community adding it's own support to this. (I think this deserves a 😁)
Hell yes! Thank you for passing this news on!
Its far better than Vorpx. That is a bit shit and really limited
Probably shouldnt knock VORPX he created the first viable idea that it could be done.@@WiltedEnfield2

Could you please touch on these points:
1) Can you play using regular mouse / keyboard controls instead of motion controllers
2) Have you tried any of the popular online FPS's (Fortnite, Apex Legends)

The reason that the motion controls are like moving a mouse is bexause they bind to the actual controls. So if you move your aim to the right, it triggers the game's "start looking to the right" binding

It amazes me how well people can make VR as a hobby. Imagine if the Game studios with the time and money to spend actually cared to make VR in their games. Hopefully some day there is enough hype. I am glad this mod exists, because modders are keeping PCVR alive.
Excellent informative video. Excited to give this a try!
Anyone going into this blindly, think of it as a VR emulation trying to get software not ment for VR put actually running that’s the experience everyone going have when playing classic in virtual reality. Going be great year in PC VR.
Amazing, i have a dinosaur of a PC but am exited about this, by the time i upgrade I'm sure this will have advanced leaps and bounds.
Absolutely awesome!
What a great imformative and well made video hitting all the important points. Well done! 🙏♥️
I did not expect first person Crash Bandicoot to like so much fun.
Almost any game can be cool in first person. I've always wondered why there aren't first person VR sports games.
Excellent video Ben
how to far out camera and make the camera your head like in crash ?
I used Vorpx a lot but most games required a lot of tweaking to make them run more or less correctly. That what the most exciting thing for me about the UEVR mod - hit Inject and it works. The weaking options are also supereasy to use. It's not perfect yet, like you I did get crashes and other issues, but as a first release it's amazing that it already runs this well. Playing games like Bloodstained, Atomic Heart and Pinball FX in VR is simply fantastic.
Pretty awesome! I feel bad for the all the non-VR devs about to get hit with tons of VR-related issue tickets, though XD
Already seeing mods designed to work along side this injector. What a world.
What are you all running??
random question, what HR Giger like game is that at 13:40?
Scorn. Relatively short game by modern standards & more of a walking puzzle game with enemies. Came out Oct 2022.
