for mac users as myself, here is something to do this: boot camp. go to the official apple site and follow the steps to install a partition in your disk drive and use windows like I did (physically you'll need a 32gb or bigger USB drive) and do it.
Windows can view the ur0 folder provided you're connected through FTP. However, you still need to download config.txt before making any changes and then upload it back to ur0/tai. You can skip this process by installing a program called Autoplugin on your Vita, which, as the name suggests, does everything for you.
Great video tutorial. I'm just confused, why didn't you use the USB feature of VitaShell to connect the console to your PC. Also, ur0 can be accessed via VitaShell's FTP feature. I find it easier and faster.
Hey! Nice workaround, works perfectly and now i can stream with my ps vita xD it's amazing. Just wanted to leave the information that this plugin is easier to install with autoplugin now. Works perfect, too.
Awesome! Lack of video out on the Vita handhelds has always been something of a disappointment for me considering Sony ended up adding video out to the later model PSPs. Ideally, it would have launched with support for it or at least been present in the slim revision. The PSP homebrew scene I recall having a similar solution to this that I used to capture video over USB with my launch model PSP. Still have that one around somewhere, but it was semi-bricked and while I could attempt recovery with a Pandora Battery, I never got it booting normally again. Curious if that might be something easier to fix all these years later.
Ive went through ALL this trouble and i found this video at the RIGHT time, right when i installed obs which was a pain, because i needed a special working source that still worked for the mac OS, and the QCMA plug in took a while too, but i didnt know the last steps were that easy!! Thanks
Did you press "Select" in Vitashell to create a connection as USB device to your PC in the end? Make sure to bind the "SELECT button" to USB in the "Start"-settings aswell
I hacked 2 PS Vitas, and just now learned that you can do this. However, the amount of steps it takes to get it streaming to a TV, added in with the steps it takes to play local multiplayer from the vita, completely turns me off from these methods. I am glad I got a PSTV to alleviate these issues so I can have the ultimate local multiplayer emulation machine
