    This review is spot on. Every word regarding the game is 100% accurate! I played this game back in '93 after renting it from Blockbuster and was amazed.

      Same! And the fact that barely anyone knew/knows about it makes it a true hidden gem

    Thanks for making this video. As both a James Bond / Timothy Dalton and retro video game fan, I was always curious about this game. I'm 41.

      You got it! I’m almost 38 and I’ve been playing this for about 30 years. Never gets old for me (by playing it once every 2-3 years)

    I too picked this up for five bucks! I loved it. Went in with zero expectations. Was surprised how good it was! Nice review - funny too. Man, if only we'd known about those old games.

      Same! When my mom bought this for me after I picked it up at the discount bin I was like ah this is probably going to suck but whatever, it’s $5. But like you said, I was surprised lol. Wish I bought all of them that day in the discount bin

    In the 90s, I always saw this at my local video store but never picked it up. Always thought Dalton was a lame Bond and didn't expect the game to be ANY good. Then, a few years later, I was going crazy with emulators and downloaded a 007 game i had no idea existed. I was so blown away that when I went to track down info and saw the cover I was like "Oh sh... it's THAT game??"

    • @VicariouslyRetro
      @VicariouslyRetro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha that’s funny. Yea the game look like a typical shovelware game when looking at the cover but it’s surprisingly good

    This is exactly how I felt when first tried this game decades ago. Seemed ok, nothing special, but you can't stop trying again and again. The music is a blast and these abrupt dorky enemy death screams burned into my memory. And it was so satisfying to shoot them off these tree platform edges as they ran and still had inertia😄

    • @VicariouslyRetro
      @VicariouslyRetro  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly, man. It wasn't your go-to game as a kid but for some reason you wanted to keep playing it here n there to see if you could beat it. Haha yea the death screams are so classic

    I only played the Master System version back in the day, which looked quite stellar for an 8-bit title. I wouldn't quite call it a "hidden gem", but it's not a bad game.

    • @VicariouslyRetro
      @VicariouslyRetro  ปีที่แล้ว

      Never played the master system game before. I only own like 3-4 master system games. I’ve been meaning to start collecting for it since I have the power base converter for the model 1 genesis

      @@VicariouslyRetro It's not exactly the same game, it follows the same formula but I'd say it's different enough to warrant playing both.
      The Master System had much more of a presence here in Europe, so no wonder you never ran into this game (I think it was too late a release to even come out in the US).
