Hi,. Thanks for the great video! I have a meraki GX 20 security gateway. I want to use it as a firewall between my Verizon FiOS router and a data storage server. Can I simply run an Ethernet cable from my router to the GX20 and then an Ethernet cable from the GX 20 to my data storage server? Please advise and thanks again.
What if ISP gives me router and modem in one (Meraki) device. Should i plug my firewall wan port to Merakis LAN port. How should i set up addresses if I had /30 range.
Verizon modem is my primary. You can order a backup modem (Redundant) or a wireless modem that doesn’t need wiring like the primary, for your backup connection. Mostly businesses requires backup modem to stay open without interruptions.
Would the MX work if you had connected it directly to your Modem AKA ONT? I am trying to do that on our company network and on the MX Appliance status it gives a "BAD IP CONFIGURATION" error any idea what could be causing this?
Yes. You plug one RJ45 from your ISP Wan-MX WAN. First turn off all devices. Turn on modem till fully comes up- next turn on MX firewall connected to modem n nothing else- wait till MX front light turn white- then connect other devices to the MX. Did you purchase MX new or used? Also did you configure MX DHCP or static?
@@OutdoorsNature no sorry I meant if you connect your ONT to the router then, connect your MX on the router. Will that not cause the BAD IP config issue?
@@mfunekomkosana3018 Here’s a link on how to add or connect a router, th-cam.com/video/Pa4lJ87h_EE/w-d-xo.html Plz provide more info about your devices, static, DHCP…etc that I may help you better.
Please help me with the actual configuration video, I'm clear about the physical connection. It's just the "Bad IP configuration" I'm getting on my MX67 dashboard.
This is the reason you have so few subscribers. You need to take your audiences seriously. You know I meant Cisco RV small business routers such as the RV345. Anyways, I went for the MX64W.
Very nice video. there is one thing too much showing.

@@OutdoorsNature thanks mate 😎
did the MX come with the hardware to mount it to that wood backplate?
No, You can use fitted screws or bolts that may fit the back of MX, and hang it as shown here.
All gig ports?

Why do you need a meraki? Why not an RV instead?
Meraki is a network node to protect n route network traffic, whereas RV is a recreational vehicle. Lol 😂
