We used to holiday in Blackpool every year as children in the sixties and seventies. Winter gardens was always the go to place when the weather was bad.

Blackpool is still to this day very blinkered regarding it's lavish history and architecture. The like of which has never been seen before in any British seaside resort. Brighton has the Pavilion. Blackpool has hundreds of gems. The Palace Theatre was demolished to make way for a store. The Grand Theatre almost had the same fate. Thanks to a farsighted group it was saved. Many many gems and precious buildings and items of art and importance are not given the respect and preservation they deserve for their total beauty and history. Many I am sure are still boarded up. Thank God Blackpool council are not in charge of Venice. We might see McDonalds and Casino's in St Marks square.

Is that a regular tour or was it a one-off event?

That was a one-off event in 2013. they have done similar tours since. You would need to contact the Winter Gardens to see if they have any plans for future tours
