Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries before 2020 and all 7 continents, we have no plans to slow down anytime soon, and we are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
Okay, it's compliment time: First, Nate: this is one of the most inspirational things I've ever seen. Your journey through the CT is a reminder that achieving a goal doesn't mean you have to enjoy every part of getting there. Sometimes it's literally just putting one dang foot in front of the other and slogging through it with cuts and bruises, crawling to the finish line. BUT it doesn't matter how you make it across that finish line. Just that you do. And what an achievement that is! Thank you so much for sharing even a portion of this journey with us and for having the endurance, resilience, and spirit to get through.
Now, Miss Kara: Being a support to someone on a journey like this is just as difficult as the one doing the journey. No matter how much food you make or encouragement you give, you can't take your loved one's pain away. All you can do is remind them of why they wanted to do this and that they can get through. Also, by editing these vlogs so beautifully, you get to tell Nate's story, the good, bad, and ugly, in such a rewarding way. Thank you for your patience, creativity, and grace.
You both are such inspirations, and thank you so much for putting in all of this extra effort to share your journey with us!

Also, I would like to say that we are seeing a part of a spiritual growth process here....with both of you, (actually, all of you there) but with Kara and Nate especially. You both are learning a lot about yourselves along the way....and you are adapting and overcoming some really difficult mental struggles....and becoming better for it. To Nate: Congrats on making it this far! I grew up in rural Colorado, and the CT was always talked about in hushed tones... It was an intimidating challenge, even for those of us who grew up wandering the mountains you're currently biking. Yes somehow, you still approached it with all the same positivity that comes along with this channel. I wish you the best of luck, and can't wait to see the next episode.

This is genuinely one of the most entertaining things I've ever watched, and equally as inspiring. I never comment on anything on youtube but this is such a masterpiece from you guys. The incredible amount of work both Kara and Nate have put into this trip while documenting it is incredible. Nate's journey has been so especially inspirational. His attitude and perseverance and overall badassery and pushing his body to such limits! I am inspired for life.

Rick is seriously an inspiration. Nate is pointing out the difficulties of the trail and Rick is biking the same exact trail, including crashing and falling off his bike, and he's just happily whistling and pedaling along and laughing about the crash immediately afterwards. It's all about perspective. He makes it look easy and fun. The world needs more people like him!
Yeah but Rick is a professional and this is Nates first time biking...So it's not rly fair to compare.

It's amazing that you transitioned to a longer format set in your home country without losing any part of what made your travel vlogs really special. The editing is outstanding, very beautiful and engaging. It really is the best show I've come across this year. Can't wait to see how this trip ends.
Kara need props, Bec and the girls need props, of course the boys need props - but can we just take a minute to appreciate Ricks constant positivity and good humor? What an awesome companion to have on a long and grueling trip!

I’ve just started watching about a month ago and I’m so wrapped up into everything the two of you do! I love watching every video I’ve found and I’m currently watching you bike the Colorado trail in awe of what all of you are doing. Two nights ago I found video of you explaining how you got started and if you want to continue. I just wanted to get on here and say Thank you! The both of you are amazing and you deserve everything you’ve received. I hope you continue and if not I will watch old videos until they disappear. Thanks Kara & Nate I love you and all that you’ve done! ❤ one of my most recent favorites was Nate going out with Poos in his old van that had been painted and looked pretty darn sweet inside as well. I almost died laughing when you broke through the canvas bed as I was just wondering how that canvas was still holding. That video was a precious memory one you will cherish forever I’m certain! 😊

The editing makes this adventure so compelling. Great job Kara. And having the preserverence to keep going when his body is tiring, shows how much grit Nate really has! Looking forward to the next installment. (ps: newer vehicles w their complex charging/electrical systems can be damaged by trying to jump start or charge other vehicles and visa versa. Be mindful)
I agree, the editing is what makes it! I love the cuts back and forth between their two different experiences. Makes it especially interesting and funny.
I just love your adventures. I am almost 70, I have MS and my days of adventure have ended for me. So you bring the adventure, the excitement, the frustration to me, Thank you so much for letting me live a little art of your adventures. I also appreciate the clean language because I can watch your videos with my grandkids and not have to worry about all of those awful four letter words, Thank you again.
I was feeling inspired to try such a thing myself but I'm now feeling like living vicariously through you all is sufficient.
I'm about 29 minutes into the video and I was thinking how interesting it is that both Kara and Nate are doing new things and growing in new ways. I could count the number of times I remember seeing Kara drive anything on one hand and never by herself that I recall. Nate is a sporty guy but he has gone from zero to a one hundred in terms of physical activity and its hitting him hard. Love the videos. Yalls are the only videos that I make an effort to watch every week.

I was lucky to find these two early in their adventures and I went through every video they had already made as quickly as I could. They are AWESOME! True talent and they put out great content!
I was blessed enough to say that I found Kara and Nate one particularly difficult New Years' Day nearly 3 years ago. I had recently lost my job of 14 years, and had no idea what was happening in life. Then, the YT algorithm recommended a beautiful looking couple who were on the Tran-Siberian Railroad. I clicked on that first video, and became instantly hooked. I went back and watched every single video from that first flight to Tokyo. Finding Kara & Nate changed my life in that I've seen more of the world than I could ever do in real life, and got to know two really fantastic people who I now consider friends of mine. ❤️ Welcome to the community!

@@sktyby Empty hospitals in my area....in a combined area of about 4 million people and there never was an inundation of covid patients. So yes, I question why we are wearing masks and why things are not back to normal when clearly there is a lot of propaganda surrounding covid. People need to get back to work, this is beyond ridiculous.
Anecdotal evidence isn’t proof of anything. More than 200,000 Americans have died with these measures in place. Do a little reading, expand your mind beyond TH-cam.

Hi there, my name is Anna (I am on my husbands computer). I just wanted to give you a heartfelt thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you do to continue vlogging. The first videos I watched of you guys was in Jerusalem, and I was blown away by the quality of the videos, and how it felt like I was right there with you guys. I then found your playlist of "watch from the beginning", and I have been watching ever since. I just finished your 3rd vlog in Buenos Aires, from beginning of year 2 :D.
I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your videos, I am attempting to go from my LPN to my RN, and am finishing up my courses before going back into nursing school. When a concept gets too hard to understand, I watch a video or 2 of yours to relax for a while before going back to schoolwork. I just wanted to say that you two have been life savers, as a former outdoorsy type I am living vicariously through you. I am home bound taking care of my 94 year old mother and working my desk job from my home office during the pandemic. I've been watching your channel for over a year now. Also Nate is really inspirational to me, he will be able to tackle any trail after this, I want to get back on my mountain bike or any bike for that matter. And to Kara, the quality of your videos are showing the hard work you have put in. These vlogs are better than any Netflix documentaries I have seen in a long time.

I literally watched every second of this, and absolutely loved it. I could not even imagine having that will power to continue through the excruciating pain, mental strain and the weather. OMG Nate! Having done decades of MTB and road cycling (and having hit the dirt in both) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do up your helmet strap! Especially for that high speed stuff on the road, you want to give that helmet the best chance of staying on your head should you unexpectedly hit the deck.
