Many years ago there was an artist Boris Vallejo who was well known for highly detailed, very realistic works. I never though i would ever see an artist better. There was also Sorayama. Also hyper accurate though his paintings were less organic.

As I understand it, hyperrealism has been around since the 1960's. So it's a relatively new art form. So with most of these hyperrealistic artworks, it would hard to tell side by side what picture is a photograph vs. a hand drawn work. This changes so much of how art has traditionally been made. Many of the famous artists have their own visual style. Their works are generally easy to pick out, as they are distinctive from other artists. With this newer art, that unique style, is not applicable. I would guess most artists would have a very hard time making a name for themselves in the art world. That being said, this artist has over 2 million views! How is that even possible for an artist drawing mostly everyday objects that many people wouldn't view necessarily as art. They would clearly be wrong. Part of the reason is this artists incredible talent, but for me it's more about celebrating talent. Reguardless it's my favorite art style since surrealism, especially M.C. Escher.
